Description

Bois D`argent is a part of the collection of three fragrances: Bois D`argent, Eau Noire and Cologne Blanche. All three bottles were designed by Hedi Slimane, who was in charged for Dior’s prestige Pour Homme pret-a-porter collection. Annick Menardo is the creator of this unisex fragrance. Aromatic juniper berries, smelling dry and fresh, cypress and cold – powdery iris create the top of the composition. The heart is sweet – woody with an intensive aroma of incense, contributed by Somalia myrrh, patchouli creating winey, woody aroma, characterizing chypre fragrances. The base adds up warmly and sensual with vanilla, musk, amber, woody notes, honey and leather scent. The perfume has been on market since 2004, as well as the other two, available as 125, 250 and 500 ml eau de cologne.

It gives a wearer that WOOF factor making you feel like a “million bucks”, in almost a vintage kinda way…makes you want to look in a mirror and touch yourself inappropriately and shamelessly.
It is always certain to provoke heads turn, when you pass by wearing it.

It reminds me of some dry tea leaves … I still need some time to understand why people are obsessed with it.

It makes me really sad to read reviwes from people that seem to lack reason, to say the least. In one hand, some compared this to other scents in a way almost criminal. They compare a piece of pashimina that is intended to be cosy to a flashy cocktail jacquet. What’s the point, if they are worlds apart and have their own merits? One thing is one thinhg, another thing is another thing. On the other, they complain about its own very nature, suaveness, coolness, distant beaty, cold blond?, profesional, mature, upscale, upbriging, posh, etc…
One doesn’t need to like this sort of scent, that’s very fair. But please don’t trash things just because you don’t like.
Bois d’Argent is a sublime eau de cologne like scent with a strengh of a titan. And it is really difficult to describe it because BdA is also very abstratct.
The only other scent that comes to my mind in comparison is Boy de Chanel, that I think would be great under the name of bois d’Or. That’s the main difference between them, colour. They are both very precious. Very expensive every day scent.
    Have a nice day!

Probably too fem for a guy. It’s truly stunning and creates a cloud-like aura around you, but I think it’s just a little too soft and beautiful for a guy to wear.

Upon spraying this perfume unto my wrist, it feels as if I’m in a warm forest filled with the sun’s rays, deep pine woods with the scent of the flowers and herbs illuminating from the earth’s warmth.
The first impression is strong but slowly softens to a luxurious yet comfortable scent.
The woody, earthy and spice notes are what I detect first. The honey and vanilla creep in when the day is about to end, leaving behind a sweetened oud/amber scent.
A perfume many approve of back here in Qatar.

This smells like children’s dolls and toys sold in the 1980s. Like the hair of a My Little Pony or the plastic butt of Strawberry Shortcake.

Powder, honey and vanilla- that’s what I smell, and it’s quite enjoyable. The concept behind this perfume is great: delicate powdery notes embracing gourmand and woody accords, yet the scent stays light and crystalline. If it were a musical composition, I think it would be Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky. If it were a fictional character, it would be the Snow Queen. I simply can’t put into words the magic of this perfume, you should give it a try. Sillage and longevity are not that great, though, which is a shame or, maybe, part of its charm- Bois d’argent wouldn’t be as fascinating if it were loud and aggressive.

A powdery, natural smelling iris, myrrh with vanilla nuance and a little wood. A definite sweet vibe to Bd’A from the honey. Smells high quality and smooth. I’m reminded a little of a chocolaty marshmallow. Reminds me of Dior Homme as well but sweeter.
I’d say this scent is mature. Unisex but leans feminine. Definitely for cooler weather. Sexy, more formal but okay for the office. Projection and sillage are about average. Only lasted about six hours before becoming soft. If you’re buying the 250ml bottle (which admittedly is a life time supply) ml for ml this isn’t a bad price though it should last a little longer. Quite a bit cheaper than many Creed scents. I liked the simple elegant bottle. Dior sprayers are excellent and the magnetic cap is a nice touch. For me Dior Homme does Bois d’Argent’s job in my wardrobe; though Bd’A performs better. Too much sweetness for me. Still a great scent!

    Earthy – airy – powdery
    Color impression: light silver
Light as feather and air, and luminous as sun behind a layer of silver clouds, Bois d’Argent is by far the very fragrance to pair with Christian Dior’s noble designs. With feminine face of iris and wood’s masculinity, it displays a muted intimacy of an earthy flower and wood with slight accent of oriental resinous rendition to give it a delightful sweet mystery. It’s sheer and shiny like silk on naked skin, and skin-fitting like newly-washed porcelain feminine body. Great touch of musky notes guarantees a whole day performance with silence projection. Some treasures are not to be spoken loudly.

After an initial blast of dry and powdery iris, this settles down to a honeyed vanilla with a vaguely woody, resinous base wafting in the background. Very pleasant but nothing to write home about. Reminds me somewhat of Diptyque Eau Duelle, another sweet vanilla-resin combo that for me, both has better sillage and is more interesting with its use of spices livening up the sweetness.

This is a nice resin, amber, myrhh, leather, with a hint of honey in the fragrance. Those are the notes I am able to pick out from start to finish.
Very nice, long lasting, unisex fragrance.
Can’t speak badly about this scent.
I will cherish this ten ml decant I was given in a swap.
But I don’t see myself, outright buying this fragrance.
If someone got this for me, as a gift… I’d take it quick, fast & in a hurry from them and say thank you.
    But I wouldn’t spend $250 to $325 for it.
    IMHO…
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.
    Will I buy this again?…No.
What’s the strength of this? EDP.
Can you use it as a unisex scent? Yes.
Am I willing to trade this fragrance? No.
Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? I say Sample it first.
Is it the old, new formulation? New.
What’s its availability; in production, limited edition or discontinued? In production.

When it comes to fragrances, there’s always a lot of hype when it comes to big names, regardless of how they really smell. That to me is the case here, but Bois D’argent falls short in terms of “identity” if I may. The scent is unique enough, but I cannot really picture a setting where this fragrance would really shine.
Rather than splurging on a blind purchase (and this would be quite the expensive one!) I purchased a 2ml vial. Upon smelling this for the first few seconds, it immediately reminded me of my high school years and the way one of my ex’s smelled with a sweet/powdery body spray, or my childhood physician’s office. Neither of which are particularly flattering in my opinion.
The sillage is excellent. You can smell it around the neck and wrist within about half a meter. Longevity is incredible. These are great things if you’re a fan of the scent to begin with. But for me, this scent is sweet, sweet and more sweet, in a subtle way.
A more feminine than masculine smell in my humble opinion. The top note of Iris and middle note of Patchouli are quite noticeable, they linger and don’t really let up. The base note of Honey never seems to leave either, which I think is probably my gripe with this particular scent. There’s little change in the dry down from what I perceive. The leather comes along, but not without the honey, not without the everlasting powder effect. I feel that there is not enough dynamic from note to note to give this scent that “je ne sais quoi”
As a 31 year old male, I’m glad I didn’t purchase the full bottle. There are much better, more masculine scents out there, for far less money. That is my 2 cents.
    Personal: 4/10
Quality: 8/10 (the extra 2 being the lack of change in the dry down)

Absolutely amazing fragrance, little bit sweeter so it is more on the feminine side but it is masterfully crafted and it performs well into 9 hours, with regards to all the negative comments those must have either tested fakes or suffered from anosmia.

  14. :

This is a “root beer” scent. The combination of myrrh and iris often leads to a smell very reminiscent of root beer, root beer candies to be specific. Acqua di Parma Mandorlo smells like root beer, too. It’s powdery, sweet, light. On my skin it’s hyper feminine. Very linear.
Longevity is decent for my dry skin: 4-6 hours. Sits close to the skin quickly.
A 6.75/10. It’s a good suit and tie scent for the right guy. I’m not able to pull off feminine-leaning scents…must be the beard and build.

  15. :

I really hope I got a fake sample because all I get is sawdust, sweet honeyed urine and a quiet musk; like the bottom of a dirty cage belonging to a hamster with a weak bladder and an insatiable appetite for honey (the likes of which would shock even the Pooh Bear, Winnie) 1/5

absolutely terrible performance. a skin scent from the off. such a shame as it smells great but whats the point.cant believe the price with this kind of strength. it must have been better in the past looking at older reviews. why dior. ??.

barely there scent that is all about vanilla, a boozy, woody, resinous vanilla that you have to douse in then keep holding your nose to your skin to smell. The top was a dose of alcohol that burned off quickly.

Incredible cloud like iris with honey and woods. One of the fragrances that made me fall in love with this hobby. Creamy iris with a touch of sweet honey but backed up with woods to make sure it stays perfectly unisex.

What can be said about masterpiece Bois D’Argent that hasn’t already been said below? If I ever win the lottery and trade in my jeans and tee shirts for Berluti and Dries Van Noten suits, I will buy the biggest bottle of Bois D’Argent and wear it everyday. Gorgeous doughy orris, arid, fuzzy incense and expensive leather handbag scent. With the perfect amount of honeyed sweetness to round the sharp edges of the wood and leather. It’s just too damn fancy for everyday wear. Doesn’t suit my style and I feel like it wears me. Shame. If they ever make a body lotion or shower gel, I’m ready with my credit card.
Based on some of the reviews, I wonder if they changed the formula? I bought a decant and it lasts a good 6-8 hrs and is quite strong (albeit in a cuddly, plush way) and I need 4 sprays max. Also it should smell heavenly like buttery, honeyed woods, decadent iris glueing everything together, and the buzz of cedar and suede and incense on the surface. Not everyone’s ideal scent, I’m sure, but unmistakably good quality and not particularly challenging. I hope to god they haven’t reformulated.
EDIT: Oh no! If the latest decant I purchased is legit then they have indeed reformulated and the new version sucks in comparison to the old. It’s been streamlined and each of the key notes have been rendered shallow, flat almost. It’s as if the original was a live performance and the reformulation is a canned recording played on cassette from an 80s boombox. Oh well. Find the original stock and hoard it, I guess.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE NANCYS ON HERE!! THIS JUICE IS AWESOME TO SAY THE LEAST! I HAVE TESTED OVER 300 TOP NICHE FRAGRANCES AND THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST SMELLING SCENTS I HAVE TRIED!!! 10/10 LASTS FOREVER ON THE SKIN TOO!

  22. :

Very light, very feminine. I’m not experienced enough to detect individual notes, but the main overall impression I have is the scent of tea. Or maybe it is the scent of the wooden box that might be used to store tea in Japan. That’s about the full extent of any wood (“bois”) that I can detect. People who are hoping for a classic woody scent should look elsewhere. Nor is there any oud, although that absence may be a relief for some.
Not really for me, but I can see why many people (especially women, or men who like very feminine scents) might like this, because of its subtlety and complexity. Personally I prefer something more substantial like Dior’s Leather Oud, which I think is great. But many of the people who like Bois d’Argent for its light, floral, fairy-like qualities would be horrified by the earthy sensuality of Leather Oud.
UPDATE: I gave this to my girlfriend and she loves it.

On rare occasions, when testing pefume, I do not get anything. I’ve noticed that perfumes with a high percentage of aromachemicals “ghost” and swerve on me. They play a nasty game of peekaboo.
This perfume has a 10 second cool powdery opening and then is GONE. Then it’s back. When I get occasional wisps of it it’s nice.
I suspect this has silage, but I can’t smell it clearly, and when it’s skin pressed to nose–NOTHING. When I walk into a room where I’ve sprayed this it’s lovely, and then gone!!!
So I cannot confirm the notes listed above which are totally up my alley.
The dry down smells like a licorice artemisia skin scent, a bit of absinthe spilled on my skin.
I would try before I buy! I’m very puzzled by this perfume. I’ll try again in cooler weather.
Edit: After reading very mixed reviews…does anyone else notice that the real synth fragrances last forever…? Some very good quality ones do too, but reviews below are all over the place, with sillage being low, and longevity being long.
Edit: to my edit. This now smells, faintly up close skin scent like Lolita Lempicka….yet no artemisia listed or fennel…but the same designer, as I just now discovered. This is not like LL until the drydown skinscent, and then it’s there.

The prominent notes I get are Iris and Wood. To just say wood is quite general but the woodsy notes in here are unique and imho extremely well done in that they smell natural, dry and quite woody. Almost goes to a sandalwood but not quite.
I see the reviews below and I can see where they are coming from, I recently had a small decant I got from a reputable seller on ebay and I swear I smelt fish when I put my nose to the little plastic sprayer. However, now that I own a 450 ml bottle of this juice, I never have experienced that fishy smell. Also worth mentioning is that there seems to be no batch variation in this one, I have a fresh batch and very happy with it.
This is one of the all-time most unique and well-done fragrances imo. It smells like something you just couldn’t do with cheap ingredients. I think this is in my top 10 if not top 5 because I really enjoy it.
I swear I have noticed people following me at the grocery store and the other day I had this couple take a deep breathe of air when they approached me, they seemed to like it white a bit.
I have been thinking of a way to rate fragrances and I just do not want to do it, you may love what I hate. All I want to report is when I get from it… so let me try this.
    For me this fragrance is:
    Extremely Unique
It projects well on my skin
    Longevity is excellent for me
and the scent is something you need to learn to rock
I enjoy this one a lot and I am happy to have it in my collection for a longtime.

This smells like nasal snuff powder made of powdered tobacco & eucalyptus. I don’t get any honey, iris, patch.
People around me agreed that it smells like snuff powder.
Sometimes way down in the dry down i get chlorinated swimming pool water.
    Longevity: 8 hours
    Projection: 4/10

This is SUCH a hard one for me to review because I am split, 50/50 on it. I had high expectations for bois d’argent based on reviews and let me tell you, it does NOT disappoint. what disappoints is my freaking skin chemistry that seems to HATE iris with a passion. Iris silver mist by SL, what many deem a “unicorn scent” is like spraying metallic cat piss all over my flesh, it literally makes the hairs in my nostrils curl.
Bois d’argent has noticeable iris in it. I’m not sure what fresh iris is supposed to be smell like, i haven’t had many experiences with it. So whether or not the iris is strong or realistic in this, i cannot say. But what I can say is that mixed with honey, it definitely showcases itself via my flesh in the scent of moldy, sharp cat pee. The cat pee is accompanied by pencil shavings and for a minute there, I smell like a wet hamster cage where the shavings are covered with…urine. So, iris, honey and cypress/woods, definitely coming out strong in the first 10 minutes.
15 minutes or so later… my skin absorbs the urine scent and turns it into damp basement moldy, BUT thankfully the resins and sweet notes start to cover it up. This is where I think the scent truly becomes divine, some kind of masterpiece. It’s like…sweetness mixed with woods but not overdone or typical as expected, with a hint of spice and sophistication. If the iris/honey note worked with my skin chemistry I would be bending over backwards to get myself a huge bottle of this. I have never smelled it on anyone else but I can imagine it being magical.
It’s been over 12 hours now and I can still smell the scent on my wrists, post 2-showers. The other Dior fumes from this collection also have incredible longevity so I am not surprised this would keep going. However, it is a skin scent- it stays very close to the skin which probably makes it sexy, as I can imagine someone wearing this (with their skin chemistry working) and attracting all kinds of attention. I am debating whether or not to buy a bottle of it even though the initial burst doesn’t work with my skin. I’m thinking I can get over it and accept this scent unconditionally. Or…just spray it on my clothes?

  29. :

The best way I can describe this fragrance is “Divine”. It is very simple boasting a soft honey like note that I did not think I would like so much but it quickly found its way to my heart. The subtle sweetness grows and grows for hours, 6+ very easily in an overnight test. This is one of my favorites – Well done.

  30. :

I think this one is the most comforting scent that I’ve ever smelled. It is airy and balsamic at the same time and becomes sweeter as it develops… It has a slight gourmand touch with a lovely creamy aspect.
Bois d’argent is soft and makes you think of sweet dreams 🙂
    8/10

I really like this perfume, it’s so warm, sweet, calming and sensual. I detect a singular mix of spices on a honey base with a hint of iris. It’s the kind of perfume which i like wearing during summer nights, when I have tanned skin. I think it would be nice on a man too, I guess that Prince would have worn this one! I got so many compliments on it, but I stopped wearing it because it’s too popular in my town and I prefer using less recognizable perfumes… maybe I’ll buy it again in the future.

Rum and raisin ice cream dripping off a buttery smooth black leather jacket.
Very well done. Would have loved it if it came in a smaller size (75ml would have been perfect) as I don’t see this as a daily scent, but more for that special occasion where indulgence and luxury are called for.

Oh Martin! Your review is so good! It really explained to me how I sense/smell this beautiful fragrance. So true. Such a lovely picture! Thank you.
I love Bois d’Argent! It’s really sumptuous. Elegant and refined, feminine and deep. Fresh, dry and sweet, warm, comforting, woodsy and herby – simply gorgeous!

  34. :

Wow… This is so cozy fragrance. So warm and delightful.
Actually, while wearing it, I can’t detect notes. It’s a picture, maybe more pictures, a vision. Sitting in front of the fireside in a living room, at home. With a cup of hot milk with honey infused inside. Woods are burning, I can smell it. And the smell of the melted resins that were inside them. I’ve got an amber based perfume on me. And I can smell all that: the smell of hot milk, the smell of woods, the smell of resins.
Projection is soft, logevity is more than half a day.
Beautiful, warm, comforting scent. I guess it’s another must have for me…

  35. :

I don’t like this fragrance even though it is well blended, and I can’t find flaws in it as a whole.
It tries to be an Amouage or Xerjoff in terms of complexity, but has no chance standing up against them. Yet, it is as expensive as some if not more. Not worth the money.

  36. :

As winter approaching in Thailand, the weather is getting cold. Finally, I had a chance to wear this perfume and I was stunned by it.
At first spray, it gave me a Dior Homme vibes, just because it had some notes as Dior Homme like Iris, leather and vanilla. But this one smells smoother, sweeter than Dior Homme in my opinion.
Sillage wise, this fragrance have moderate sillage not too heavy just made people walking by stop and asking you what fragrance are you wearing.
Over all, I really loved this fragrance. It very classy, smooth and sexy. If someone who love Dior Homme might love this fragrance as well as me.

It seems the two notes most notice or that people seem to love about this fragrance is the iris and the myrrh. For me it’s actually a turn-off, so much so that in the beginning I think of the top notes as rather dry.
I love the iris in Dior’s Eau for men but here it paints, for the first two to three hours, a rather drab picture. Also, like so many mention on the internet through various review sites, this scent sits close to the skin with an average lifespan.
The part I do like is the second half of it’s existence, I was able to make out a green and sweet aroma that impressed me, is it the cypress and honey?
I felt let down at first, it seems my interpretation or what my nose picks up is much different from that of others, glad I didn’t wash it off after a couple of hours.

  41. :

I liked other iris scents such as DHI and Valentino Uomo Intense. So I thought I would try this.
I just found it to far on the feminine side, the iris and vanilla tone smells great, but personally just not for a man. I think it might have been the combo of leather in my other iris scents that made them masculine.
Another comment on the Dior Prive line, Ambre Nuit is still my favourite after sampling this

this is totally beautiful perfume. soft, close to the skin.unisex, but more to feminine side i would say. one of the most beautiful scents i’ve ever tried. it remind me of my childhood summers in the village. warm, bees are saving nectar from flowers blossoms, buzzing around 🙂 this is like you sit under the tree in empty field and watch in to the beautiful summer sky. loved this perfume and i think ill purchase another decant of it,as full bottle is really too pricey to me 🙁

This is my favourite fragrance in the world, but similarly to the others in the same line, I didn’t like it at first. If you find it weird or uninteresting at first just give it a few more shots before writing it off. It’s my most peaceful fragrance, just a perfect composition.

  44. :

Bois D`argent Christian Dior is an excellent woody fragrance with hints of iris and myrrh. It’s hard to say what all the notes are, as this one is a bit subdued. Agreed with others who say it has massive longevity but not a lot of projection. It smells really good for the fall and winter. Probably unisex, but masculine enough for a man to wear on the right occasion. Glad I have this one.

After a full wearing, I figured out what this smells like. I thought it was the smelly markers that kindergartners use but it’s not. I remember it was something from my childhood but I couldn’t put my finger on it until now. Smencils. They’re scented pencils made from recycled newspaper and it’s exactly what this smells like. For that reason, I can’t see myself smelling like that so I will not be purchasing a bottle. MAYBE if it was cheaper but $300 to smell like smencils is outrageous. Longevity is beast. Projection is average.

  46. :

First impression: This was not at all what I was expecting after watching reviews. This has a weird note in it and it just hit me. The smelly markers that you or your kid used to draw with in kindergarten. The brown smelly marker is exactly what this smells like, with the powdery midnight in Paris background. I really need to wear this on my skin. Before I can fully judge, but for my first impression, this smells weird lol.It almost has a Christmasy vibe to it. Very elegant and sophisticated in the same way that Royal Oud by Creed is. I’m getting a strong anise note that is very reminiscent of black liquorice. this fragrance has a lot of depth and I will add another review after more testing. But the best way to describe the scent is, you take the rubber note out of Midnight in Paris, and replace it with the smell of the brown smelly markers you used in kindergarten. That’s the most spot on description I can give.

It is a nice smell, it is smooth, educated and high class to say the least..however….I do not believe it is worth the money, performance is way to subtle to pay all that…I found ambre nuit to be a great smell as well and a better value for the money….

I ordered a sample of this and Bois d’iris as I love woody iris scents and I wanted to compare them. It was a very interesting comparison and I gave a day’s wear to each of them with a pretty liberal (over 1ml) application.
As soon as I sprayed this one I was reminded of Bois d’iris – the sweet, plush opening and buttery iris. However, very quickly a more woody, aromatic, almost saline, group of notes came forward. This made it feel cooler and more transparent than the VC&A scent. It also felt thinner, and it grew thinner still until it became a skin scent within about an hour.
Unfortunately it was barely detectable on my skin and it didn’t resurface or throw up any wafts of scent again. There is absolutely no way I would purchase this; you’d get better sillage from a bar of soap.

so happy I wasn t fooled by Dior this time and I was so so damn close to buy it in blind. What a mistake, God! So, thanks to a sample that came in the right time, I was able to save my money. Watered, like a body-perfume, the smell is nice, nothing spectacular but sexy and nice, nothing else. After 30 min, I realized that in an hour it will disappear, and I was right. The sillage is existent only in first 15 minutes, so the middle and dry down can t be detected by anyone except you and with huge efforts.
The iris is the only thing that barely remains, in some resins. Therefore, (for me, at least) a HUGE mistake that I avoided, thank s God. Don t waste your money, try it and decide it.

Bois d’argent is a very elegant, intimate and velvety perfume. It’s all about the natural, expensive and unique aroma of the iris root. And as you can expect it is rooty, powdery and carroty. All the beauty of this precious extract is perfectly presented here. I think this is the best quality of iris fragrance I know. It is not as sweet as the similar Bois d’iris by VC&A, which is something I like. But it is a bit too muscy, which I dont like. At the beginning you can feel a natural incence note, which makes this perfume even more vibrant and luxurious. Excellent!

First spray iris and woody a little sweet after 45-50 minutes Vanilla, honey amber and soft leather on my skin. Yes bittersweet but something is disturbing me i think is myrrh but i’m not sure.
last word, “I am not a fan of this scent but it is a compliment magnet on me”

I get fresh juniper berries & cypress. Powdery iris and earthy patchouli are very light to make it powdery. I get the most are sweet honey, vanilla, myrhh, amber and woody note. Very warmly and sensual. I never smell any perfume like this. outstanding, elegance, precious and sexy.

Bois D’Argent by Christian Dior is a resinous smoky woodsy autumn fragrance, completely unisex, and absolutely divine. The scent opens with cypress scents that are very woodsy from the start. It smells a lot like a man’s cologne and skips citrus and goes straight to the wood notes. The singular floral note here is an iris flower. It’s very clearly there and on me it turns only the slightest bit powdery but this is no powder. It’s a little fleeting iris scent, smells really pretty and puff it’s gone in a second. The patchouli takes over the iris scent and it begins to do it’s aromatic dance. The scent progresses into a deeper smokier fragrance. There’s myrrh, incense and resins. All of these scents are warmed up with a dollop of honey. I can detect the honey after the woodsy notes dissipate somewhat. It’s a gorgeous honey and even comes with a hint of vanilla flavor. This is not a super sweet fragrance however. It turns into a dark smoky mysterious incense scent. That incense lingers for hours and then after smelling it all day I detect amber and musk. It’s really more on the masculine side. It feels like Dior made this for men, or as a unisex fragrance for both men and women. If you like aromatic fragrances, chypres and incense, patchouli frags, Bois D’Argent would be a treat. It’s like the Dior version of my favorite patchouli in Chanel’s 31 Rue Cambon. A gorgeous gorgeous fragrance. It wears better in cold weather. It’s a winter fragrance that keeps you warm with it’s honey and incense. Smells luxurious woodsy and expensive. One of the most beautiful chypres from Dior.

I fell in love with this perfume two years ago, my sister in law had it and on her i believe i can really smell the paradise. Now i’ve received, and I have to say i am very disapponted cause it’s sillage is nothing on me, and the note that i can smell in my sister in law are disappear leaving only a skin scent of a greasy old soap! Can’t describe how sad is have wasted so much money for nothing at all! I hate my skin

I recently did a sample swap so I was lucky enough to try Bois D`argent. (Thanks Todd!) After spraying this one, my initial impression was cooked Spinach and hay. Really? Yes, really. I was a bit surprised at that, but that is what I get on my skin. After a bit I start to get a herbal, creamy orange scent come through. Followed by a powdery Iris scent. In the final dry down it turns into a delicious dusty, woody honeycomb scent. The final dry down is the best part of this fragrance IMO.
It has poor to moderate project and longevity on my skin. I am glad I tried it, but this one is a pass for me. If they could capture just the dry down and give it much better projection and longevity I would be interested in it.
