A beautiful floral. Elegant, feminine and sexy without being overwhelming. Perfect for Springtime. The cyclamen and hyacinth notes appear from the very beginning mixed with a sweet woody note, which is probably the patchouli. On my skin it remains the same from the first spray to the moment it fades away, toning down as time passes by. Very pleasant. It’s in my collection for an occasional change from the dark woody fragrances I usually put on. If I wore “Blue” all the time I’d get bored, but it is beautiful for a change. I love it!

Most of all I feel the bergamot, lemon, violet leaf and hyacinth note in this fragrance. It’s light and watery. I don’t like this fragrance because it smells bitter enough.

for me, it’s ‘water- ocean- e.t.c.’ perfume, reminds of sea, sea breeze, sand on the beach, seashells. Easy to wear without annoying heavy scents. Not spicy at all, not warm either. Good for daytime and summertime.

“Summertime chypre” may sound like a contradiction in terms, but that is precisely how I read La Perla BLUE. Against all empirical indicators (the blue color, the name, the general oceanic appearance of the liquid and even the bottle in which it is housed…), BLUE is not an aquatic fragrance.
To me, this comes as something of a relief, as more often than not aquatics do not agree with me. Some are so disagreeable, in fact, as to induce a degree of queasiness akin to seasickness. No such problem with BLUE, which is a light, surface-y, chypre. I don’t want to say that it is a watery chypre, because that would suggest all over again that this is an aquatic perfume, which it is not.
I am not surprised by the negative reception of this perfume (and what must have been its short production life), since people who were expecting something along the lines of LIGHT BLUE would probably feel that they had been misled. On the other hand, chypre amateurs tend to appreciate big, thick, substantial perfumes, which BLUE is also not.
The notes in BLUE smell perfectly natural and well-blended to me, but they are very light and somewhat intangible. I suspect that those who like NILANG and LAGUNA would like BLUE as well. With low sillage and medium longevity, BLUE is a summertime chypre in my perfume book.

Horrible!! Chemical mess – why do I not like ANY of Olivier Polge’s creations?

When i got it (very cheap) I was expecting something along the line of coolwater by Davidoff, you know, the name, the bottle…What a nice surprise it was, that it is nothing like that! Very good fragrance, definitely chypre, classy. Gave it away to my mum though ;-)))
