There are perfumes that cost hundreds of euros and that do not make you think of anything, they do not communicate anything to you. Then there are those scents of a few tens of euro that make you do absurd trips. Aegyptus is one of these. I feel the lotus, the oriental notes and I am already catapulted to the court of a majestic and charming Egyptian queen. The bottle immediately suggests the yellow, which is no accident: Sand, desert, heat, gold. Aegyptus is the best Egyptologist there is, the best guide for those who love traveling in time, an open book with mystical rituals. Yes: It’s a dead-resurrecter!
    GREAT!

It’s probably time to review this scent after 2 years…
This was my second fragrance from TDo.I got it during when summer was transitioning into fall and the climate was throwing on both hot and breezy and humid at certain moments.
I decided to give this one a review now because of another compliment I got when I reapplied this and a coworker entered the room and exclaimed “wow that smells so good!Do you have a new air freshener?”.I laughed my ass off and told him it was my perfume. After almost a year of not wearing this cheapie,it felt nice to get a compliment on a simple and wearable perfume.
Scent:It starts of with a floral, creamy and spicy blast then for a few moments to where it dries down a bit,the spiciness turns a bit prominent(and a little pungent to be honest) and then dries down to a little sweetness and creaminess.I only can detect the powderiness if I stuck my nose close to my wrist. And the whiffs you get in the air when you walk by is just lovely and comforting and inoffensive.
My only problem with this is that,at times it turns a bit salty on my skin at certain temperatures and I would recommend this to be worn during the winter or best,a cold summer evening.
Longevity is long lasting for me about 8-10 hours tops and more on clothes and sillage is about moderate.

Unusual, subliminal scent with a salty note – almost undetectable at first, but it leaves an aura around you – sunny, sandy, salty, sweaty – rather weird to my nose but there is something to it that makes it special and worth testing.

Spicy, masculine, fresh and a bit cheap smelling. I will pass it on to my boyfriend since this smells very masculine to my nose.

This is beautiful. I know the new blue gold version. Once I had an georgeus oil Cleopatra from egiptian Giza and it was my sexiest signature ever. It was very cosy, creamy, warm and light, fresh sensual. So well blended that could not discern nothing, but for sure sandal, papyrus, lotus. And I missed it so much than tried Agyptus to check is it similar. And Yes it is Cleopatra almost, but plus very detectable Iris and talc (wich I dont like much) but that gives it elegance, by hint of bitterness. Its very different from other Tesori. Cold Night randevouz. Worth of try. My Cleopatra was natural, Just after bathing in milk at the sunset. This queen is on duty in full makeup and wig on.

It’s not that the new blue bottle is a reformulation, it is actually, that the fragrance is completely a new one. On the golden bottle it says “Kyfi” or maybe “Kyli Essence”, while on the blue bottle it says “Giglio blu del Nilo”, which means “Nile’s blue lily”.
Now, about my opinion. I have absolutely loved the old version of the fragrance, it was so sweet and heavy and spicy. It smelled amazing, rich and was very long lasting.
My mom bought me this new blue bottle, because she knows I love the line and, not living in Italy anymore, she keeps blind-buying me bottles, which are always so unexpensive.
This scent is a powdery feast with some slight deodorant (think about Dove’s cream anti perspirant) quality. It smells like oriental, spicy, woody baby powder. I do think this perfume is quite retro smelling and I like the composition very much. The sillage is moderate, but I personally wouldn’t use more that three sprays. It is long lasting indeed (about 10-12hrs on me).
I would use it during fall and winter or during the evening.

I bought this because of the comparisons to Robert Piguet Visa but it let me down. It’s much sweeter with a fizzy quality. It smells a bit cheap to me. I thought it was too good to be true that there could be a dupe for Visa.

I have this one in blue bottle with golden embellishments. Is it a re-launch? It says Aegyptus Giglio blu del Nilo. Anyways, for me it is flowery, just a little bit powdery and a tiny bit spicy. Not true to its name, if I may. Not bad, pleasant and light, not irritating even in a hottest weather. Not lasting, but at that price and that volume it is not a big deal. Overall, will buy it again-as an “after shower before fragrance situation is very good”. Suitable for layering as well.

I had a 3 ml sample of this fragrance this summer. My first approach was more than unpleasant. I sprayed it generously on the inside of my both elbows and felt mosquito repellent spray ;( My next try was more precautious. With a smaller dose of a scent I could realise that the mosquito-spray phase fades away in 10 or 15 minutes. Then the scent got really nice, more resin, myrrh, than spicy on me. It was lovely to me during 30 Celsius degree temperatures 😉 I don’t know if it is better or worse during cold weather, as I used all the sample before September.

I bought a bottle of Aegyptus to my partner, because it is said to resemble L’occitane’s discontinued Eau d’Iparie, which is a perfume my partner used to wear when we fell in love and it’s very dear to both of us. Tesori d’Oriente’s fragrances are inexpensive so I considered Aegyptus a safe blind buy.
It was warm weather when my partner wore this for the first time and I got a massive headache from being in the same room. Later that day when we were lying in our bed I thought my partner was wearing Eau d’Iparie. These two fragrances don’t smell identical and you shouldn’t expect Aegyptus to smell the same as Eau d’Iparie, but there’s definitely something they have in common.
Because my first impression of this scent wasn’t the most pleasant one, I wasn’t very eager to try it on myself, but today I felt like wearing something I don’t usually wear. I live in northern Europe and it’s a cold winter day now, so the sillage isn’t that heavy now which is good.
The opening of Aegyptus is shower gel like synthetic creamy and warm. It was the opening that made me feel so nauseous the first time I smelled this, but now it smelled more bearable. The synthetic shower gel vibe reduces over time and the scent turns into more pleasant spicy creaminess. I imagined this to be heavier oriental, but this is actually quite fresh spicy floral scent. Warm, cosy and definitely unisex.
The sillage and longevity are very good and in my opinion the scent gets better over time.
If you like classical powdery, spicy and floral orientals and you are looking for an inexpensive fragrance, you should try this one. Of course you shouldn’t expect this to smell like high quality niche fragrances, but it’s good quality for this price. And if you don’t like it, at least you haven’t wasted a huge amount of money on it.

The single note listed here is wrong. I went to the official TO site and copied the notes for this perfume:
Top Notes: Bergamont, Ylang Ylang, Green notes
    Middle Notes: Iris, Jasmine, Rose
Base Notes: Oriental notes, Wood, Talc

What a lovely surprise! I expected this to be rather heavy, balsamic and overall suffocating, because of the Egyptian theme, but this is so fresh and somehow green. Such a pleasant fragrance, perfect for warm weather!

Previous “dislike” became “quite like”. Mysteries of nose and chemistry…
I found it on offer at 2.90 euro in a CAD’s store.
The bottle is different. It’s now blue. Again I was attracted by a kitsch bottle and wanted to smell Egypt… No Egypt came out, but this time I liked it enough to have it.
It smells quite fresh in the opening but it soon turns to the mix of spices clichè, only very tamed compared to big oriental, but mellow and not harsh.
It soon loses its sillage and projection but it’s longlasting on skin, at least 3 hours in a faint way.
I noticed that these perfumes from Tesori d’Oriente can smell annoying even if diluted and faint, but right now Aegyptus smells nice of me. I must have had a good sunny day. I’ll try tomorrow. Not a perfume that my picky bf can appreciate, but it’s fun for me.
Edit: by bf said it smells like a wannabe diluted Guerlain L’Instant.

I used Aegyptus perfume and body lotion, they are not too spicy and strong (I don’t like spicy perfumes), it’s a soft sweet fragrance that lasts all day, but I prefer Frangipani, Tiarè and Orchidea della Cina.

Interesting scent. Resembles “arabic” perfumes. I would say that it’s more masculine than feminine, but it would work as good on a woman. It’s sweet and ful of spices, but it also has some unexpected soapy freshness to it. It is also is quite strong. There are more notes in the composition that are not listed here on fragrantica.
I haven’t encounter such fragrance among almost all high end scent for man. So it’s defenitely something diffrent.
    I highly recommend it.

there is also the original site of “treasures of the East” in English … (tesoridoriente.net)

“Treasures of the Orient” produces almost everything: especially shower gel. but also: body creams, hand creams, scrubs and various perfumes.
The quality is not excellent, but very good, is a commercial brand that takes great care of the aesthetics of its products. They are very well cared for in the image and presentation.
The products attract many consumers because of the good price and for their fragrances, the famous spices of Asian countries and the Middle East.
These products love them for their oriental style, very charming. They attract a lot of consumers because the products of Treasures of the Orient are trying to bring the flavors of the ancient Eastern traditions, distant and exotic fragrances ….
These are produced by the oriental style, mystical and special about their spicy fragrances, oriental fragrances and sophisticated …
Their names evoke exotic places like egypt, yemen, Marrakech, africa, india, java etc. …
The packaging of many shower gel (and other products) attract as much for their aesthetic.
The best known series in Italy are: Aegyptus, lotus blossom, mirra, white musk, jasmin di java, hammam etc. …. but they are very good also “Africa”, “vanilla & ginger”,”royal oud dello yemen” ecc. …Personally I like almost everyone….
In Italy they sell very well in the packs with 2 or 3 products …

“Treasures of the Orient” is a company very well known and appreciated in Italy and in Europe.
in Italy is much more famous for shower gel that for perfumes …

Well, well, well… what a nice surprise! This is rather creamy. Sweet and somewhat fresh at once, if it makes any sense. 🙂
I’ll get back to you with regard to longevity, whereas sillage seems moderate.
I wonder what the note pyramid is. I definitely smell vanilla and opoponax in it. I’d be curious to know what you think the main notes are.
Thumbs up for this ridiculously affordable frag.

This is much, much, much more then I expected.
It is cozy, warm, sweet and spicy. Exotic and wearable unisex. Lasts more than 6-7 hours on my skin and the dry-down is lovely. Good for summer, autumn and winter.

I open the bottle. I spray. What comes out is a cold, alcoholic spray. But wait! soon, it calms down, it actually takes a few seconds and the penetrating alcohol vanishes!
I sense something sour like squashed tangerine, something fresh, sportsy actually.
I find this to be a very agreeable scent on a young man and quite odd for a woman. I find it a quarter oriental but it doesn`t match my aegypt description. it`s not very warm, it`s pungent and a bit peppery- that might be a load of different spices! it writes on the bottle that it contains 16 essences. well, unlike other oriental treasures from the same range, this one isn`t that tricky and it`s a bit different. it isn`t heavy as in ambre-vanilla, it`s heavy on cleanliness and sharp notes. It isn`t very well balanced but what balanced perfume lasts on an imbalanced skin? after all, the wearer defines the perfume. even if you use this or another one, you should still smell like yourself. it writes on the bottle that it is intense and penetrating. I wouldn`t personally call it intense… it`s not breathtaking~! use it the wrong way or in the wrong setting and it will become unbearably kitsch! i recommend wearing simple, light tones- from white rice color to creamy oatmeal beige. pale yellow or acqua fit well in the range. The bottle is detailed in aegiptian script and golden undertones contrasting with algae dark green. But that`s just for show!
platinum, warm golden jewelry should fit.
also, don`t trust what`s written on the bottle! kyfi essence? kyfi is a mysterious fragrance, unknown composition, reserved for the pharaoh. don`t overestimate this because of the attractive bottle.
this scent defines an active person- I find it unisex, not very feminine. better androgynous, mostly because of its unpredictable highs and lows. it`s not easy to sense it from the distance-it keeps to the wearer, but when you get too close, it`s very sour, medical and lemony without the citric ingredient, though.
I like it, mostly because it`s affordable and has a nice presentation bottle.
For a young male, deffinitely. one that`s into sports and doesn`t accidentally spray too much on the skin.

There is a Roman proverb which says that you do not dispute about tastes… I read some opinions about Aegiptus and would like to add mine. Though it is not a perfume for men I like it and I think it is better than some branded and highly praised EDT.Why? It lasts much longer on my skin than most of them, it does not cost shamelessly too much so it is affordable always and I think it is a good representative of an oriental taste in perfume. Visit some oriental spice bazaar and thats more or less that-a mixture which sometimes make you dizzy and sometimes elevated, depends on how you feel. But in spite of that it always brings you to a distant exotic place full of pleasant surprises and adventure.

Aegyptus is pleasant as a soap or body cream, but not necessarily in the “profumi” version. The smell is both warm and fresh, delicately spicy and unisex in its appeal, with 3-4-hour longevity on skin and much longer on the clothes.
Unfortunately, this fragrance seems too synthetic and a bit nauseating as a result.
I used to enjoy Tesori d’Oriente offerings, but it seems I have outgrown them somehow. TdO stopped to satisfy my olfactory requirements when it comes to perfumes, I still enjoy their soaps, though.

Opposite experience as the previous reviewer!
I was initially attracted by the kitsch bottle and when I tested the perfume expecting for… mmm, Egypt coming out from spray?!? Well, no way! This was a real stinker in my book, because it’s absolutely acrid and nauseous on my skin chemistry!
Notes are not listed specifically and Kyfi… well, come on! Kyfi was a secret and sacred scent of the past now gone!
It makes me more or less like L’Occitane Eau d’Iparie, which also smells terrible and acrid on my skin. Apparently I have a problem with incense.
A friend of mine was crazy about Aegyptus and it smelled much better on her! Still quite cheap drugstore, but a lot better than on me!

Been turned off for ages by the striking uglyness of the bottle so never even dared to try it (what a mistake)… until I recently got it as a present.
OMG! It’s great! So pleasant and peculiar… it smells of.. not really sure how to define it.. the closest i can think of is -a bit of an oxymoron- “fresh spices”. Opens a bit green and earthy like some sort of aromatic leaves..i imagine it as papyrus leaves soaked in the lime of the Nile… and then i smell the incense, mhyrr and other mixed spices. It’s unique to me. The sillage is fine, could be better though..4-5 hours. The good thing is that the bottle is so light you can carry it in ur bag and reapply anytime. I guess this is by far my favourite Tesori… therefore the lesson is: don’t judge a scent by its bottle! 😛

It is rather unisex, spicy… nice. Wish it wore more longlasting though.

This is very strong, a little bit masculine, very spicy, but creamy and warm. It’s also long lasting and pretty special for me!
