Fantastic perfume.
Smells like a heavily chlorinated swimming pool. But in a really good way.
Rich and long lasting.
Perfect for summer.

Received as a free sample from Lucky Scent. Not a fan, kind of a plastic smell to it, sillage not that great either. I was not a fan of Acqua di Sale so I it makes sense because they are similar. The sea smell does not work well on my skin I think. I won’t be buying a bottle…

I used to think that Kenzo Homme (pre-reformulation) was the best marine aquatic perfume created and then came Nishane’s aquatic Loch Ness monster – Boszporusz. An incredible aquatic without the silly citrus overtones which mars most of the offerings in this class of perfume, this deep aquatic has many of the Kenzo notes and then some – seagrass, cypress, galbanum, sage, jasmine, gardenia, seaweed, oakmoss, patchouli, amber and musk. Beautiful projection and enormous longevity, this is yet another triumph for Jorge Lee who creates another modern classic for this line after Afrika Olifant, one of the best new animalic perfumes out there. Very very nice and not deserving of the rather low score on Fragrantica!

Heeleys sel Marin on crack. Wow. What a smel!

I want to start saying, to my nose, it is way more white and yellow flowers and green than marine. Which is great in my books, as I’m not big fan of marine scents. The only thing it has from marine for me is sense of open space and air moving. And even I’m not usually finding white flowers attractive in men perfumes, in this mix I’m finding them very pleasant. When it comes to woody side of it, for me it is more like branches or bushes, something green. Maybe more of the wood bark, if you will, rather than wood itself.
Second, 30 years ago, back in USSR we had men’s cologne, manufactured in Latvia, I believe its name was Edgar. Boszporusz smells like refined version of it with improved performance. Edgar would be punching you in the nose for 2 hours, then suddenly calms down for 1 hour, and shy away to become skin scent for 24+ hours. All while maintaining almost the same exact scent.
Boszporusz acts like better behaving Edgar that is there for you, clearly present in the room for 5+ hours. And while it maintains same aromatic core of scent, it playfully shifts between having slightly more flowers to having more greens, and back to flowers and so on. After that, bor about another 5 hours it stays noticeable within arm reach, following by about 8 more hours as skin scent.
I think is perfectly unisex scent, slightly leaning toward masculine side. And I think it is great for both indoor and outdoor use, and would go well with either formal or casual attire. It could be used any time of the year except winter.
Taking into consideration how difficult it is to find perfumes usable in Summer that also have great performance, it instantly puts Boszporusz in bottle worthy category for me. Ordering second tester to check for possible allergies, and if all goes fine it would be 3rd bottle of Nishane in my collection.

Yes, it has pricetag for 50ml same as 100ml of Heeley Sel Marin, but it has twice concentration and longevity of Sel Marin, and better quality.

Boszporusz takes me straight to the Mediterranean, to a greener version of the sunny macchia landscapes I associate with the southernmost European coastline.
The seagrass accord was new to me, but it gives Boszporusz an aquatic touch I really enjoy. Early in the progression I also sense a touch of citrus, but it is not listed so maybe it is a part of the Cypress chord.
The dry down is a fairly skin close dark, musky amber but it also keeps a gentle green aromatic scent for several hours.
If you want a nice green scent with a stroke of the Mediterranean, or perhaps the Black Sea if you prefer that, Boszporusz is really worth a try.

There’s something very secretions magnifique about this that just doesn’t gel well with my nose. Perhaps it’s the seaweed…

A well-blended gem, with the most prominent notes on my skin, being Seagrass-Cypress-Sage in that order. Although unisex, the cypress and sage seems to lean this towards the masculine end of the spectrum.
Unlike Heeley’s Sel Marin, Boszporusz is a type of aquatic that can easily have the word “Sport” at the end of its name. That’s not a bad thing, and it’s much more refined than the run of the mill Bro-cologne. Bonus points for the exquisitely evocative name. A warm water port good enough for Catherine the Great.. is good enough for me.
I’ve also enjoyed Suede et Safran by Nishan, and look forward to trying more of their offerings!

Marine, clean and musk! Note seagrass is very clear …I like the gardenia and jasmine intersect at other notes. I love the drydown, which develops becoming more aromatic always keeping marine. It reminds me of the days of late summer when it rains and the air is cooler …. beautiful!! The sillage is powerful, enormous longevity. interesting parfum!

WOW, was my fist impression, love this one. I like this better than Acqua di Sale – Profumum, its like Sel Marin Heeley on steroids.
