Coffee madness! I love it so much more than all my others coffee frags) Perfect coffee found! Expensive price justifies every milliliter of coffee pleasure. Very nice!
    10/10

Balsamic perfume in a vintage coffee shop.
The coffee beans are quite sharp beside the cappuccino, latte, and the balsamic opoponax. It’s a delicious scene of hot coffee with balsamic opoponax that holds up the bitter dark chocolate pieces. Underneath that you can sense floral perfume of heliotrope, cardamom, and coffee blossoms. I can’t detect any mahogany as much as i can detect cardamom, heliotrope, coffee blossoms, and dark chocolate.
This is quite interesting, but the question is “do i want to smell like a coffee shop”!?

At the trying this fragrance out for the first time, I’m beyond disappointed. I would like this fragrance much more if the longevity and projection was a little bit more solid. Not beast mode, per se… Just solid. And that’s my humble opinion.

Opening: Tia Maria coffee liqueur. And that’s where the goodness ends for me, because a few moments in and Barista wears like a classic men’s cologne with some spicy coffee notes added, way too masculine for me.
If coffee is what you’re looking for, Cafe Aoud by Mancera is in the same vein but better, smoother, and more unisex.

On my skin, Barista is very dark and bitter like espresso or Turkish coffee. Just a touch sweet at first spray, after about 5 minutes, the sweetness is gone. Dark unsweetened chocolate adds to the bitterness. The coffee is very deep, very strong and rich.
I love to add Barista to other perfumes. For example, YSL Black Opium is supposed to have coffee in it, but it’s almost undetectable and fleeting. Layer one spray of Barista over or under Black Opium and suddenly, I have a super long lasting real coffee cappuccino, sweet but not too sweet, and it lasts forever until I wash it off. Adding Barista to very sweet vanilla perfumes creates delicious creamy latte scents. Adding this strong coffee note to sweet chocolate or cinnamon rich perfumes is delicious !
You can become your own barista experimenting with perfumes that can be much improved with a strong coffee note. But be careful ! Barista is extremely strong and long lasting. Sometimes only half a spray is all you need.
    I love Barista !

Not sure why this is marketed just for women, it doesn’t strike me as a particularly feminine fragrance. There is a slight floral note, but the essence of this intriguing blend is based on cappuccino, chocolate, sandalwood, and maple. It’s what Mugler’s A*Men would smell like if they replaced the tar note with sandalwood.
Sillage is moderate, longevity is good. After the opening floral top note dissipates, the scent remains fairly linear and consistent. Definitely unisex, and definitely something unusual that will get a man or woman noticed in a crowd. Probably not something to put on when you are hungry, or you may find yourself heading out to the nearest diner for a cup of coffee and some chocolate chip waffles!

Sorry, I don’t have Barista but I came across a Brazilian scent called LS Vip that is a bomb (lasts over 12 hours with huge sillage) and has a pronounced smell of unsweetened mocha with cardamom giving it a peppery earthy undertone plus dark and almost unsweetened chocolate and vanilla plus cashmeran, musk and cashmeran and would like to ask if anyone has experienced something like that, since the company that makes it usually have some other scent as “inspiration”.It is sold as feminine, though I think since it is dry, has almost no sweetness, and an earthy characteristic it is much more a male oriented perfume.

I bought a sample of Legendary Fragrances’ Barista based on a recommendation from another member of the fragrance community after I’d commented how much I liked Piotr Czarnecki’s Sensei, and, true to the recommendation, Barista is more of a purely coffee scent than Sensei, but certainly isn’t as well-composed a fragrance as Sensei.
Instead, quite effectively, Barista seems to try to embody the smell of actual coffee – the floral/roasted pairing without too much sweetness. It holds back on sweetness that fragrances like Bond No. 9 New Haarlem or INLYFA delivery in excess. While I’m generally a fan of sweet fragrances, Barista is actually a refreshing alternative to many gourmands.
Projection is definitely not anything to exclaim over–I had to apply close to 1ml to get decent projection in the opening, even. Its longevity is better, though, so perhaps the $80 for 100ml price is merited. Certainly the appeal of this needs to be the scent itself, not performance, so fans of coffee should surely try this as I imagine it might be the answer to their prayers. It’s not the answer to mine, but I enjoy it and might consider buying it.

Dont let the “For Women” tag fool you, Barista is a unisex coffee based scent that leaves all others in the genre behind.
It starts out with a sweetened aroma of roasted coffee beans and frothy cappuccino. Its a blast, as if you walked into a coffee shop that sells pastries with their coffee selections.
The coffee is being brewed, its dark brown, toasty and freshly ground. There are different coffee forms floating around here, brewed and ground.
There is a light white floral here as well from the start, but very fleeting, it lasts maybe 20 minutes.
Once the scent settles in its all about the roasted dark coffee, still with some sweetness, but its not too sweet, just a hint of sugar in the cup of java.
A few hours in there is a slight woodiness with the coffee that may appeal to more men than women, you could say this is the table you’re sitting at.
The closest I can compare this scent to in every day life is a finished cup of sweetened coffee in a diner.
Its more complex than that, but it should give you a good idea of how realistic this is.
Worth seeking out if you’re looking for a coffee-centric creation. Most of the scents out there claim to have coffee, but usually end up disappointing you.
The only other one I’ve smelled where coffee is detectable from start to finish is Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s Vanille Mohka, but that is significantly sweeter than Barista.
My girlfriend said: “I think your cologne is making me hungry.”
I would say this is pretty versatile, you could wear it to the office in the cooler months, Fall, Winter, Spring. Put this away for temps above 50.
It performs like an EDT the first 2 hours, with a lot of projection from few sprays, and like an EDP over the next 8. It radiates with body heat so spray under the collar out of the cold air.
2 sprays is enough, this one is quite rich, and could be cloying even in winter time with more sprays than that.
Its very persistent with its longevity, so keeping this away from your face may give the best results over the 8+ hours it lasts.
Great value for a niche creation @ $70-$80 USD.
I searched for months, across many brands to find a true to life coffee, Barista was the final attempt. I certainly saved the best for last.
Thierry Bellet did a masterful job with this, and it deserves high praise and more attention in the gourmand sector of the community.

In my years of collecting fragrances this is now number 1 in terms of a fragrance that actually makes me think… Well coffee.
To many times supposed coffee fragrances dont really remind me or make me think of coffee. And if anything not only do they not remind me of coffee I have to look for the coffee note period.
Not this one though. There is a LOT of coffee in this one. Closest fragrance I can compare it to would be well by kilians intoxicated which also reminds me of coffee. But where as intoxicated has that very strong dark thick almost spicey sorta hot chocolate/mocha/coffee feeling. This one the chocolate vibe is toned down and in the background and the coffee aroma is center stage through out.
At first blast this stuff is most certainly thick and has a pretty big kick to it at the begining. But saying that the spice is never misplaced because of how authentic this smells so its not offensive in this aspect. As the opening fades away it sits pretty close to the skin for me for the most part. Longevity is decent however.
For the smell on the dry down again the spice fades, and im left with a sorta sweet woody coffee smell.
I do see it compared to new harleem here, but the foody aspect in this is very light. And where as new harleem to me is basically breakfast in a bottle( french toast, maple syurp the whole thing, but with very very little coffee). This is a whole lotta coffee, with maybe a pancake or 2 on the side and nothing else.
So again in terms of a fragrance reminding me of coffee and that whole sorta vibe. This is now number one, over taking by intoxicated. However I dont feel this is still god tier, or the holy grail. Althuogh it certainly has a coffee shop vibe, there is one problem for me. Its missing the donut smell, the other aspect. I so wish dunkin donuts would come out with a fragrance that smelled like walking into one. That great combo of donuts and coffee everywhere. Because of that I do feel this is a tad noveltyish because the coffee is so well done but not quite enough else going on. So im hesitant to say in terms of how “good” it smells if its the best “coffee” scent period. If that makes sense. Whatever the case definitely worth checking out if you like coffee fragrances.
