    Is the wind blue?
By definition, the wind is air in movement, and air a complex combination of gases resulting in an odorless, tasteless and colorless element. Aromas, however, may perfume the air and make breezes pleasant or not to our sense of smell; but to make it colorful we would need to fill the air with thick smoke.
Yet, despite all this useless argument that went on in my mind when starting my review, I confess that the last thing I considered in purchasing this perfume was the color of the bottle, very repetitive, indeed, when it comes to fresh male marketed fragrances.
Thus, let us go to what matters. When testing the fragrance, the very first spray enchanted me with a cool and alluring blast, just as if pleasurable, cold winds coming from the North Hemisphere could invade my lungs with an irreverent joviality and make me smile, in a suddenly, unexpectedly and unpretentiously way. Although and again, a citrus note of bergamot standed out in the opening, it subsided as fast as a flash and I found myself wrapped in a beautiful cloud of clean patchouli and pink pepper.
In fact, I like fresh scents that embody patchouli as a main note. For me patchouli presents itself as a cold and earthy element that behaves very well in hot and humid climatic conditions. It covers my skin with its roots and performs wonders with the heat of my body. The hotter, the better. Pink pepper fails to render it a spicy fragrance but it succeeds in confidence and sensuality. Apropos, pink pepper is considered an interesting aphrodisiac element.
Fatefully, this cool and fresh presentation of patchouli can only or mostly be found in male marketed perfumes. Female fresh scents generally gather floral or fruity notes that overwhelm the composition, and it partially explains why I feel so attracted by masculine aspects of perfumery. On my lady skin, I suppose it matches and complements it, as the chemical polarity between yin and yang. It balances my natural sweetness.
In the drydown, woody elements are not easily recognized and I would venture to say that there may be teak and cedar notes in the concoction. Again, musk as the base note serves very well to the purposes of a patchouli heart, it makes the fragrance round and addictive, as the awakening of a primitive instinct. In reality, my perception of musk longevity seems to be impaired, not because musk does not match the chemistry of my skin, but because it easily mixes and merges with it. I have always considered much easier to recognize notes that differ from my personal smell, so I am able to describe amber, for example, in a more unbiased and objective manner. Anyway, in this case, I really need to avoid being abusive while spraying, after all, no one wants to go out like a musk beast, even as a mermaid one at the seashore.
In my subjective perception, this fragrance has a moderate projection and about 5 hours longevity on my skin, but as proof of my suspicions, I wore “Blue Wind” yesterday and received a compliment more than 8 hours after application, so I am glad that I just published this review now, after this feedback.
Regarding packaging, Custo Barcelona fragrances usually present refined and elegant bottles, this one with its particularly beautiful chrome cap and also a price fluctuation above the ordinary for designer fragrances.
Bad for me, but since this fragrance makes me feel good and happy, I reputed it as precious and priceless, and this is also the reason why credit cards were created, to make all the rest payable in several installments, with no regrets.
Is the wind blue? Just for the blues. For me, good winds have no color, but they bring me the smell of you, the wind beneath my wings, the wind which makes me smile, which makes me fly, so high, winds from the North Hemisphere straight down to the South!
As I always write my reviews listening to music and inspired by it, the theme for this was Akeboshi’s song named “Wind” in its instrumental version.

IMO, an improved version of VERSACE POUR HOMME, with even better longevity…

Utterly boring aquatic stuff, this concoction. No surprises here, you’ve smelled it a hundered times before. Made to not offend rather than to impress. Next!
