Georgannyrt – :
Another attempt at classic perfumery by Daniel Vaudd, Amplexus offers an example of the well-known genre of old lady chypre, complete with a hefty dose of oakmoss. On the ingredients list both evernia furfuracea and evernia prunastri are named, so he did manage to squeeze some real oakmoss in along with the tree moss, although it is further down the list and so is in lower concentration.
This is another case of perfume redundancy, since many examples of this sort of fragrance are available and at quite reasonable prices (Jacomo Silences is one obvious example–although it is quite a bit more green). No harm done, of course. The world is not going to explode from the production of too many perfumes, but maybe it’s not the best business strategy after all, given that this venture appears to have come to an end?
