Starts with a pronounced sharp citrus, plum and rose, over a pitch dark woody accord, that I have smelled before in middle eastern compositions. It’s a sophisticated smell and a powerful accord, that will announce you. That citrus sharpness fades but never quite goes away. This perfume is also formal, it’s a smell I associate with well dressed women who are socialite but serious, a little exotic and unapproachable, at an event. As the sharpness of the top accord fades its replaced by powdery musk, rose, maybe some iris. Maybe some violet and/or violet leaf. It’s in the family of perfumes like Nabeel’s Nasaem, with better ingredients, and really reminds me of Tom Ford’s Black Violet once it gets to the heart stage, although that one becomes very musky very quickly, this is actually better blended. It definitely could be worn by a man. For me this particular structure is an acquired taste however there is something undeniably appealing about it. Refreshing and sharp, it keeps you alert. At the same time its quite sensual. Worth trying as Al Haramain sell samples from their website.

I believe that it is musk and amber mix that I smell. Atifa Noir is dark and a bit powdery scent. It is very difficult to tell what it actually smells like but somewhere behind the musk there are flowers there for sure. Vanilla does not smell per se but probably is there to transfer the scent more sensual. A wonderful perfume. Not for young women I think. I could imagine Frida Kahlo -type women wearing this scent. I am plain ordinary but I am going to wear it too :).
