I think Albi is a really nice summer scent. It’s simple and has been done before, but this one is a really nice take on a summer floral scent.
The opening is a lavender mix with an herb. The scheme says petitgrain so we’ll go with that. But the pepper and musk can be smelled within a few minutes – and you can tell they are ‘ready to go’ when their time comes.
Once the top notes die down the main part of the scent consists of rose and pepper. Simple, but still very nice. Musk remains the base note here and is an expected end to this fragrance.

My wife is the agent for Lauro Tonatto in the Benelux countries and how odd this may seem I never really bothered to smell these Frangrances until recently. Albi is a fantastic scent with a nice rich bouguet. It lasts very long and it gets noticed. Indeed it has a sort of summer swing to it and you can smell the fresh pepper. I think this really is a good buy ( although I did not buy it) .

Having recently reviewed Guerlain JICKY (reformulated) and compared it to spice cake served in a barber shop, I find myself thinking of barber shops again while wearing Laura Tonatto ALBI perfume oil. My experience may differ from that of those who have tested the eau de toilette, but I am able to detect the key notes in this composition, despite the almond carrier oil, which in some of the other perfume oils from this house shrouds the identity-making notes.
The reason why the notes are salient in the case of ALBI is no doubt because the notes are characteristically strong: lavender! pepper! other unnamed spices! and petit grain!
All of this excitement conspires to conjure in my mind the image of the barbershop shaving scene in The Godfather. Really. I have a very visual memory, and I do not recall ever having been inside a barbershop, so my most direct experience is from an unforgettable scene from an unforgettable and wonderful film: The Godfather.
I do not mean to suggest that ALBI is heinous or murderous or otherwise unpleasant. It offers precisely the sort of familiar vibe needed to be able to lure someone into that fated chair. After that, it’s all up to the barber–or reasonable facsimile.

Finally tried my sample of this lovely frag from Laura Tonnato. Starts out quite green with stronger lavender, then pepper comes in and plays with your head and your nose a bit. Finally in the drydown you start to smell the rose and musk in the mix. I like this one and find it pretty masculine, but I wear other masculine fragrances so I may buy a bottle of this. I’d love it if my husband would wear it- this would smell amazing on a man I think.

when I got this one first I was a bit unsure whether to like , love or dislike it. In my mind I put it on my invisible “neither here nor there” shelf. Well I was wrong, I was wearing it yesterday all day and got many compliments. Silage was excellent , Longevity satisfactory, probably best worn sparingly.
The lavender dries down nicely and I thought for a moment that I was wearing Eau de Reglisse from Caron . Of course my nose isn’t as good as some of yours out there but I am trying,
Good value for money I thought.
Anyway I moved it onto my like it shelf

Herby pepper scent that reminds me of my favorite botanical shop and summer street fairs. Dries down a bit too alcohol-sharp on me, a common thing with me and wood scents, but it’s a very nice crisp summer unisex fragrance that will please anyone looking for simple, herbal scents.
