I hadn’t tried this until I moved to Australia. It is an amazing floral find. Nothing quite like it. I LOVE it.

Favorite Aftelier Scent. Out of production. Boronia is the smell and the name. Like a delicious citrus fruit yet to be adopted by gourmands as essence for modern cuisine. Think of a slice of pie on a summer day, fresh, delicious, yes you want more.

This is one of those rare finds where, when put on & given a few minutes to mesh with your own body’s scent, it transforms you. I felt like I had a greater presence in the rooms I’d enter. I’d catch people smelling me. I’d smell myself & grin. Utterly amazing. Like I’d found a gem, a memory-ignitor, a treasure for my senses & everyone around me.
To me, it smelled like the weekend camping parties that I’d attend all throughout my childhood summers with my parents & their friends & their children.
Lake water. Bull, leopard & wood frogs, clean dirt, my mother’s sun-drenched skin, her sandalwood beads & the sound of her guitar, the bonfires, cattails, blaring reggae & classic rock; my dad’s designer bicycle smelling like grease, the sandy gravel, sweet herbal sun-tea, wine & incense on the worn wood picnic tables. Sweetgrass, horsetail & cottonwood trees. The breeze blowing from the nearby strawberry field. Cool wet summer night, dewy grass & tents, smokey coals from the fire, just before dawn. Clean, deep, natural, green, earthy, sweet, woodsy, flowery, like wildflowers, yet stronger: grounding.
Yes, this solid perfume literally reminded me of how all of that smelled, how all of those times were, hence I long ssso much to own, smell, wear & share this again.
This solid perfume was many amazing memories in a tin, & when I wore it, I felt rich.
One of the best frags I’ve ever smelled in my life.
Brava, Mandy Aftelier! Brava!

I really love this scent, and this brand. I first heard about Aftelier on this webite, and quickly bought her book and this scent as a gift for a friend. Of course she loved it and so do I! It’s got a rich almost tropical vibe (in the way a passion fruit or blood orange would), in that when you mix only two or so fragrances you are able to get the complexity and diversity of aromas rather than masking the more delicate scents released. I’m really very impressed with this brand and this scent because it’s exactly what you think you are buying: there is no disappointment. Naturally the scent is a little more delicate and not as long lasting as a chanel or dior, but it gets going with even the tiniest bit of sweat.
Highly recommended.
