A heavenly Oriental chypre centered around a most beautiful Turkish Rose. The perfume opens with this lovely rose surrounded by hints of lemon, bergamot and orange. As it begins to settle gourmand notes of chocolate, strawberry and a lovely labdanum emerge. Finally it settles into a beautiful mossy powdery base of heliotrope, patchouli, oakmoss, vanilla, oud, incense and labdanum, with the rose beautifully lingering in the background. This is modern Oriental perfumery of high order, with quality ingredients and beautiful blending. Unisex (slight feminine leaning) with a pronounced but understated sillage and projection and very good longevity. This one is truly the stuff of Arabian nights dreams. Enjoy!

Of All Xerjoff brands, the one that has been more consistent and well done is the one I saw the most criticism about. Kemi’s perfumes have proved to be a pleasurable experience, a tribute to the perfumery classics but one capricious in the execution, a known symphony where each instrument is well chosen and played in symphony. It’s what I expect from a luxury perfume: consistency, aesthetics and impeccability.
Aurum maintains the thematic of the brand to homage the alchemy times. honoring one of the most precious and valuable metals for the alchemists, gold. It makes sense that when making the transposition for a perfume it has been chosen one of the most precious and valuable materials of a perfumer, which is the rose. Aurum tries to synesthesize the rose with the gold, creating an aroma of roses that uses nuances of honey to pass this golden texture.
Although the pyramid list and evidence gourmands notes in the composition, Aurum is a symphony of roses and labdanum, a classic performed with harmony. The opening makes me think of an aroma that reminds me more to honey combs, a smell that is sweet without being sugared and transposes the animalic texture to the honeycomb and the labdanum world, complementing them discreetly with the oud. It is a more moderate level of animalic content and one easily acceptable for those who are afraid of more extreme creations. The rose reings beautiful, delicate, and persistent, which is a surprise and also a challenge considering that its greener, fruity and powdery aroma ends up standing up and attuning to the labdanum base. It is a known magic, but very good anyway.

Strawberry right off the bat no doubt about it but it doesn’t last an enormous amount of time to be fair. I don’t really get a lot of chocolate but as it dries down I get the rose vanilla and a slight Oud which smells very, very similar to the drydwon of MFK’s Oud Satin Mood to my nose.
It’s nice but not THAT nice to justify the high price tag. Longevity and projection were moderate, nothing to write home about unlike some other Xerjoff offerings.
My advice, sample this and Oud Satin Mood and see which you prefer. My vote goes to the MFK.

Remember those strawberry hard candies that had some sort of flavored fluid in the middle and came in a metallic strawberry wrapper? This fragrance smells like a heavy glob of those candies melted over Noir de Noir, if Noir de Noir were made by Paco Rabanne.

Scent – strawberry, rose, vanilla chocolate & oud.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night.
Projection – I did get noticed, it garners compliments.
Longevity – I get 6hrs consistently.

At first I was disappointed, too sweet, too fruity, and just not me. Then a day later I reached for it again and noticed what a soothing effect Aurum had on me. The opening was more digestible this time, and it didn’t last as long. The chocolate covered strawberries dipped in a heavy vanilla whipping cream lasted less than 10 min. and opened the door to what I consider some of my most favorite notes, heliotrope, patchouli, oakmoss, incense and labdanum. Ah, what a comforting dry down. One of the base notes is agar wood but it must be a small amount or very well blended since I can’t detect its presence. I became heavily addicted to this fragrance and wore it 4 days in a row. Longevity is amazing, 12 hrs or more, and sillage–my gosh, one of the best from my entire collection. I received compliments by pretty much everyone I came in contact with.
Oh, and the bottle is to die for!

An absolutely phenomenal boozy fruit tinged oud. Kemi blending really is magic as they somehow bring all the notes together perfectly. As the previous reviewer noted, this came off as very sweet at first but a few wearings and this is an absolute gem. The longevity is easily 18+ hours.

Initially I thought it was great, but the more I try the more I find it too sweet and syrupy compared to other sweet rose-ouds
