Yes…I voted for the similar vibe with Code Profumo by Armani, but Bois Dore leans more feminine on me. Almonds and Tonka are the main players here … and the sweet aura is probably given by the somptuous dose of Vanilia.
And no… I’m not getting Tom Ford’s FF unique aromatic – almondy smell. I would love this on a woman, I think is to sweet for a man, altough I bought Code Profumo for my boyfriend.

Sweet, woody, a bit smokey and really golden. A very nice fragrance for cold weather, more feminine than unisex im my opinion. I didn‘t found it similar to Tom Ford‘s FF. FF is more masculine and fresh. I actually prefer Fucking Fabolous, but Bois Doré is also very good.

sweet tonka bomb although I was thinking iris to begin with.
if you like this then you might like code profumo

A sweet, pleasing, unisex woody fragrance, this one really has nothing in it to offend any sensibility. The perfume has a very brief opening where one detects pepper and some mineral notes before it settles into its dense powdery heart which stays for the length of the perfume. This heart is composed of cedar, vanilla, tobacco and almond. As the perfume completely dries off, one can detect hints of musk, tonka bean and teak. Beautifully blended with moderate sillage, projection and longevity. This is a very safe office scent that can be worn by anyone, anywhere and in any season. Enjoy!

I get the comparisons to TF FF I really do but this stuff is a much more straight forward gourmand fragrance, lacking the edge or interest that the Tom Ford had for me. Don’t get me wrong this is a sensual vanilla/tonka with lashings of almond milk in a sweet, luxurious mixture. It’s of great quality and lasts well, but not a fragrance of interest for me personally.

Bois Doré starts out very dry and powdery and then it turns into this beautiful soft woody, sweet, powdery tonka bean. It is very creamy, almondy and almost gourmand like, but more on a softer skin scent side. Very classy and subtle fragrance with an interesting character which comes from the mineral notes and the musk note. I do smell the tobacco but just enough to give it a nice volume. So if you are looking for a tobacco fragrance this is not it. The initial spray is very powdery but give it time. I like this a lot, is definitely different and beautiful.

Bois Dore is a great and sexy scent but not on my skin. It gets very male’ish – in a good way, I must say. On my skin I get Tonka, Tobacco, dark woodsy notes and Ceder and the mix turns male’ish.

Bois Doré is from “collection extraordinaire”. Is it really extraordinary though?
The associations I get from this are: cashmere, calm winter nights, fireplace, creme brulé.
Somewhat seducing, but mostly comforting, warm, close to skin perfume.
Suitable for day and night, but even better before bedtime. On me personally, Bois Doré doesn’t last even 5 hours, what left is a soft tonka bean dry down.
So, even if this isn’t really an extraordinary perfume, overall smoothness and roundness of notes here are very much enjoyable.

Oh my goodness. Bowled over by a sample which meant for a day and a half I had my nose glued to my wrist, I went for a full bottle and I’m so glad I did. It’s an ethereal wonder of loveliness , wispy and smokey and almost just out of reach if that makes the remotest sense. It dries down with a beautiful woods scent you can’t put your finger on – powdery yes but I’m a fan of powder. Kind of otherworldly. Layers well too when I’ve been hankering for it and spritzed it over other scents. It blooms on my skin. Very happy.

i love this. it feels very warm, sexy and comforting.
Yes it is sweet but not cloying. This is a proper ‘grown up’ earthy sweetness.
I get a lot of compliments when wearing this but i have noticed that they are usually from women. Men tend to be either ambivalent or dislike it while women think it is beautiful.

I guess I might be an odd one out here but I do like it if a perfume doesn’t change all too much over time.
This one opened very gourmand for me, warm, sweet, and in the background some woody incense smell that makes me think of cozy fireplaces in winter.
Every now and then, the wood pops up with a slight turpentine hint, but the Tonka stays present, and that’s what I love!
To me, the musk gives it a tiny tinge of “fresh in from the cold outside air”, which again I associate with winter. Plus it has the added bonus that musk, on me, means nice long staying power!
I just might put this one on my wishlist for upcoming gift season…
Edited to add: the test spritz (and it was only one) lasted well beyond my evening shower, I could still smell it the next day. I would however want another test before finally deciding, because I’d like to sniff all the stages again.

On my skin, Bois Doré smells pretty much like how the note list would imply: a thin, one-dimensional woody amber aromachemical, embarking the typical sharp smoky woods like those in many Nasomatto fragrance and a subtle, monotonous plum liqueur-like tartness. The tonka note here, or whatever materials to evoke tonka, doesn’t translate to the fascinating bitter almond and the enveloping, pillowy sensation. Instead, there’s a dull, play-doh-like vanilla (or rather something akin to vanillin) hanging around to soften the dry woody amber. The overall smell is quite similar to the typical niche unisex woody amber fragrances that are growing ever more numerous these days.
I get a medium sillage and an 8-hour-longevity on my skin.
I’m sorry to report that I’m very disappointed by Bois Doré. On the one hand, I’m growing tired of the trend of forceful woody amber aromachemicals. On the other hand, Bois Doré simply didn’t show the elegant balance of most of its siblings, and it feels rather opportunistic to jump on a popular bandwagon. Personally, I would not particularly recommend this fragrance, unless one happens to enjoy woody amber with a certain smoky sharpness.
