Bois de Hadrien isn’t what I would have expected from a ‘woody’ fragrance: the opening is very much dominated by an almost-fougère leafy/grassy green accord that drys off to open up a noticeable lime and spiced layer which gives the strong evergreen woody notes a certain mentholated character.
This somewhat sticky-sweet lime unfortunately adds a toilet cleaner edge to what would otherwise be a nice leafy fragrance.

@Havanti i noticed a familiar smell too and it’s the citrus woods in SJP Covet, which do appear to dominate both fragrances.
having never smelt Eau D’Hadrien, but enjoying several Goutals in my collection, I don’t think this stands out as not smelling from the same house, despite its possible sharing of a sweetish woodsy lemony something with Covet.
I find this a pleasant, warm, buttery lemon (although it is supposed to be lime), with some slightly sweet woods. it feels quite syrupy somehow in texture, rather than zesty, aromatic and green as those notes suggested to me. nevertheless, I really enjoy wearing this for its uplifting sultry lemons and its resemblance to something I also enjoy in Nuit Etoilee EDP and my fondness as a child, for sweets called Murray Mints, which had that same buttery thing going on.
Must try Eau D’Hadrien.

This perfume isn’t very unique to me. It smells a lot like BBW White Citrus scent. After several hours, its a mix of BBW White Citrus + VS Bombshell on me. Nice, but not worth a full bottle. Nice warm weather scent.

Contrary to Eau d’Hadrien, I can barely smell any lime or lemon in Bois d’Hadrien, only a vague suggestion of a fresh fruity opening. And in a sense true to its name, Bois d’Hadrien indeed feels quite woody. However, these woody notes don’t really have any charming characteristics of specific wood, either, but more like an abstract fruity woody note with certain similarities to Cashmeran. And it even turns a bit aridly smoky in the dry down, somewhat similar to the unpleasant effect of certain woody amber aromachemicals quite common these days.
Probably thanks to these potent molecules, the projection of Bois d’Hadrien is rather heavy, and it can cling on skin for at least 10 hours. But in return, I find Bois d’Hadrien lacks urgently the subtle, poetic beauty of previous creations from the house of Goutal. As a result, I would not particularly recommend this fragrance, especially if you happen to be fan of Goutal’s offerings before 2012 which feel completely different in style with Bois d’Hadrien.
As a side note, the spray mechanism of the new packaging is much better than the older Goutal sprayer! It gives out a very uniform spray and is much easier to press.

This has a very familiar smell that I can’t quite put my finger on. The pine and fir make it comparable to Nuit Etoilee. Very woody and slightly spicy, but with very little resemblance to Eau d’Hadrien. Unfortunately, it has terrible projection and longevity. Definitely not worthy of the EDP concentration status. I won’t be repurchasing.
EDIT: This seems to perform better in warmer weather. Longevity is good, but projection is still lacking; although very good in the first hour.
