A nice everyday workhorse fragrance.longevity about 2 hours. Soft sillage,so very suitable for office environments. A nice vanilla with some minor floral notes. The spice is not that noticeable for me.
This is not a dramatic compliment generating perfume; people will say,”You smell nice.” I think this will appeal to those younger women whose olfactory senses have not been utterly burnt out by fruity patchouli….
Not as sweet as Jessica Simpson perfumes, but of that ilk.
A safe blind buy. I got 100ml for $8 at TJ Maxx.

I bought Black Peony when I was very broke. That was also when me and my boyfriend where only together for a few months. I wore it almost daily, even when I finally got a new job and wasn’t so broke anymore. Now the smell always reminds me of that troublesome, but exciting time in my life. It’s a nice scent, but I wouldn’t choose it again nowadays.
It’s very similar to Flowerbomb, but not a perfect dupe. The notes say it has no Patchouli, but I think there must be some, just less than in Flowerbomb. Black Peony is lighter and easier to wear in the heat. Of course not as long lasting, but it’s about 10 € for 75 ml and it does last for some hours. It’s a daytime, year round version of Flowerbomb.
I don’t know why they put peach and sandalwood in the official notes, I can’t find them. Vanilla and patchouli, florals and a bit of bergamot are noticeable to me.

It is a love from a first smell. It is pleasant, gourmand, sweet, but playful and it is not heavy. LOVE this fragrance and can’t stop smell it, very very delicious scent.
P.S. Agree with Irenesa about:” If you spray it in your hair, the smell last for hours and hours, also in clothes.”

I’m a massive fan of Zara Perfumes. I think that the value for money is very good. There’s a huge selection of many different scents according every taste. Personally I used to wear Black Peony as a everyday-scent. It’s very sweet and girly.

Oh Zara, what a horrendous packaging. Still, same as your clothes collection, you are fantastic at copying everybody else genius for a better price. This time is Flowerbomb, and, oh my, you are not shy about it, I am sure raw materials are a tiny bit cheaper but this totally calms my craving for my favourite sugary fruitchuli. Thanks!

WOW what a great alternative to La Vie Est Belle or flowerbomb!
This is a much cheaper everyday fix if you love the above mentioned!
Could work well if you enjoy the expensive brands but find them a little too strong or cloying. This has all the scent but is obviously a bit lighter due to the low price.
I just got a 75ml bottle off Ebay for £10 😀 Very happy

This is nice, reminds me of both La Vie est Belle and Flowerbomb. Doesn’t cost much at all, so it’s worth buying if you like any of those scents!

Lovely. A great dupe for La Vie est Belle, only a bit softer.

When I went to Zara store the other day, and saw a shelf with Zara perfumes, I remembered Black Peony, which I smelled last year. However, I couldn’t find the Black Peony I used to remember. I did find a perfume called like this, but its bottle was really different. So I just thought the bottle was redesigned. I was really excited to smell the lovely Black Peony again, but instead… Oh God. I was blown away by that childish, sweet and overwhelming perfume. Really, really candy-like. But not in a good way. Only the drydown wasn’t bad.
So, I ended up disappointed. Black Peony must have been discontinued, and it’s really a shame.

Second review: This is delicious, flowery gourmand, because I can totally smell the vanilla. I have tried flowerbomb, this is just like it, but there is something here that flowerbomb doesn’t have.. this is somehow fresher that FB, less sweet, and “younger”. Staying power is poor. BUT If you spray it in your hair, the smell last for hours and hours, also in clothes. I love flowebomb the most, and Black peony was the reason for me to buy flowebomb, I though If that smell could last me more,it was totally a reason to buy the perfume. And It was. I have black peony for lazy days, everyday, even I spray this in my bed and pillows and my pajamas.
ZARA, PLEASE NEVER TAKE THIS OFF!!
    Edit:
They had changed the formula and so it’s packaging. Now it is sweeter IN A BAD WAY: it is cloying at first, (I even dare to say it is very little girl like) but the drydown is the same than the original formula or at least it seems. I don’t know.. now I don’t like it as much I don’t even want to repurchase.

does it slightly bother anyone else that a scent called Black Peony has no peony note?

I actually disagree with this being very similar to flowerbomb. On me, flowerbomb didn’t set very nicely on my skin, and the smell was a bit too sharp. This perfume, however, gives off a better smell on my skin. It feels a bit powdery, sweet, but not sickly sweet, and warm. The sillage isn’t very big, but it does last quite a while on me. I’m really happy I got this perfume, and it’s a scoop with that price tag!!

    Rich and feminine, bright perfume.
It has a loud, rich sound, beautiful train, excellent stamina.
The heroine of flavor – fascinating and playful, mysterious and memorable!LP powdery base.
Designed for winter and fall, mainly for night time hours. Like active young women.
Combined with bright, colorful outfits. Has a remarkable resistance, beautiful trail.

I wear this as my work everyday fragrance. I get a lot of compliments saying ‘your wearing flowerbomb’ or men in the office enquiring what Im wearing, seems to be well received. I don’t find it as sickly as Flowerbomb, although I love it on other people it doesn’t quite sit right on me.
I bought a bottle today as I couldn’t find it in store for a while. I agree with other reviews that the packaging has changed but the perfume is still the same, and great value £9.99 for 75ml so glad that it is back.

i agree that the name is misleading. i dont smell any peony. to me this smells like black orchid and vanilla. its a very pleasant scent. feminine, alluring, sweet and slightly spicy which gives the fragrance some depth. its not an amazing perfume since i have others that i care for more but im really impressed that Zara came out with this… i am surprised there arent that many reviews!

As someone who owns flowerbomb, when I tried this tester in the shops my immediate thought was that it smelt exactly like fb. Ill have to try them both out side by side, but if it comes down to spending £50 on flowerbomb or £10 on this I think this would win.

I just love to smell perfumes and I don’t tend to discriminate brands. So I smelled this, and fell in love completly with the sophistication. I always gravitate towards vanilla-caramel-sweet fragrances, so thats why I ADORE THIS. The lasting power is super weak: 3 hours as a max.
Its fine for work, or everyday. Nice to keep in my collection.
Black peony smells just like flowerbomb it’s amazing.

This caused me a sharp headache (migraine kind). I find it very artificial, and synthetic, like some kind of cleaning spray. Also, the name is misleading (where is the peony, anyway?)

Smells very similar to Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb. I’d say it’s a more toned down version of it with less ‘sugar’. Still definitely a great dupe for it though.

It was a very impulsive buy for me as I smelled it when waiting in a queue once and found it lovely. Unfortunately it smells better in the bottle than on my skin. In the bottle I can easily smell a nice combination of peony, vanilla and patchouli but once on my skin it’s just very floral with important amount of citruses that I’m not too fan of and causes me a bit of a headache. Well, since the lasting power is not very strong it normally doesn’t get to that point but even then, after having used just about 1/10 of the bottle, I’m really looking forward to finish it. Might use it for ambient scent instead, as the problem might really be the chemistry between my skin and the smell. Definitely the best part is the bottle. And the price of course 🙂

I never gave any attention to Zara perfumes before, but since I had to wait a long time to pay some clothes, I decided to give it a try… when I sprayed in the strip I thought: Wow, Jimmy Choo, no, wait, Flowerbomb! Naturally I applied in the skin to see the result, and for my surprise, it continued very similar to FB, and the price for a big bottle is very good, so I just had to purchase it! The lastingpower and sillage may not be as powerful as from FB, but still a very nice economic option, and it smells simply lovely combined with dark chocolate body lotion.
