Driftwood, vetiver, minerals. Very nice scent. I enjoy it a lot. Unique and reminds me more of a cold beach than a hot one. Not summery, you could wear this any time of year. Very intriguing. Low sillage, not much projection.

Beach hut woman belongs in an odd genre of beachy marine scents. That leads things wide open to interpretation. Amouage decided to play on a beach in the winter where a mineral marine accord joins in with a driftwood note and a citrus ylang tries to brighten the composition from going into a melancholy decayed vibe. The cashmeran makes things hazy like the sea sprays off the beach at the end of summer at sundown for the final time before the cold winter storms roll in. There is a certain fading warmth about it. Its more a mental contemplative experience in a bottle type of scent. Keep in mind it leans very base notes in its idea.Soft skin type of scent. Sillage is low.
Try before you buy. Those that like CK reveal/Olympea or Avqa Divinia shouldnt have an issue with the scent. I add Ciel to it for some florals and lift.

Received this today, I was just too overwhelmingly curious to wait for a decant, as against the trend I’m loving the newer Amouages and decided to gamble as I just adore all versions of beachy salty scents. I really love it, but in common with a couple of great reviewers below, I’m not finding it aquatic at all. Rather, it’s given me an uncanny urge to break out my vintage No 19 and Dune. It has to be on trend with the modern aldehydes like Superstitious. It’s dry woody and iris-y. It’s the beach cabin behind the dunes with only the vaguest whiff of sea, more like you went in the off season and it’s quite cool and the cabin is a bit mouldy because it’s in the trees. Iris mould. Chypre ish but with oakmoss not patchouli, or at most that earthy raw hippy patch. Incredibly subtle. It’s not a resort beach with suntan oil. There is a lily incense that reminds me slightly of Passage d Enfer. It’s got the dry woods all right, has to have some vetiver. It hasn’t got the sweetish Amber of Dune. I’ll bet the next batch amps up the seaweed notes to make it ‘beachy’. I’m finding it persistant and getting gently sweeter with the possibility of the faintest Aqua de Goia feel in the drydown. Quite unique in my opinion but very very different to the Amouage traditional style. Almost “not a perfume”. A super successful blind buy for me and has really engaged my mind.

Ho-hum. A pleasant, calone-heavy aquatic with a salted juicy note. At least Beach Hut Woman actually smells like it has something to do with the beach and freshness.
Beach Hut Man, on the other hand, is an aromatic minty green fougere. If you are familiar with Polo Modern Reserve, they are very, very similar. It is very well done and an homage to the 80’s power masculines and preppy aspirations. Beachy? Only if you are on a beach during a Ralph Lauren photo shoot. In a ski lodge.

I found the opening freshly arresting. And arrestingly fresh. Like a combo of melon and cucumber.
Soon after, there is rising warmth and to me, it smells like the warm fur of a cat that’s been soaking in the sun. Like I’m buried deep in the cat’s coat and sniffing it. Weird.
Apart from some subtle seashore nuances in the late drydown, I’m not getting very strong beachy vibes here, unlike Beach Hut Man.
Nor is Beach Hut Woman as complex as the men’s.
But I’m liking this one quite a lot. It’s rather avant-garde. There is nothing homely, ordinary or every-day about this fragrance.
It’s for the adventurous gal. Or an icily beautiful Dutch fashion model in a leather jacket.
(Or maybe a mermaid – ha!)
It conveys to me a cool and detached sexiness.
Or is it just me? Other sniffers, please share.
UPDATE: Wow. I just applied 3-4 sprays from my sample to my neck and the experience is completely different. It’s like being immersed in warm sea water and I get images of the rolling waves further out to sea. Weird. Just weird. But so well-done. Not sure how they achieve this effect, but they do. This is a true aquatic.

    Review by Anais Nin:
Taken from the offical Amouage website: An olfactive exploration of solitary moments capturing the serenity of a deserted beach.
    Top Notes: Bergamot, Mineral Accord
    Heart Notes: Driftwood accord, Lisylang
    Base Notes: Patchouli, cashemeran
I was experiencing sensory illusions before trying this sample, I thought of warm air on my cheeks, the smell of decaying seaweed, salty frothy waters. My experience with the fragrance was a different story…
The first dab was not attractive, it was sort of sour in an off-putting way. I smell this for a few minutes then there is a restrained woody accord, I think there is a gentle sweet amber note. Unfortunately I do not get a tropical feel from this fragrance or the “mineral accord” or a dry patchouli note.
A quick search on “Lisylang” took me to Perfumer Supply House. (copied and pasted) Odour: Very pure and clean white flowers bouquets with jasmine, Monöi, Frangipani undertones. Spicy Lily and gourmand Coco milk aspects. Lisylang brings power and body to modern white exotic flowers bouquets with its delicate, floral water topnotes and its rich diffusive drydown.
I did not get this on my skin at all but will test again and update my review again…
Personally I think this is completely unisex. I am not able to find the sillage or longevity since this is a dabber vial.

I would call this a unisex perfume because it reminds me of aquatic fresh men’s cologne.
The opening is straight up pickle juice to me. Not very pleasant. But after the drydown I don’t feel the urge to rub it off.
Interesting scent, not the typical aquatic I expected. I don’t think I’ll get the FB.

Even if I am a woman, I prefer Beach Hut Man rather than this one. I´m a little bit obsessed with marine & salty perfumes – so Beach Hut was a must try for me. And I´m partly disappointed because Beach Hut Woman is a pretty good scent – but it doesn´t feel like a marine scent at all.
I was looking forward a deserted beach, salty breeze, cold water & driftwood. I´m sorry, nope /and I really tried to detect these facets/. The opening is green & fresh like a watermelon /I blame it on calone/, slightly salty & dusty mineral. Then it turns into a sweeter scent with prominent notes of wood, herbs & wet moss. It is difficult to characterize the drydown because the fragrance is linear & it doesn´t change a lot – but I think the drydown is more earthy & fresh/lemony.
As for me, Beach Hut Woman is a unisex /and almost chypre/ fragrance. But if you long for a winter beach experience, I can´t recommend this one.

The first time I sampled this I could not smell much. A week later I revisited the scent.
It is a very soft scent but is relaxing and calming. I remember the amber in the scent blended with other ingredients well. Its the kind of scent which is gentle and subtle. From memory it is a scent that I enjoyed smelling.

    First Impression:
Opens up with what resembles a carroty Iris (but it can’t be right…) and geranium. For a moment I thought this was 1996 by Byredo. Very airy with a slight tinge of bergamot. This evolves several times from here till it resembles a slightly minerally Sunshine Woman.
Blind buy and… I like it. Longevity TBC.
    No Beach Hut man though…

I’ve been looking for a good driftwood scent, so I will likely try this to see if it is what I’m looking for.

Woody Aquatic you say? Interesting. I looked through the list of scents in that category, and I don’t think I’ve tried any of them. Will be trying this one.
