Its package is ghastly and cheap looking – but the inside is so nice, well done and delicious (somewhat). I nearly staggered over it – put out because of the bag, but I got caught and tried it:
The combination of Osmanthus and Bergamot eaves the way, in a very mild manner to a toned down patchouli. The jasmine takes over, patchouli mixes with creamy woods, and like this it stays on me. The bergamot stays always faintly within the drydown, but just so that it doesn’t become too sweet. Nicely done, but the bottle without the bag is more my cup of tea.

This is a story of forbidden love at first sniff…
I was given a sample of Mojo’s Be Glamorous when purchasing a necklace at a boutique in Hamburg on a recent holiday. I had espied the bottles on the shelf behind the counter and thought they looked cheap, tacky and nothing more than a marketing gimmick to reel in desperate teenagers.
Imagine my surprise when, on the last day of our holiday, I decided to at least give the sample a try. It was glorious!
The osmanthus hit me with a wave of sensuality – a refined floral muskiness entwined with wild, rambling roses. The bergamot freshens the elixir and prevents it being an obvious mass-market appeal yawn-fest.
Jasmine makes a subtle entrance, nestled securely in a bed of very slightly soapy sandalwood, with a gentle infusion of patchouli drying to a vintage powdery scent with remarkable staying power.
This is a very cleverly blended perfume that, by all rights, should be in a designer bottle and costing ten times the price. I noticed in Hamburg that there were many German makes of perfumes that I had never seen before – mostly in somewhat garish packaging aimed, it seemed to me, at the teen market. This is a highly charged sex bomb masquerading as a young person’s throwaway spritzer. An absolute outrage!
Know what else is outrageous? I didn’t have time on that last day of the holiday to go and buy myself a bottle. And now I can’t find it anywhere but on websites all in German. I could kick myself. Ah well, another excuse to visit Hamburg again – it’s a truly beautiful city so I wont be much of hardship to force myself to go soon… 😉
