Description
Boucheron for women is a symbol of splendour, tradition and elegance, a classic floral oriental fragrance. Boucheron’s designers created this elegant perfume in 1988 and it was inspired by the art of Parisian goldsmiths from Place Vendome.
The fragrance in perfume concentration has a shape of a ring, edt and edp also have a symbolic shape of a ring.
The basic notes are sweet floral-fruity ones with a spicy note of basil and bitterness of pelargonium, which slowly receives intensity with ylang-ylang, tuberose, daffodil, orange blossom from Morocco and jasmine. The base, which is as thin, opulent and elegant as the whole composition, encompasses: civet, benzoin, woody notes, Tonka bean, Indian vanilla, oakmoss, ambergris and musk. The perfume was created by Francis Deleamont and Jean-Pierre Bethouart in 1989.
A collection of 4 perfumes by Boucheron, called “Parfums de Joaillier”-“Waters by Jeweler”, was introduced in 2007. The design of bottles was inspired by this house’s jewelry creations and they seem like a metamorphosis of a jewel into bottles. There are initials P and J (Parfums de Joaillier) on the bottles and are written in gold and silver colour.
All perfumes in this collection, except for the pink Miss Boucheron-Parfums de Joallier, have the colour of the gem amethyst. This special limited edition is available as 100ml edp spray and carries the same notes as the original version.
You can read more about it in the article Special Jeweler’s Edition of the house Boucheron.

If I could only own one perfume for late nights and romantic dates, Boucheron would be it. It has everything.
A bit ahead of its’ time, I would say. Would rather classify it as an early 90s’ scent (because of its’ complexity), than 80’s. Even though it has the sillage and power of the eighties.
Unforgettable, unique and classic.

I have a completely full 3.3 oz. bottle of Boucheron Eau De Parfum that I would like to trade. Please message me if you are interested.
I bought it because my boss, years ago, would sometimes wear it and everytime she did, I’d ask what she was wearing. It was so classy and beautiful on her.
Unfortunately, in recent years I have become increasingly allergic to fragrances I used to like. This one hit me in the sinuses immediately. I haven’t been in so much pain since I bought Ralph Lauren Blue.

I’ve been getting to know this fragrance over the past week and it truly is a lovely gem! This is not a cap sniffer. This is not a “spray on the test strip and smell”. This is not a “spray one test spot and see if I like it”. If you are not familiar with Orientals or how 30 odd notes jammed into a bottle take time to bloom, this may turn you off at first sniff. This is a Lady, you have to take your time with her, get to know her. She is deep, and has a lot of personality. This dried down into a lovely, powdery, sweet Oriental that I find extremely comforting. My Husband accidently bought a 75ml recharge edp bottle at TJ Maxx for $24 because it was in the Men’s section. He sprayed it on, and I immediately knew it was a Woman’s Oriental, and was like, Oh?! Do I know someone I could possibly re-gift this to, or do I need to take it back?? But I kept sniffing the dry down, and realized it was a keeper and there was no way anyone could get me to part with this stuff. Scents are like people sometimes, the ones you immediately like are often mediocre once you get to know them and have a personality with a mass appeal but no depth. The ones that make you question and wonder if you like them, or ones you think you outright despise can be surprisingly charming once you get to know them. Boucheron and I have become friends over morning coffee and work days. I look forward to spending more time with her in the cool Autumn. I also think I might hunt down the Men’s version for my Husband, he bought this because he read Boucheron Pour Homme was Patrick Swayze’s signature.

I must admit this type of scent is not my cup of tea. But.. sometimes you need to try something that you havent tried before. So i blinded buy this boucheron on fragranceX after long reading and review many reviews. It is very classic. Need couple time of use until i can really “appreciate” this gem. It is so 80s-90s… a bit strong and heavy at the beginning, people will quickly notice the smell when you spritz… then slowly bloom its charms, you can smell jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang.. so powdery, aldehyde and soft… it reminds menof chanel no 5. Sure they dont share the same exact notes, but the powdery and aldehyde theyre kind to be similiar.
This type of scent represent and old fashioned women, a conservative personality, an elegant and classy. Surely this one not suitable for summer.. i would wear this for special occassion, night wear, a wedding or on a date for sure

I got the edt and this baby is strong and last long! Smells identical to the original oscar de la renta perfume. Some similar notes as well. I will say this, young girls may not like this. I had oscar fragrance when I was in my early mid 20s and I hated it. I thought it was too floral and heavy. Now that I am 31 I love the strong heavy floral fragrances and they last longer than those fruity vanilla jelly bean scents I was attracted to when I was younger. White florals and Orientals are the way to go if you want long lasting. Being a mature young grown woman now, I now love and appreciate these fragrances my mom and grandma wore! They are BEAUTIFUL!

I’m having this beauty in my wardrobe for quite some time now and have worn it regularly in the past and I remember gettimg a lot of compliments on it then.
Using it today, since a very long time, I wonder why it took me so long..
This is heaven in a bottle! It’s oriental for sure, but in a very ‘global’ kind of way.
It is so well balanced, intriguing and uplifting. The powdery notes in the end, are not powdery as in Chanel no 5, but as in how I imagine stardust would smell (if stardust would smell of anything), much more ‘bright’ and ‘transparent’. I’m not even sure I would call it ‘powdery’.
I guess the benzoïne has got a lot to do with that.
It has got a lot of depth without being bold or overwhelming.
Loving it!

I smelled some of this once at a department store my Mother worked at, and all of a sudden, I was taken back!! They way my Aunt Sandy smelled when I was a young girl at her house. I remember her smelling like a “rich” woman, and I LOVED IT! Definitely Boucheron! I feel very powerful and confident when I wear this fragrance, and it ALWAYS reminds me of my beautiful Aunt Sandy <3

It’s a funny thing about scent and memories. You smell something and all of a sudden your brain pops up a memory that you didn’t even remember you remembered!
I like Boucheron, it’s a nice smoky floral, over the top 80s oriental style. It has enough going on to keep you interested as it unfolds this way and that over the course of it’s wear. It’s smoldering and powdery and the florals are thick.
For me, Boucheron smells exactly, and I do mean exactly like the inside of a popular “adult toy store” and headshop in my city. A plasticky 80s tuberose mixed with years of Nag Champa incense. I couldn’t believe my scent memory took me there but yes, I smell this and I think smutty. I think bongs for sale and I think of rows upon rows of cheap lingerie and rubber/ vinyl “toys”.
Obviously if you’ve never been to this very specific store, you’re not going to have this association so by all means give Boucheron a try if you like powerful smoke infused floral orientals. This is decadent. If this were a woman she’d be all curves and lipstick.
DIMOH – :
This may be the scent that gets me to enjoy tuberose in a perfume. I am a sucker for nostalgic perfumes, and for fellow vintage lovers, Boucheron EDP is an absolute must for your collection. Be warned though, this lady is not an open book, you must get to know her slowly. My reaction went from “maybe I’ll give it to mom” to “holy cow I’m wearing this forever” over the course of a couple of days. At first, all I got was heavy orange blossom, and I thought it was too close to perfumes I already had. 24 Faubourg, Reem Acra, and Roberto Cavalli edp immediately jumped to mind as orange blossom ladies I’ve already either loved and kept or liked and passed on. But I am seeing the different sides of this perfume now and the sweet warm softness is something I am becoming addicted to by the hour. Roberto Cavalli is fruity and clean. Reem Acra has that pear, but was a bit stifling (bye girl), and 24 Faubourg is gloriously aloof. Boucheron opens with a fuzzy warm clean feel, like a blanket out of the dryer, then a lovely powderiness follows. There’s a discordant saltiness that comes in soon after that reminds me of the opening of SL Ambre Sultan (a firm favorite). I enjoy this actually, it’s a texture I wasn’t expecting in this otherwise sweet and warm composition and it’s all the more original for it. It softens further into its really addictive stage- fluffy warm amber goodness brightened by a pink bubblegum tuberose. These facets play hide and seek- sometimes I’m enveloped in a warm sweet haze, then a salty, animalic punch, or pop of gummy tuberose will rouse me out of my doze. I absolutely love it. I would wear this with a lighter or heavier hand in all seasons and weather. The verdict: It certainly could be written off as an 80s powerhouse on the surface, but dig a little deeper and discover that it’s far more nuanced and interesting. So glad I didn’t dismiss Boucheron before really giving her a chance. Those who do don’t know what they’re missing.

Very classy vintage smell. To me opens with basil mint citrus then goes to ambery sweet vanilla. Very alike Gloria Vanderbilt Vanderbilt but freshier at start. Good silage lasts on me about 3 hours generously sprayed so would say short longevity needs respray. Homme version much freshier and minty
makportess – :
wow; a juicy sweet floral in the top then incense and amber in the base; tuberose, marigold, jasmine, apricot then orris and base is benzoin, sandalwood, musk, amber
ne3abydka – :
My first experience with Boucheron occurred on a joyful testing spree at Nordstrom about six years ago. I remember thinking, now This IS perfume… but do I LIKE it?
The scent polarized me!
On the one hand it genuinely smelled expensive and elegant in the classic feminine manner I adore. On the other there was a decidedly Bitter edge I couldn’t overlook, which seemed to dominate the composition. It puzzled me, the beginning perfume explorer, even while simultaneously beguiling as well. (Word to the wise – the same thing happened to me with Knowing, Youth Dew, Chanel No 5, and countless other classics shortly after. To my mind, if you’re simultaneously enamored and repulsed it means you’re eventually going to fall heavily!)
Fast forward a year or so, and my second testing of Boucheron created a better understanding of the scent. Ah, that touch of bitterness (not so bothersome now!) is there to offset and balance the sweetness and lush florals, which could otherwise become cloying. Not bad, not bad at all. And I began to seek a bottle…
Every time I’ve bumped into the fragrance of Boucheron since then, it’s been Love. Tagetes and Marigolds may be an acquired taste, but – hey, presto – I’d acquired it! And this year, Oh Happy Day, I finally have a full bottle to enjoy any and every time the mood hits. Lush femininity and dignity combine to create a queenly floral perfume with depth and personality. What more can I ask? Allure, that’s what, which any perfume containing musk, amber, civet, and orange blossom cannot help but deliver!
<3 In short, a true winner. <3
If you enjoy traditional, FEMME florals and florientals like Bijan, Organza, or Classique, you can count on an experience worth repeating when spraying on this perfume-that-IS-perfume. The orange blossom, civet, and musk beauty of Boucheron will envelop, seduce, and cheer you and yours throughout the day.
So… sometimes with challenging scents it’s worth a second try. Or more! One of the best things I’ve learned in my perfume journey is to take time to acquaint myself with fragrances I don’t understand. It more than repays the effort, or so it seems to happen… again and again and again.
I’m so VERY glad I persevered and got to know Beautiful Boucheron better.
Five Stars!

my Mother’s signature fragrance. And she’s been rockin it since the 80s. Ive thrown a few scents her way, to try..and she’s dismissed them like they were beneath her to wear, LOL

Boucheron is a classic and classy Floriental that never disappoints! I’ve worn this since it came out and let me tell you…not only is it exquisite to wear but it is a total man magnet! I was dating a guy and he loved it so much whenever I wore it he called me “Beautiful”! The Jasmine and Orange blossom blend wonderfully with a dry-down that is powdery and a bit of vanilla. When I wear this I kind of feel like a Princess..it is THAT classy and ‘regal’of a scent..one that you could see Princess Kate wearing. I’ve never gone out and not had people ask me where they could get Boucheron..they liked it that much! I like to think of it and my little ‘secret’ scent but it’s gaining popularity..as well it should! Enjoy!

I had this back n the 80’s. Now I miss it! Was out last weekend and one of my friends smelled great and I asked her what she had on? Boucheron! I have had so many perfumes. I am a perfumeaholic. Gotta have it again. Classy and classic

I used this perfume back when it came out, it was my signature scent for years, but time and time again I go back to this gem. Its opening is strong, rich yet warm and very elegant, it dies down to a softer version of itself a spicy oriental. It’s a rich fragrance and not for those who prefer soft notes. I always get compliments when I wear it and my beau absolutely loves it! It’s a classic! If your grandma used/uses it, she has good taste 🙂

Very rich, bold fragrance of the Old school. At the beginning of the solo sound honey sweet – tart tuberose with sour citrus( tangerine, orange). Heart notes of seductive warms civet, punched retro feel. Base spring strangled me caramel, in the winter sounds delightful – balanced band of all notes.
Of images occurs Kate from Titanic, impulsive, passionate, adventurous, daring and pure in thoughts and deeds, sincere, she would have to face this perfume.

I received this initially as a sample from a department store buy along with several others. I put them in my dresser and let them be for several months. While mundanely rearranging my sock drawer I must’ve squirted some of this perfume into the linens it was trapped within and I began to smell this beautifully composed spicy floral fragrance. It caught me off guard at its potency and it filled the area like a cloud. I am one for aesthetics and the 80s is my all-time favorite decade. This perfume literally smells like the 80s! Sky high hair, shoulder padded windbreakers, chiseled blushed cheekbones, and scrunchy socks bottled up! I buy perfume for its effect on my my mood and what memory it evokes or feeling it draws from me. This perfume reminded me of growing up in the 80s where things were done happily without excuse and in excess (admirably perfumes and hair teasing…lol). I bought a bottle of this and wear it every single day. It is sharp in its opening and does not make an excuse for its beautiful bouquet and incenseful drydown. It is soft and warm and present always. Draws compliments from men and women alike. Wonderfully made and preserved perfume! No water in this baby!

If Ysatis, Bijan, Vendetta, Diva, Van Cleef, Imari, Samsara and Paloma Picasso had a love child this would be it, sweet, woody, warm rich syrupy-honey yellow floral with a powdery-hairspray old-world glamour spicy warmth. Very classic and striking. Probably best suited to colder weather. Smells expensive and timeless.

In regards to the comments by Sassy1, I couldn’t agree more. Referring to scents as “dated”, “old man”, or “old lady” is an odd concept to me.”Dated” I suppose COULD be acceptable to me if the intention is to use that word as a descriptor to place it in a historical context to give a reference point to style from a given period. I suspect, however, that “dated” is not usually being used that way. “Old Man”, “Old Lady” “Granpa” or “Grandma” I can’t even relate to. It would seem that someone using those types of words, as a descriptor for scent, have no interest in time travel or in the art of scent for the sake of the art itself. It puzzles me that someone would be interested in belonging to a site dedicated to the exploration of scent and not explore scent.
BTW- No scent was ever originally created for old people. When these “Old People” scents originally came out, it was the young who were buying them.

i had a small bottle of this some years ago but its scent is permanently etched in my mind.
firstly, it is strong! and its sillage also. if you like white flowers then this is the scent for you.
to me, it is one of those cloying fragrances that when you try to wash off, it just wont go. always the ones you dont like.
but it has refinement and opulence, bursting with heady tuberose and my old nemesis, lily of the valley with orange and amber undertones.
it is thick and rich and syrupy. the kind that ants could be attracted to. (i have ant problem in my house at the moment).
reminds me of alfred sung, wings by georgio, and the original eternity. too much for me but i can appreciate its beauty.

This is an incredibly beautiful soft warm deep yellow floral that just gets better with time on the skin. It softens to a very powdery soft amber floral (not an amber overload). It really is timeless, femine, gorgeous!

I’m sorry, but if you have nothing better to say about a perfume than it smells like an old lady, you lack imagination and frankly, why are you even on this site??
Perfume is a sensory exploration, sometimes triggering emotions, memories or even bad times.
If you can’t appreciate or are not open to a range of scents from different era’s, you don’t appreciate perfume.
You are merely a 1 dimensional being who doesn’t like old people or how they smell.
Move on…..

I don’t know why I like this. By all my fragrance wardrobe I should not. A white floral oriental, sparkling and slightly aldehydic is not for me. Yet…I love it. I did not particularly want to like it either. It just happened. Maybe because it’s winter (and I think this is only a winter perfume) when the yellow gold bouquet of flowers projects and sparks more strongly in the thin air. In warmer weather I think it can get murky but in winter it is so bright. It shouts elegance, refinement, expensive, well done classic perfumery, but without being old. It is a perfume of another time, which in a way is still there. But in the style of the big florals of the 80s, hard to decompose in a few notes. Seems like a wholly reconstructed bouquet of flowers where none remained the same as in the normal world. Worn, it seems like a Hermes Kelly bag medium size. Can’t get out of fashion classic statement especially when worn with something at the opposite. I find Boucheron perfect to ground by complete opposition either a more edgy dark minimalist outfit to which it will add elegance or then a sexy one against which it will look cold and distant. Just not with pearls and cashmere please.
lkx880InsuffBooni – :
Boucheron comes from the school of rich florientals, with a chypre backbone, all laced with animalic notes. It somehow follows Ysatis, released 4 years earlier, and as if anticipating the end of the 80’s powerhouses it tries to cram everything in a bottle. But it succeeds at not making a caricature and instead it delivers a beautiful fragrance that somehow is also a swan song to shoulder pads, big hair and bright frosted pink lipstick.
My 1988 edt starts with a big spicy orange blossom that also turns honeyed and marries perfectly with the tuberose and ylang ylang to make a white flower cornucopia. It does not shy and turns the volume all the way up to let the flowers sing. A little carnation to spice up, some narcissus to prepare for the animalics ahead, resinous amber to sweeten everything; this is a sweet nectar through and through.
But as the fragrance unfolds, the sweetness subsides to let the oriental notes show. There’s a nice hint of dark vanilla, sandalwood and resinous benzoin, and suddenly it feels more oriental than floral.
But, the oakmoss backbone keeps everything ‘dry’ and more sophisticated. The civet shines in the vintage edt and adds dimension and sensuality to what otherwise could be a screechy floral. Sometimes Boucheron is too much, you can’t just put it on and go. It demands a certain attitude, a certain glamour. It feels too sophisticated to be casual. But it can also glamorize a simpler outfit, as long as the wearer has the personality to pull it off.
I recently tested the version out there today, and my surprise was that it hasn’t been destroyed. Yes, the base, or better, lack of, is simple and turns to plain ambery musk without any of the interesting parts, but the fragrance remains bold and beautiful. Along the years it has had retouches but it somehow retains a big part of its character. Nowadays the edp is far more interesting, but if you happen upon a vintage edt, grab it; it puts many others to shame. And if you miss the old Ysatis, give Boucheron a try. Age has been kinder with it.

I wish I could figure out what combo of notes is making me “dislike” this !!! ???
It is not bad, really….but there is an upfront note/notes that just does not work out for me. I will have to re-test on me at some point…sometimes..mood…weather…ect… play a part on my initial judgement of SOME scents. I have the EDT version…maybe the EDP would have smoothed these “weird” notes out…??…Will try it again on another day.I am getting floral…but maybe with the citrus/marigold/white florals combo is the culprit…(the blend) of these notes. I am finding the in the “cloying” category…sigh…sigh….

This scent propels me back in time, almost back into another century, where women wore long dresses to the floor, goldi locks and expected chivalry and hand kisses. Very feminine, very classy. A perfect scent for ballroom dancing, where you twirl around in front of a wall with antique gold-framed mirrors, admiring your own reflection. I know, it was created in the 80’s but also might have fitted perfectly in the 1800’s. It is a very special fragrance for very special evenings. It is way too dramatic for every day wear.

the scent is not what i expected it to be
i have the vintage bottle
for me it’s just white flowers with the civet
i cannot smell the amber note and the others
and the tuberose is not that creamy either
but surely it’s a white flower scent
classical but not that powdery so not old-lady like
it’s elegant and with great quality
just out of my league i guess

I have the Boucheron EDT. I am often afraid of vintage white florals. They can be sharp. They can be screechy. They often contain a generous amount of my old nemesis, Aldehydes. Boucheron though, is lovely. At times it reminds me of other old favorites like VS Rapture or Bijan but it’s really better then either one. I get a creamy tuberose, some sparkling citrus, orange blossom, animalic civet skank and wonderful mossy woods at the base. There is a lot going on here but it all mixes so well together it’s not at all a messy cacophony like some 80’s kitchen sink florals are. Boucheron is rich and intoxicating like nothing else. She’s the classier more well blended sister of Rapture and Bijan.

A white floral classic, which when first applied, exhibits the creamiest melange of white florals ever! Dries down to a warm, slightly spicy powdery shadow. It’s gorgeous, it’s reasonably priced, it won’t offend anyone but it doesn’t last that long.
rus.trunkin – :
Oh my, how beautifully Devine. Even though it is 1980’s, it’s for today. I guess that’s what a classic is. Timeless. It kind of has a fresh soapy scent to it that is really haunting in a good way. I have the toilette spray. I think next time I’ll try the perfume.
BmViagras – :
Today was a Boucheron day. Sweet, sensual and full of light. The perfume opens with a sweet fruity mixture. Then, in a second a bitter odor appears and stays in the back like a shadow in the night. It gives a tender, more sour touch to the composition. Not bad, in fact gorgeous one. The heart is also sweet but made by floral notes. I can’t tell the notes apart. It is a bouquet of flowers. Sweet, elegant, classic. All about this perfume is elegant and beautiful.
It dries down to warm, creamy amber with some vanilla, tonka and benzoin. A sweet and well balanced base, stable and huge. Its longevity is impeccable.
This perfume is a classic one: wonderful and loud, it makes a statement. Every perfume wardrobe should contain a pearl like this. For me was love at first sniff and I think that is a general feeling. It’s love in a bottle, a sweet one
beshiktas355 – :
I wore several bottles of Boucheron when it came out, then I made a break, had other loves but recently I’ve been feeling tempted of bringing it back to my life. I hope it didn’t suffer any reformulations because you can’t improve something that is already perfect.
The EDT and the EDP being the same perfume smell a bit different. The EDT is lighter and more floral while the EDP is stronger and more on the oriental side. My favourite is the EDT. It’s soft, light and makes me feel like a million dollars. The EDP smells divine too but it’s more appropriate for the cold weather and it’s usually preferred by lovers of stronger and oriental scents.
All and all, they’re both amazing.

Other people may associate this with older, matronly women, but to me it’s super sexy! Not only could this wear me, it may even make me like being worn! Is this old school? Yes. Is it big? Oh yeah. Boucheron. 1.7 edt
Boucheron is a womanly fragrance. Its in the class of beauty with class and gravitas.
A lot of reviews speak of the florals, which they are sophisticated, but I want to review it from the bottom or the extremely luxe basenotes that give this fragrance the support to the rest of the fragrance.
A skillfully balanced animalic base of feminine ambergris, smooth deer musk and civet give the floals its warmth and depth. Its very rare to see this kind of supple animalic configuration in a designer fragrance. The woods support it with cedar as part of the heart and sandalwood in the base. This is about as luxe as you can get in a fragrance. The forals and fruits overlayed ontop of this hypnotic base blends it all together into a elegant, wearable luxury experience. Fragrances, even high end niche arent loaded like this anymore.
Boucheron is a grand damme that will stand thru time, no matter the style or fads. A great composed fragrance is a great composed fragrance no matter when it was made. Boucheron is a top modern classic. Gorgeous.

Oh, Boucheron, where have you been all my life? I remember this coming out in the late 80’s, but I don’t think I was ready for her back then. Found the refill edp at Marshall’s this past weekend, and based on the reviews here, knew I had to have it! I’ve worn it the whole week, and am in LOVE. I usually can’t do heavy florals and tuberose can go WAY wrong on me WAY fast. So at first spray, my immediate reaction was, “OMG, what have I done? Glad it was only $16.99…” Then, about an hour later, all I could smell was this luscious, floral, fruity, spicy deliciousness. I love Nag Champa, and this turned into a beautiful incense on the drydown. Sillage is enormous – I wore a TINY bit to work (2 spritzes) and was told my office smelled like “Spencer’s” and also a “New Age Shop”. (perfect!) This should last me forever, as a teeny spritz is all you need. Definitely NOT safe for work unless the tiniest of dabs is used. (maybe not even then.) This could easily become my signature fragrance. I feel like an Egyptian Queen when I wear this. I shall use it sparingly and lovingly and treat her like the goddess that she is.

When I did the first test spray of the EdP inside the box I thought…ugh, this is awful. For two days, every time I walked by my perfumes I smelled the paper and thought, Boucheron was a horrible-horrible-horrible old lady hairspray smell.
I was wrong.
Boucheron needs skin to dry down properly. This morning, I did a test spray on my inner elbow to give it one final try before tossing it in the rubbish bin. Thank heavens I did that. Boucheron is fabulous, complex, and womanly. It’s not an easygoing fruitchouli that smells like every other perfume of the last few years.
How deep is this perfume? Cedar is a MIDDLE note. At cedar you are only halfway down. Muse on that a bit.
Boucheron is a fragrance for women who aren’t apologizing for who they are. Love, love, love.

WOW!!!!!! I had bought the EDT version a couple of weeks ago and loved it. I love tuberose combined with warm spices. One of my favourite is Alfred sung Encore which has tuberose and sandlewood. Anyway, the EDT appears more spicy initially and is a beautiful elegent, classy perfume … not too strong. It’s not sweet, I’m assuming due to the amber, oakmoss …etc .. which I love. Today I received the EDP version and …. WOW!!!!! it’s out of this world good. It smells twice as strong and sooooo beautiful .. no alcohol smell. Smells of flowers and spice, but very warm and yet not very flowery or spicy. i think the ingredients must be very well blended. Not harsh at first like Chloe Narcisse. If you like tuberose and amber, you will LOVE the EDP Boucheron. Smells very expensive. A very grown up perfume. My new favourite!

So glad I discovered this beautiful gem of a fragrance, sitting inconspiciously amongst a sea of celebrity cotton candy fragrances at TJ Maxx. It was $25 for a 2.5 oz refill bottle of EDP.
This is exactly what I wanted Hermes 24 Faubourg to be. 24 Faubourg is a stunningly regal fragrance, however it doesn’t develop on my skin into the richer base notes. Unfortunately it remains rather high-pitched, the white floral notes screeching on my skin the whole time. Boucheron starts off strikingly like 24 Faubourg, with the tuberose and green notes coming out at full force. My first impression of this fragrance was bitter, floral, and green. However, this quickly delves into the richer notes of amber and civet, which smell glorious and I always delight when I get a whiff of it.
Boucheron smells absolutely rich and regal. My other favorite perfumes include Guerlain Shalimar, and Chanel Coco. To me, those are more seductive, spicy, and oriental, while Boucheron is more of a white gloves and pearls kind of scent. I mentally place this in the same category as Chanel No. 5. Not that they smell similar, but they conjure up the same kind of scent story for me. Thank goodness the floral notes work on my skin, which they don’t always. Very pleased to add this beauty to my collection!
