Born in Paradise the captivating new 22nd limited edition fragrance from Escada.

“Creating feelings of delight, warmth and frivolity – Born in Paradise transports you to the tropical haven of French Polynesia, evoking visions of bright and beautiful flowers, glistening beaches, clear turquoise waters and delectably delicious tropical fruits. Inspired by the famous Pina Colada cocktail, the ESCADA Born in Paradise perfume delivers an enchanting blend of pineapple and coconut milk, shaken with the aqueous and acidulous notes of watermelon, green apple and guava and enhanced with woody, musky and creamlike undertones. Exuberant in character, the fragrance instantly releases tantalisingly mouth-watering fruity scents and an infectious carefree feeling often inspired by tropical escapes – making it the prefect summer fragrance to transport you to paradise.” (Press release). Born in Paradise was launched in 2014.

    Born in Paradise
    Summer test
Sprayed all over after shower, then once more inner elbow a little while after.
    First impression: cocktail, pineapple cocktail.
This pineapple stayed glued to my sleeve as I sprayed and pulled my sleeve straight over it.
I don’t really detect much else, it’s a clean freshly cut type pineapple not the syrupy kind.
Where I sprayed initially -one small squirt went on my mid inner arm (nit a pulse point) and the scent is gone. I can detect a little itty bitty bit on my top if I shove my nose right in it.
There is an overall clean ness but not a perfume scent. The only place this has stuck to is the spray about half an hour after showering, inner elbow, and sleeve straight over the top.
I think this is perfectly nice. It’s simplistc, it is what it says on the box I suppose.
I don’t know if it’s my jam, I like more complex scents. In saying that my Lancome Miracle Blossom was pathetic so ya never know I guess.
I am happy to share this or samples and do swapsies or something. I might sell.

This is my favourite ‘fruity’ scents!
Pineapple, Watermelon, apple, Guava. I can’t pick the coconut up too well 🙁 Although I have used it 3 times and owned it for 1 month, it may come to me later.
I find the musk is strong-ish (not overpowering) and I think it makes me love this mix of notes even more as it’s not all fruit. The woods I can also pick up on and I feel it makes it grounded as well.

This really was a nice tropical one, fruity on first spritz and a bit more coconut in the dry down, but nothing pushing itself to the front too much.
Very well balanced in that regard. Beautiful bottle too.
Longevity was average as far as I remember, projection ok for the first 3 hours or so.
The year it came out it was basically my everyday scent for that summer, so I went ahead and got myself another backup bottle before the next edition rolled around.
But somehow that second bottle took forever to use up. I just hardly ended up reaching for it, reason being that while it is indeed a nice tropical fragrance, somehow there is nothing quite outstanding about it which keeps you coming back for more. There is no big ‘wow’ about it.
My attention just kept being grabbed by other more exciting things, which is why the last bottle slowly got used up as a ‘don’t care, just need to smell fresh today’ gap filler fragrance.
It’s still so far my favorite among the Escada summer editions. It was fun that summer while it lasted. But would I rebuy today? Probably not.

I’d never owned an Escada fragrance so I purchased this years ago based on reviews.
I was really hoping for the coconut note to be strong but I get a heck load of watermelon!
Others call this a tropical fragrance but for me it’s almost like a shampoo, fresh out of the shower scent.
Disappointed with the longevity and starting to think that maybe coconut just doesn’t show up on my skin.
Edit – This smells a lot like the Herbal Essences hydration shampoo, I guess that’s the coconut.

    Glad they had a tester
    not for me

I was surprised to see a escada perfume at chemist warehouse and was even more surprised it was only 23 dollars for a 100 ml bottle so I purchased this as a blind buy because I have liked escada perfumes in the past and this didn’t disappoint,it’s a very beachy type fragrance and you definitely smell coconut and the juicy pineapple notes,I don’t really smell watermelon in this but it is still a lovely tropical scent, the longevity in this is ok but you probably need to spray on more after 3 to 4 hours but overall I think this is another nice escada fragrance and glad I purchased it.

Saw this for sale on the Chemist Warehouse site and looked up the notes and reviews on here.
They sounded perfect for a hot , humid summers day which we’ve had here lately
So I decided to grab it the last time I headed into the store . It was only $25 and a blind buy
It was perfect for a hot day
    So fresh and fruity.
I smell a lot of pineapple and coconut.
First perfume I own with pineapple in it .
Pity the longevity is only a couple hours .
But I don’t mind. Gives me an excuse to respray and smell the beautiful pineapple again 🙂

This smells like Herbal Essences’ Hello Hydration Shampoo.. not impressed.

I used to love this, I bought it exactly the year it appeared. I only used it in the summer. I loved the initial fruity notes and the coconut that appeared after a few minutes. However, now I don’t really like it so much anymore. I think it went bad or something, because now I notice a very alcoholic note in the beginning, that wasn’t there before. Either that or I grew up and I don’t really enjoy fruity fragrances anymore :))

    I want to like it but I don’t 🙁
It’s too coconutty. Coconut itself is ok as a scent but this mixture just doesn’t work on my skin. The bottle is pretty though. I keep this as a decoration 🙂

Such a beautiful bottle and package to begin with. The product welcomes the summer as you spritz it all over your body and of a sudden you are in a lovely tropical island with lushes of Pina Colada-ish juicy notes. This is also aquatic and usually such notes doesen’t last so long on the skin, but when it is summer you want the sweet freshness and not over cloying perfume on your body (well I don’t). This perfume needs to be reapplied after approximate 2-3 hours, but then you get all the fresh top notes again, and that is actually ok. I think this is an excellent tropical summer perfume and you can be very generous with the spraying without offending people nearby.

I was expecting a blast of coconut when I blind brought this fragrance, but what I got, was a really fresh, almost salty, sea water. I straight away smelled pineapple, but it soon descended into really salty water with a hint of the watermelon. A really nice aquatic fragrance.

This is very nice fragrance it smells like coconuts in a aqua sweet breeze… Not too sweet more of coconut and on my skin it smells little bit more musk then from the bottle… Very good Summery fragrance!

Smells like Hello Hydration shampoo by Herbal Essence with a creamy dry down, this perfume is decent quality and lasts a good amount and is a pleasant every day scent that’s safe enough to not bother others

when this is first sprayed it’s gorgeous, almost jellybean sweet to me with a hint of pineapple & coconut then as soon it settles (a minute or two) its gone on me. i get a very very faint coconut smell for around an hour maybe but other than that i cant get it to last on me which is such a shame because the scent itself (when you can smell it) is lovely.

  16. :

Born in Paradise is a lot more fresh than Taj Sunset, but the sweetness is more comforting, so I like it a lot more. Still not to the level of Agua del Sol, but I’m definitely not sorry for having bought it (I’m getting as many of the Escada summer scents as I can find). I just wish it had better sillage, as it is quite an optimistic fragrance.

  17. :

This is the first tropical fragrance i ever bought, and still to this day it holds a special place in my heart. Pineapple and coconut in a slight breeze! Simple and tropical.

  18. :

    5 out of 5

    Aquatic Coconut Pineapple.
    First spray = 50% Pineapple 50% Coconut
    Drydown = 80% Coconut 20% Pineapple
It’s sweet and aquatic with some floral but I have no idea what note that was.

  19. :

I have to do an update on the EdT (on my skin). It’s nice and good but it’s just like a sweet, exotic, tropical fruit punch (with not so much alcohol). What I dislike about this is what I’ve disliked with all the other Escada frangraces that I’ve tried; they’re similar to some cheap, drugstore fragrances which aren’t necessarily bad but I expect more from a perfume that’s as expensive as an Escada perfume can be.
Maybe the price is because of high quality or the brand… Not sure but the scent isn’t as special as I expected or expect. … But, it’s still a beautiful fragrance, it just has a scent that’s similar to less expensive perfumes.
I’d rate it 4-5.5/10 but yes, if you do love Escada and tropical (pineapple, coconut…) scents; 6/10.

another inoffensive, super sweet, musky and fruity scent from escada. this one is very tropical like pina coladas. great for summer.
    update. has no lasting power

I’m the 600 person to vote and one of those who love/like this; Escada, this is probably one of your best fragrances so far, atleast the best among your tropcal ones!
EdT: Definately a prominent pineapple note followed by an almost as prominent coconut note and then guava and watermelon. I scented the pineapple in the opening and the watermelon at the middle but this is based on a drop on my skin (I’ve got a miniature of this so there’s no way to spray it).
There isn’t so much to say about it, I could analyze the notes for days but it’s enough to say that all the listed notes are occuring but mostly the tropical fruits along with some sweetness probably from the watermelon or/and guava.. However, I don’t think the cedar was necessary, atleast not if they wanted to make it as good as possible otherwise I guess they had some concept they wanted to fulfill…? Doesn’t matter, what matters is that I think more coconut and more pineapple would make this like a scent-paradise from heaven. … Now it’s too sweet and hindered from being as tropical and fruity as I (most of us?) want it to be.
Suitable for all seasons, occasions and weathers. The cedar and musk could make it more suitable for cold weather and the fruity notes suits spring and summer… Depends on what you concentrate on and scent the moste.
(Also, I assume some agree, a lot of Escada perfumes tend to smell a bit cheap, like drugstore perfumes and I don’t know why… What is it that follows through every Escada perfume and smells too sweet and/or artificial? Feel like it’s too iconic to be removed now, it’s like a part of the Escada brand…)
    6-8/10

This was a blind buy, and I was absolutely sure I would love it as I just love Escada summer scents in general. I do like it, but not as much as I thought. The initial notes are AMAZING – a coconut and pineapple punch! 3 seconds later all you’re left with is a synthetic tropical cocktail that resembles strawberry to me. Still pleasant but bordering on over sweetness, and it smells a bit like bubble gum. I am keeping this, but definitely not repurchasing when it ends.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Saw this at the store and tried on my skin. I immediately detected coconut in the initial burst along with the pineapple. Funny though, the top notes were the ones that came later on! Sadly for me, the coconut disappeared as quickly as it came and what’s left in the drydown is some kind of fruit smell I couldn’t quite put my finger on.. Pear? Overall I was disappointed in this. I so wanted to love it because I’m collecting coconut perfumes, but it was sadly lacking in the coconut note.:( If you don’t care much for coconut this just might be a good summer frag for you!

  24. :

    3 out of 5

So disappointed with this. Blind bought and expected a really summery, creamy and fruity scent. In reality, it’s a really harsh coconutty scent that lasts 3 hours max. So disappointing
    Scent: 5/10
    Longevity: 4/10
    Sillage: 6/10

  25. :

I bought this because many reviewers mentioned coconut, but to me it just smells like tropical fruit punch. I don’t smell any coconut at all. It’s a nice enough fragrance, if you like fruity Bath & Body Works-type fragrances.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

The smell of this fragrance is fresh fruit. Light and airy, it starts with fruity pineapple and goes on with warm creamy coconut. Fresh, summery, light. It reminds me of a sunny day on the beach! Warm, cosy, relaxing, lovely!

  27. :

This is the most tropical perfume ever! Absolutely! It’s the perfect summer cocktail…maybe a little too girlish. I can’t really imagine a woman in her thirties wearing it. Perhaps not even in her late twenties.

  28. :

It will sound crazy, but this is so much better in winter!
When I wore it during this summer, with the humidity and the heat, this perfume was just a sweet mess; nothing unique or special in it, at some point of the day, it was even annoying.
However, every time that I wear it during the cold weather, Born in Paradise is so good: it is really like a Piña Colada cocktel, I can smell the coconut and the pineapple and even whipped cream. It’s very creamy! This will cheer up your freezing mornings, it’s really a perfume that beats the winter blues!

  29. :

Very sweet and strong coconut fragrance with fruits. Perhaps I should buy this one. Reminds me of Escada island kiss but a lot of more sweet coconut. If you like Escada’s coconut fragrances then this will not be disappointment

  30. :

    4 out of 5

This is an amazing tropical scent that I can’t get enough of. Creamy coconut, pineapple, guava….paradise indeed! But let’s face it, this is just a glorified body spray. Longetivity is practically non existent so bring it with you to quick spray whenever you feel like smelling it again. These weak limited edition scents Escada keeps releasing is so aggravating. I think they can make some really fun tropical and floral scents but what’s the point in buying them if they last only an hour. Add some intensity, Escada and I will actually purchase your fragrances!

I just did a review on this recently, but the more I wear it the more I wanted to do an updated review! So this actually smells near identical to Wild Glow by J-Lo! It’s so fruity tropical sweet and fresh!! It’s so pretty!!!

Really good. nothing groundbreaking, but stil a very nice summer scent. a mood lifter, reasonably priced. i would repurchase. Could have better longevity and Sillage though.
I think it suits all ages. it does not scream “young” on your face, nor “party animal” i think it has more a “a relaxing day in a luxus spa” vibe.
    Note: 8/10

So, I was in Kohls the other day and grabbed a box of what I thought was turquoise summer. Turns out it was this. I’ve owned at least six of the Escada fragrances over the years, and let’s be honest, they’re all kinda the same. Fruity, tropical , fleeting , and about one step up from a BBW spray, but easy. I realized I bought the wrong one, but figured , hey , they’re almost always similar, how bad could it be? I actually don’t like it at all, now I’m stuck with 3.4 oz of it! I usually love coconut, but have realized there’s a difference between coconut notes, coconut water and coconut milk. This one has coconut milk, and to me it’s too creamy and almost greasy smelling ? Anyways, I’ll be looking to unload this one

  35. :

    3 out of 5

Another unexpected little scent, and sadly, a bit of a disappointment. Born in Paradise is not bad by any means, but it’s just so fleeting that it’s hard to appreciate. The opening is what really threw me as it smells like the red Hawaiian Punch that my kids drink on occasion. There’s also a milk-like undertone that makes me nauseous. A light sprinkle of coconut is mingled in, but by the time it really appears (in the dry down), the scent is so faint, it’s practically gone. It’s far more sugary fruit juice than tropical fruit cocktail, if that makes sense.
Longevity is only a couple of hours and projection is non-existent.
Again, it’s not bad, but I’m sad about this one. I feel like I should apologize for not liking it, and I’m not sure why.

Today I purchased a four piece collectors edition of escada fragrances! Cherry in the air, this one, turquoise summer and taj sunset! I love this one! Omg it smells amazing! It reminds me of summer so much! Like sunscreen fruity fun in the sun! I would say of the four it’s either my favourite or tied for 1st with turquoise summer! Truly enjoyable! If you aren’t into summery fruity girly fun scents, this would not be for you!

I like this frangrance. Maybe it is my favourite Escada.
Escada have been having very very sweet limited editions in the past years. I remember i once had a boss who used Pacific Paradise and Magnetism alternatively every day. For my untrained nose, both frangrance smells just the same. And i did not know whether it was her over liberal application or it was the frangrance, the scent left a heavy trail and it caused severe headache (imagine the scent sitting in a small air-tight office).I felt both frangrance was quite delicious and fruity juicy. But that memory stays with me to the point that i have abstained from using any Escada frangrance.
But Born in Paradise is different from the two mentioned (or it is becuase i spray lightly?). It did not have overwhelming oppressive sweetness. What it has is a fresh fruity rather than sticky fruity. I think the coconut is done better than Versace Noir. It is just new for me to have frangrance with coconut and pineapple and watermelon, as opposite to usual berry.
i like the commerical as well. Rather than putting up a glam or a swimsuit model or a nude model and displaying the frangrance bottle, the commerical actually shows the notes! I like the more ‘informative approach’!

i guess it got discontinued now, i’ve been looking for it for 4 days .. and when i finally found it in a shop it was only available as 100ml ( i never purchase the full sizes ) so i guess i’ll just keep looking ’till i find the 50ml , i adore this scent i have to get asap !!!!

I just love! Escada’s summer beachy scents. They are edt so no major longevity but in the summer it’s perfect , so fruity and suntan lotioney. A little coconut with some juicy tropical fruity cocktails. I’ll carry a small sprayer in my purse to refresh when needed. A real mood lifter.

  41. :

I wish I could smell what others are smelling in this fragrance! I got a sample in the hopes that it would be a great coconutty fruit cocktail, and I must admit, I am rather disappointed by the lack of sillage and longevity. In addition, I’m not entirely sure of what I’m smelling. It opens with a watery pineapple on my skin, then fades to the smell of Barbie. Not what I would picture Barbie wearing, but literally, the scent of an actual Barbie doll. I guess I’ve found my doll’s head fragrance, but it’s not really what I’m looking for. Very envious of those who smell the coconut!

  42. :

This is my all time fav. I save it for the hot summer nights. I wear it on my tan shimmery skin and lasts all night. I get mainly coconut but it is a very fresh scent not overwhelming.

  43. :

An extremely tropical perfume, drinks by the sea and summer parties with friends, trips to more tropical destinations, ours! I’m just traveling man! I love Summer! About the smell is a beautiful fruit cocktail very reminiscent of the smell of Malibu Run, the Watermelon gives ozônico touch, pineapple and coconut are the sweetest and most important part of perfume, other fruits are there but quiet and not so memorable! A beautiful fragrance -Escada for days of fun! Fixation is moderate and design at the beginning then calms the skin!

Just got it , it’s ok , still I think price is pretty high atm , it could’ve waited a bit but I wanted to have it , it’s a light edt , could be layered with smtng stronger ..

Don’t like this too much, it feels synthetic and gross on me. First time I kinda didn’t mind it but it makes me sick to smell this on me now. Oh well, pretty bottle for my vanity!

  47. :

    4 out of 5

This is far too coconutty for me. But if you like the thought of coconut meets pina colada meets suntan lotion you may like it. I would choose Taj Sunset instead.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

I LOVED the smell of this on paper, and requested a sample at Sephora. Once I went home and put it on, it was a different story altogether. I was really glad I didn’t put it on in public. It smelled terrible on me!
I don’t know what the note was, but whatever it was made me nauseous. It was overwhelming! Born in Paradise started to smell like sunscreen (which I’m allergic to, I think my body just can’t handle anything that hints at it!). I had to scrub it off HARD after a few minutes…and I still got whiffs of it at work the next day after showering and more scrubbing.
If it wasn’t for that one “something” that made it smell like sunscreen, I might have enjoyed the fragrance but I couldn’t smell past that disgusting note. Kind of disappointed, I wanted so much to enjoy it (love the summery concept and packaging).

  49. :

I bought this for the fun bottle, plus I wanted something light and sweet which I could bring with me on vacations. Born in Paradise seems to deliver in this respect – it’s a sweet flirty fruity scent, I get coconut and sweet pineapple, somewhat synthetic but pleasant. The longevity is decent, the only let down is projection – it sits very close to the skin, so not very noticeable to others. I’ve been sampling various Escada fragrances and this one passed the OK mark for me (possibly, the only decent Escada after Taj Sunset)

  50. :

    5 out of 5

I smelt this yesterday for the first time, and wow. It was so nice!!! It was like a summer holiday in a bottle. It reminded me of being on a beach covered in coconut scented sun cream whilst drinking cocktails. I can’t wait to buy this, i love it.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

I am a big fan of piña colada! So this perfume for me is just perfect ^^
PS: anyone knows when this limited edition runs out? I want to buy it, but as a student I don’t have so much money at the moment :’)

  52. :

    5 out of 5

This is not for me, for I am not a friend of the coconut note. I did buy this for my daughter though, because she loves coconut and this is a very subtle, fresh version of a tropical coconut fragrance. It is not one of those in-your-face-tropicals that Escada is famous of. I think this is more delicate and my daughter smells fabulous when she wears this.

  53. :

Thank God i found this!!!! Will wear it for my summer holiday next month to Phuket, Thailand

  54. :

I admire the Escada summer tropical surprises. For this year, coconut and pineapple are dominating. very fruity and nutty. i always wear it in the hot summer days.
This type of perfumes are used only for self feeling good. because of the weak longevity and sillage, we cannot attract others by it.

Juciy watermelon and soft, milky coconut, mmm!
This is soft, creamy, milky and aquatic all at once. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and the colours are stunning. It reminds me a little of Avon’s Tahitian Holiday in that it has that suncream scent.
I bought it for my brother’s beach loving girlfriend for her birthday and it came in this gorgeous giftset with a small picnic bag. It’s very tropical themed and if you know anyone that loves that colour scheme, this would make a beautiful gift.
I tested it on myself and the silliage is pretty good, about 2-3 hours.
    I give it an 8/10!

  56. :

I got this perfume in summer, and the notes are very much tropical! I would say that the basic note is coconut, strong fresh coconut. It’s warm and it’s also fresh at the same time! I did not like this scent unfortunately 🙁 Just because I feel like a youth/teen by spraying this on my skin… In my opinion I think this will suit younger girls better or just for an summer/tropical signature scent!

  57. :

    4 out of 5

Out of the 3 Escada fragrances I own, this one is probably my favourite. It’s very tropical, without being too sweet. It’s like most Escada scents, which are bright, fruity, in your face and playful. This one is nice for summer during the day or at night, I find it has a nice dry down that isn’t too daytime. I can really smell the coconut and fresh juicy tropical fruits. It’s been a good scent on me, I just wish this one lasted longer like my other ones.

  58. :

All I can say is ” wow “!! I got a chance to sample this and I fell in love. On the first spray you get coconut, pineapple and watermelon that makes your mouth water. Very tropical and not sickly sweet. Great summer scent but to be honest I would wear it all the time.

Such a greatness! This is my first Escada parfume.I felt very happy when I smelled it :). It’s full of joy! I’m thankfull for having this masterpiece. I feel fantastic wearing it.

A Piña Colada!!! Exactly for summery, warm days when you want to appear on a tropical island. I was able to distinguish the coconut smell among all the other fruits at the first sniff. This perfume has some kind of creamy accent which I am not a huge fan of, however it is not too strong and it is probably the coconut that soothes this for me. Also because of watermelon and pineapple I think I also get that dusty airy feeling, and still it is in no way overwhelming, so I totally enjoy the whole experience. I got quite a lot of compliments on this.

  61. :

For me, this opens with the slightly nauseating smell of jolly ranchers bathed in chemicals, which then gives way to the overbearing odor of air freshener. This definitely doesn’t invoke visions of a tropical Eden, let alone anything else that occurs in nature.

  62. :

    5 out of 5

This perfume is Paradise in a bottle. The base is extremely creamy after the initial burst of coco milk, fruity tropical fruits, mixed berries and vanilla.
This smells tropical, aquatic and fresh to me. It absolutely reminds me of Bath and Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla but this is much creamier, much more tropical smelling, less berries and has that expensive feel into it.
I can also see the resemblance of this one in Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy but this one is better for me as it’s creamier and luscious while BS Midnight Fantasy is more powerful, intense, attention grabbing and more on the berries side. This is just-right sweet, soft and much lighter.
THIS SMELLS LIKE: BBW Black Raspberry Vanilla (creamier version), Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy (softer version), Escada Pacific Paradise (due to the touch of sugary banana) and Escada Island Kiss (a little hint of sweet tropical mango-ish feel). – BELIEVE ME, I HAVE ALL OF THEM. THEY’RE IN THE SAME FAMILY. GO FIGURE! *winks
I’m not sure why but I can also smell creamy banana but not the typical banana bomb on your face. Coco is not that much in here. More of a milky milky creamy coco. Very tropical and sugary yet stays light, soft and smells quite expensive! Overall, I love it and will definitely buy more as it lasts forever! For me, this is Fruity-Fresh Gourmand. Haha. Whatever. It’s so delightful!

Very fruity, summery and tropical. I wore this today and caught a whiff of it while in the produce section of the grocery store, and it took me a second to realize it was me and not the fruit salad. This is fun for summer and has a lightly creamy base. It’s not my typical scent, and skews young and teenager-y to me, but I won’t mind using up my sample.

I had to try this perfume on and I was so disappointed:(. I do agree with the comment below, this perfume reminded me of midnight fantasy, although it is quite a bit more settle and not fruity straight away in an annoying way, still it is similar to midnight fantasy -witch I wish I can get red of it_. It is weird that Escada came up with such a scent, maybe I expected something more like into the blue, and signature. I wanted to try it so bad so that I can buy it and add a gorgeous bottle of perfume to my collection, but now I will not!!!…It is sad:(

So I had to have this one and ordered a full sized bottle… Only thing is, when I tried it at home I came to think of Fantasy, and BonBon….. which I can’t stand 🙁 but I do still like this one! Maybe it’s a lot more like Midnight Fantasy, which is perfectly ok…
What I wanted to say was, this fragrance smells delicious but sadly reminds me too much of Fantasy :

A nice, fruity summer smell. A fruit cocktail with a bit of cream, very well mixed: the coconut isn’t too dominant, and it’s sweet but not too much so. I don’t think it smells especially cheap; it doesn’t have that synthetic vibe. It is simple and straightforward, however – not at all complicated or mysterious or sophisticated or even serious. That’s not a bad thing; at the right time it can be just what the doctor ordered, it’s just so happy and carefree! In that sense it’s probably more fitting for young people (if they’re lucky enough to be carefree, of course), but in my opinion it’s great for the lighter moments at any age. Very suitable for holidays in the sun, for instance, but obviously not as suitable for Business Women who dress to impress (unless maybe lightly sprayed on the wrist, to use as a pick-me-up when no one is looking, I can easily imagine that!)
I have a big sample of this that’ll last me for some time, but I’ll keep my eyes open for a promotion on a bottle of this. Longevity is quite good for a summer fruit perfume as well!

Escada used to be my favorite fragrance brand when I was in my late teens and early 20s. Haven’t used them in almost 10 years now. I have fond memories of Escada, but something in me has labeled it as a ‘teen’ perfume.
To my excitement I received a tester of Born in Paradise last week – felt truly exciting to test Escada again after so many years!
I can honestly say I was wrong about the ‘teen perfume’ – it’s not a teen scent, even though very young and suitable for young people. It’s just that sometimes when you use something during a certain period of time, you associate it to that phase of life – perfumes are a great example of that.
I remember now why I loved Escada perfumes so much, and regret having such a long break from them!
Born in Paradise is fun, young and tropical. Very summery. It smells like coconut and pineapple, with other exotic fruits in it.
It’s a light perfume, but in its lightness there’s also something heavy/rich about it – if you think about how coconut smells like, it’s not a light scent. So in that sense Born in Paradise is not a refreshingly light perfume, if that’s what you’re looking for.
I live in a hot climate, and regardless of sweating in the sun the fragrance has good lasting power! I detect it for hours after spraying, regardless of the sweating.
I will definitely buy a bottle of this, and can recommend anyone who likes tropical scents to at least test it!

The name should rather be ‘Locked up in Coconut Hell’… Ok, not necessarily ‘hell’ but at least ‘shell’. If you like to smell like coconut instead of consuming one, you should give it a try. Besides that overwhelming note, it’s quite nice and could be fun if layered with something juicier/fruitier/fresher.

I have this fragrance now and I really like it. It is not the best one I had, but made for summer. It lasts approx 3-4 hours on me and I can still smell it during this time. It´s fresh, watery, I smell more pineaple and musk then cocount. I would recommend it. I think you cannot do anything wrong with this fragrance also as a gift 🙂

Escada Born in Paradise was an impulse buy on a grey day when I was tired and bored and desperately longed for warmer weather and a vacation from work. The tropical notes, the turquoise bottle, an the NAME! I just had to have it.
It is a nice fragrance indeed, warm, happy and fun, excellent for a beach vacation I would assume. However in my everyday life in the cold Nordic climate, with kids and work and duties, it just doesn’t blend in. It makes me feel awkward, like I’m carrying a green parrot on my shoulder or something. Not re
