Agua Fresca de Rosas, from the Natural Collection of the Spanish designer Adolfo Dominguez, was launched in 1995 as a refreshing version of rose fragrances with green notes. The nose behind this fragrance is Joan Bruses.

A very pretty aquatic floral. Smells like little pink roses and white lilies. It’s aquatic so for me like others have mentioned it’s only good as scented bath water. This is a lot like Rosewater so if you have that fragrance and use it in your bath this is kind of the same thing. Sweet roses. Feminine. Gorgeous. I wear it to bed.

Sweet floral aroma. I scent my bath with this. It’s not too far from smelling like ROSE WATER by EVELYN AND CRABTREE. A subtle but heady sweet rose and lily of the valley pairing to die for. I’d never smelled a more perfect harmony of rose and lily of the valley. There is an aquatic and watery vibe to this scent and in fact it just turns too a bath water on me, a bit soapy so I find it better to wear while taking a bubble bath and not to wear as a regular perfume. Beautiful rose water. If you like roses and florals check this out.

I have tested the fragrance several times, somebody close to me owns it…. in the beginning it is kind of harsh, generic and even cheap smelling…. to be honest I do not like it in that stage, after 10 minutes it settles down and starts smelling much better becoming a nice Bulgarian rose fragrance, not a bad blind buy, it is kind of strong and BIT, just a BIT dated…so I believe females over 25-30 who enjoy roses in fragrances may appreciate it.

My first exposure to this fragrance was at a Quincenera or 15th birthday party for a Mexican friend of mine’s daughter named Marisol who lives in Brooklyn. She thinks I’m the coolest thing since leather and has been a sort of protégé of mine in the fashion industry. She learns quickly and is already a perfumista although her taste in fragrances differ greatly from mine. She arrived at the party in a limousine and wore a tiara and beautiful princess gown of pink lace. She smelled of this fragrance. I asked her what she was wearing and she told me in her cute Spanish accent Agua Fresca de Rosa. I asked her what that means and she says it translates to Fresh Rose Water. This is exactly what this scent smells like: rose water. It’s a fresh after-your-morning-shower scent of rose and white flowers, with aquatic touches. It smells watery like it really ought to be poured onto your skin like actual water or oil. The scent is linear and does not have the perfume pyramid of top middle and base notes. I usually stay away from such formulas because I need those base notes to give the fragrance some real power but this is very nice. It’s sweet but not to sweet, subtle but detectable has excellent sillage and lasts for several hours, definitely more than 4 hours which is as long as I spent at the party. I ordered this fragrance online because I was so enchanted by it. It’s a lovely rose perfume. Other notes include jasmine and lily of the valley so it’s a white floral scent too and even has a slight green touch. It smells of fresh waters like at a flower shop when you go out and pick what flowers you want in your bouquet. The lily of the valley note is also very noticeable and I love muguet scents. The dry down is soft and barely there musk and wood. It’s strictly a floral even at the very end all I smell is roses. Because it is rather on the innocent side, it probably smells better on fresh young skin but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s for young women only. It’s a floral fragrance so if you love flowers and floral scents in your perfume you will really love this. You’re likely to enjoy this fragrance if you like simple and pretty floral scents like Evelyn and Crabtree Rose Water Yardley English Rose Taylor of London Elegant Rose and any of the Rose fragrances from L’Occitaine en Provence like Roses et Reines and Rose 4 Reines. Very very beautiful. I always think of my Marisol when I smell this fragrance. And she still wears this so it turned out it was more of her signature scent and not just a fragrance she wore at the party. Lovely. Just lovely.

Curiously enough, I do not detect many roses here, and I think the notes are not correctly listed in Fragrantica. Those are: watery notes, bergamot, grapefruit, mandarine, rose, white flowers (lily, jasmine, magnolia…), sweet spices (staranise, pepper, nutmeg), sandalwood, musk and amber. For me, this smells mainly like water notes, white flowers, sweet spices with a hint of rose and ambery notes. It has been a great favourite of Spanish women since its release, although I really never liked it. Too plain and boring to my taste, with too many white flowers, too popular and common, and with a bleach-like note in the drydown that I find appaling. However, I decided to give it a chance, so I bought once a bottle…only to find myself giving it away as soon as I could. I think it’s mainly a problem of my skin’s chemistry, because I must admit that in other people this scent smells fantastic. Pity, the bottles and boxes, and the concept behnid the fragance were chic and beautiful. Adolfo Dominguez released also an Eau de Parfum version which was discontinued very soon, and has a similar bottle, but shorter and wider. I find the Noche de Rosas incarnation more interesting, although, sadly enough, it was discontinued very soon too.
It has been reformulated by sure, since Myrurgia, the company which originaly produced it, has dissapeared, sold and bought by other companies. The last time I came into a shop and had the idea of testing it, found that this is now only a shadow of what once was, with that hideous bleach note that I have mentioned before more prominent that ever.

I love this perfume i buy every year in palma airport plus the fresca blanca, this one is my day perfume for spring and summer i think the first hit is more citrus like d&g light blue then softens to be more fizzy and floral, i’ve worn it for years and people still ask what it is and where to buy (even the spanish airport lady on till) same with fresca blanca which i wear day and night more along the lines of flowerbomb more rose and more evening wear, love them both

this is the lightest, cleanest and most ethereal rose scent. it is almost an old-school pharmaceautical rose water, only long lasting (on garments more so than on the skin) and more chic. it is both a perfect morning fragrance and a lifting refreshing perfume for later on, a pick-me-up for when needed.

Rose. Rose. Rose and nothing else. Fresh, garden rose. I can´t add anything else cause there is nothing to add. If you like rosy smell you will probably like it. I´m not a fan of that type of rose so I see this fragrance boring

I love this one, I find it uplifting and it lasts all day. I’m embarrassed to say that I layer it with the bodyshop strawberry EDT. I find it adds that little bit of sweetness that the perfume lacks for my taste. The moment those two smells combine I’m in heaven.

To sum up all the spot on reviews below that I totally agree with, here is my view upon this perfume:
Bulgarian rose indeed! Fresh, clean, uplifting, mossy green, classy, romantic, a bit retro, a perfect “I dont know what to wear” perfume. Agua Fresca de Rosas is deliberately made for spring, refreshing for summer and an enveloping thin blanket to wear on fall. Unpretentiously beautiful, and that came from me, ladies …. an anti-rose fan!

A lovely rose perfume, subtle yet lasting, a drawer of compliments. It is one I look for as soon as I get to Spain, along with the Agua Fresca de Rosas Blancas which has just a bit more ‘attitude’.

    Such a subtle smell.
It’s actually a curious story for me because it’s one of my mom’s all time favourite fragrances and I got it for her birthday a few months ago, but I never really took a chance to smell it and analize it until today and it reminded me so so much of these Abercrombie fragrance “Spirit” that I got like 5 years ago which is currently discontinnued. I’m actually glad that I got a “dupe” for that perfume because I loved it so much.
    Really elegant and clean.
    Spanish fragrances are flawless.

The freshest rose perfume around. Roses-and-water-and-breeze on a cool, sunny spring day. Not a “grand” perfume, not unforgetable, but definately one to spray when you need to lighten your mood and spirit.

it’s like to wear a fragrance and not wearing anything at the same time. Elegant, fresh and discrete. Ultrafeminine.

It´s a really good fragance, strong for en eau the toilette. It´s smells like bulgarian rose, not like an ordinary rose. Its elegant & classy but also fun to wear.Good for all ages. very fresh & lovely.

It is the favorite perfume of my boy, if I take it closer to smell me. I do not understand why but he thinks it’s a sexy smell. It is a perfume that I have affection, is intimate and personal. It is romantic, classic and nice.

It’s very risky to gift perfumes unless you know the notes or the kind of scent the person likes. In my case this was a gift I never liked. It’s not a bad scent, it’s only its not my kind of perfume. Fresh but too flowery in my opinion, and boring.
Maybe I was too young to apreciate this kind of perfume, I liked something more special or spicy, cheerfull, and I found this one very plane and common. Anyway my mom enjoyed it.

it’s such a refreshing rosy scent! lovely lovely
if you are a rose lover, it’s a must try!
for those hot days that you really something close to skin and not very powerful, and still feel very feminine and pretty.
goes perfectly with a sweet little dress (:
