Career or vocation? Arturetto Landi is really a chemist, drawn into the world of the art of perfume by chance. Traveling to England after graduation, all he wanted to do was to learn English as the prelude to a career at sea. That changed when he landed a casual job with a scent company. His interest in scent had been aroused and his next career assignment, in Australia, turned out to be in the perfume sector.
Landi took his decision. He had done with chemistry and wanted to become a perfumer. His training took him to H&R in Holzminden; his career to New York, Paris, Tokyo, Hamburg and Vienna, among other centers. Today Arturetto Landi resides in Germany, homeland of his choice.
Landi’s perfumes are opulent, complex and composed as grand opera for the nose. For his love of the sensual, he must have his father, a chef, to thank, also his childhood on the Italian Riviera. Rather than draw inspiration solely from the past, however, fragrance designer Landi is also very happy to do so from far-off places, being especially fond of the scents of Arabia.
For Thorsten Biehl, Arturetto Landi has created two perfumes in the biehl. parfumkunstwerke gallery: elegant, refined al01 and seductive, self-assured al02. al01 was launched in 2007.

One of the best perfumes made since Chanel 19. Old fashioned? If so, we should look back.

I’ve just received my sample from luckyscent and I have to agree with the other reviewer. It is a bit “old-fashioned” and reminds me of some Chanels. When I was a kid I had a sampler pack with about 15 vintage Chanel (most likely the scents were a bit off). This kind of smells like all of them put together. Still nice, I like…don’t love.
Edit: I’m wearing this again to test and I just don’t like it. And the sillage is huge. I find it embarrassing.

An old-fashioned scent, emerging with rich golden florals, powdery, fruity, pleasant, reminding me a bit of the old Finesse shampoo. It sets dark and jammy, similar to Serge Lutens Bois et Fruits.
Excellent silage and longevity of 3/5.
