So my disclaimer is that I don’t love Oud Wood, I like it but I prefer more punchy agarwood scents like Oud Royal. So not being in love with Oud Wood but open to try a clone I tried Agar, and it’s not bad. It is a decent Oud Wood clone but it lacks some of the texture of the original. It does leave a trail which I got compliments on from people I knew, but it doesn’t last very long and the projection dies very quickly. Yes, it is cheaper, although the price difference between the clone and an authentic 50ml on ebay are not that massive, but unless you want a skin scent that is close to Oud Wood I would say save up for the original. Their Irish Leather Memo clone, however, is stunning.

It’s a decent copy of TF Oud Wood. Maybe 70-75% close, but if you do a side by side comparison, they are way more noticeably different. Longevity is very poor. I paid $35 for a 1oz bottle and I don’t think it’s worth that. If you add that up to make a standard 3.4 oz bottle, that would be $119. Still cheaper than TF Oud wood, but Agar is NOWHERE near worth that price.

I purchased several samples from the house of Alexandria Fragrances. So far, this is by far the best from start to finish. It is a nice Oud fragrance with hints of sandalwood, cardamom, birch tar and patchouli mixed with some sweetness. Absolutely amazing juice. Longevity is nice with projection lasting about 3 hours. For the price and quality a with a nice sample pack (7 samples of 5 ml’s each, total $50 US for all 7) this is a house worth checking out, in my opinion. Enjoy!

It is a cheap but good alternative to Oud Wood. The opening is different, a bit more green. But after about 5 minutes, it is pretty much the same. Amazing smell. With 4 sprays, I can get wafts for about the next 2 hours.
Projection – Poor to Moderate
Longevity – Moderate to Long
While it won’t blow your mind in terms of performance, it does offer better performance than the original.
Worth the price and I would buy again just for the amazing scent.

I have been using the original Tom Ford Oud Wood since 2014, and I can say that Agar it is a good copy. Not identical, but still a good copy. The real one is deeper, more complex and less pungent than Agar. The original is of course an overpriced scent, but in my opinion is more enchanting and mysterious.
However, those differences are perceptible only when you smell directly the skin, because the smell that Agar leaves in the air is really 99% Oud Wood.
For the price, Agar is 1000 times better that a lot of “Common brands” perfumes on the market.

Purchased this about 2 months ago and I really enjoy it. This is a soft Oud, considering that I’m into all things Montale and the harsh Oud. IMO it’s a great year round fragrance. Pretty safe blind buy. Also, I haven’t tried the inspo for this by TF, so i can’t compare the two at this time.

Finally some Alexandria Fragrances are appearing! It’s an incredible house. Unfortunately, this is the only entry so far and it’s one of the 12 that I have that I don’t love.
I don’t dislike it, in fact, it smells great. A nice, placid, safe scent perfect for work. It reminds me of Reflection Man in that sense. The oud is very soft and subtle with a ‘mossy’ type vibe underneath. My issue with it is that it is a skin scent right off the bat. One spray or 15 sprays, this doesn’t get away from my skin at all.
But if you want a classy, manly scent that’s perfect for work, this a great one.
