What an interesting aroma! Somewhat sweet, somewhat spicy, and very appetizing overall.
It is so agreeable and homy, even reminiscent of something very intimate! It is like a family Christmas dinner in a chalet, everybody at the table tasting a Bûche de Noël.
It is more suitable for women, lasts for about 5 hours, the projection is not very strong. It would be a perfect present.

**Worth noting that the official sample spray vials don’t say “Intense” on them, but they are indeed the same perfume: Ambre Cashmere Intense.**
Wrapped in the warm and cuddly embrace of Ambre Cashmere Intense by Parfums de Nicolai. This is a perfect perfume. I was about to overlook it because the top notes don’t catch me, but the heart and the base notes are just the most warm, comforting scents ever.
I decided to break my “2018 no-buy” on this one, as I kept reaching for and emptying more than a few sample vials. It feels like my go-to for warm, sexy, cuddly, comforting and comfortable.
Its drydown really is perfect. Like being wrapped in the cologne scented sweater of your lover. Cashmere.
Lasts for ages, which is really nice. Sprayed at 7:30, still going strong at 2:30. If you spray at bed time, you’ll wake up in a gloriously soft cloud of comfort.

This Nicolai smell like old ambermusk of the beguin of the last century plus vanilline plus some citrus and a noticeable hay note, yes, a sort of immortelle odour.
The first half an hour is a bit unstable, and “scaring”, after become a fruity creamy aromatic gentle round hugging tonka-vanilla-musk.
Familiar, good, gourmand, comfortable, warm-soapy & fresh sweet. Almondy.
In a word: Lulling. Wool Blossoms.
I have tested a vial of the “non” intense version i presume.

This fragrance is complex! it whiffs between elements like a spark! it whiffs between oranges, vanilla as the soft note, amber, tonka bean, sandalwood, black pepper, citron, labdanum, & violets!
the sweet element in here is presented tenderly and quite sensual with some slight sourness for some light action.
I enjoyed the blend quite well! very interesting.

It does remind me of L’Ambre des Merveilles, because, well, amber, vanilla, labdanum, patchouli. This one reads sharper to me though, there is a smokiness in the base that I recognize from Vanille Tonka by the same house, though that one is even less edible than this (insert audible scoffing – hey, I got into perfume this year, I was practically raised in the modern era of gourmands and fruitchoulis). There is however a note in the drydown that upsets me slightly, and I can’t for the life of me figure out what it is (a bit stale). For this reason I can’t bring myself to call it a love.

So I went to Nicolai today to smell the new Ambre Cashmere. I tried it on 4 hours ago and it still smells beautifully unaltered on my wrist. I am a big fan of Patchouli intense, although after 3-4 hours all the patchouli has vanished and only the powdery scent is left.
I do not like Vanilla in general but I do love pepper. I am falling in love with this warm and spicy. I don’t smell the amber nor the vanilla, but the perfume leaves a similar lush and warm scent behind.
I was going to replace my Patchouli intense but I think I will buy this one instead.

Beautiful amber with a real development that is high quality, warm and intriguing. Ambre Cashmere Intense opens on my skin with a nice lemony mandarine citron accord with a fresh sweetness. The spices emerge next for me, then a lot of labdanum which can be overpowering if you spray too much. The patchouli and wood can get a bit strong here for my taste as well, but the scent moves on to a sweet tonka spicy drydown that is reminiscent of Hermes’s Ambre Narguile. Altogether lovely scent for a man or woman.
Good sillage and longevity on this one. On my second and third trials of this fragrance I used only 2 sprays, one on each arm, and that was perfect, with sillage for about 5 hours and longevity of 10 hours. To echo Roge’s comments, this is definitely blind buy worthy. It was a blind buy for me and one of the best ever!

Striking similarities to Velvet Amber from Boss’s private collection; plush enough to be deemed cashmere-like. Ambre Cashmere begins down that ostentatious path Nicolai is known for. Clocking in at 1000 fumes per second, your peers won’t be able to escape the floral-amber-vanilla-labdanum-combo which fumigates the atmosphere like a fog machine. During this moment, you can’t help but actualize the purchase of this bottle; certainly intriguing. Concoction wise, i can’t say this is summarily similar to Tonka Imperial, but there were moments in the middle phase where i compared the two(obviously because of the tonka note). For me, not as gourmand as i expected it to be but not a demerit either. As a whole, the tranquility can’t be ignored. I found the drydown to be similar to Ambre Fetiche. At this point in the fragrance, everything seem to crust over leaving a scent trail of aged amber and old vanilla extract….just think bottom of the barrel kind of vanilla. In total, Ambre Cashmere takes up about 6hrs of your life. The 1st 3hrs is when you’re gonna be noticed the most. Good Stuff.
