Excelent review from brandonR, agree on each aspect, this frag, is opposite from the original, i just want said its Yuzu note is so prominent… it fells dirt and earthy, for moments it reminds me Leau D’Issey… just for collectors.

Although I like Quasar Adventure, it was a little on the disappointing blind buy side for me considering the majesty of the original. Yes, the classic Quasar DNA is there, but the “off the wall” layers are gone, making Adventure feel like it was constructed more as a broader audience compromise than anything else. Ironiclly it comes off slightly less appealing than it’s predecessor for me, personally, but I still like it, and let’s be honest, Quasar is a tough act to follow.
Being that little brother Adventure is disappearing rapidly due to discontinuation, I almost bought the 4.2 oz, but now I think I’m more satisfied settling for the 2.5 oz instead.
What you’re going to mostly get here is a more muted edt comprised of fig gin and sage, with that mossy Quasar DNA still lurking in the background. The composition as a whole is extremely spicy. So much so, the scent almost feels hot on the skin. Gone is the banana leaf, but the green, tropical rainforest vibe is still there intermingling with boozy and slightly fruity overtones. A more serious composition compared to the original, but with less projection and sillage by my experience.
The only folks I would really recommend Quasar Adventure to, are the avid collectors. The ones who like to get their hands on the dying artifacts. I’m somewhat in that catagory, but with hindsight being 20/20, this one really needs to be sampled before taking the financial plunge. But of course opinions will vary.
I think I’ll hold on to this one more so as an occasional olfactory novalty ride. Adventure is a good scent that has something to say, it’s just that it suffered from living in the shadow of it’s extrovert big brother.
*Update* finding more love with this one as time passes. I think I can now say that I put in on the same level as the original, as Adventure is revealing more of it’s character. Adventure seems slighty more warm, focusing on aspects of green and fig, whereas older brother is more about wet tropical soil and bananas. I defiantly see the correlation, but each are different enough to co exist in a collection. You can’t lose with either one.

I had decided to take the month of April to go through my fragrance collection to wear 1-2 a day (at least one for day, maybe one for night), and not repeat any. This, as well as revisit some of my less worn/less favorite.
Well today I decided to wear Quasar Adventure, and remembered why I don’t wear it….
Unlike most other reviews here, I am not a fan. I do get an initial blast of gin, but then it quickly turns to a scent of rotting citrus fruit, and maybe a hint of the seaweed that batabidd had mentioned down below. I assume it’s the fig leaf, maybe in combination with the kumquat and sage (fig leaf as a fragrance note has rarely set well with me). It’s not so awful that I have to scrub it off, either that or I’m being lazy on my day off.

I’ve been a fan of Quasar for a long time, the original one. It’s sad that they discontinued both, the original and this one.
Anyway, I managed to get somehow two bottles of the original Quasar while in Barcelona and keeping them like gold :).
I also got a tester bottle of this from fragrancex and I must say that you can feel the original’s DNA in this one but I feel that Adventure goes on a more sweeter path. The opening is refreshing and sour and as it develops it gets a bit more sweeter.
This is a really great scent as well, it reminds me of a tropical forest in the morning after a serious rain. Perfect for the summer, along with the original one.
I’m really glad that I have two bottles of the original and one bottle of Adventure.
I wish JDP could bring back to life something similar to these…

Not an ordinary mass-crowd pleaser… Little bit of,,, Green leaves, herbal & mossy notes, pine soap, classic (little bit retro) shaving cream, cologne & after-shave aromatic notes. Woody concoction nicely & lightly mixed with bitterness of citrus peel and exotic smell of Gin. Unusual & unique kind of green exotic freshness. Has similarities with original version of “Quasar”. Medium longevity with noticeable silage. More suitable for spring & summer days mood. Despite that lingering not bad during rainy / colder weather. Imho

My first comment ever. May be this one is just easy to write.
Beautiful, fresh then soft. I like this one a lot. The bottle is just very unique. Not sure about someone else but for me is kind of skin scent which is good. Love it that way.
    Haven’t tried the original one.

This truly outstanding flanker is at least as good as the original Quasar, but seems to be recently discontinued and getting more and more difficult to find 🙁
@K1: A “quasar” btw is thought to be the highly energetic core of an unimaginably distant and ancient galaxy. Quasars are usually the farthest, most ancient, and most luminous objects that can be seen in the universe 😉

A variation of the original Jesus Del Pozo’s “Quasar”.
It’s an aromatic fresh fougere fragrance.
“Adventure”opens quite a bit exotic, but rather subtle and happily enjoyable green that citrus, with a prolongation of a dewy-nearly-aquatic aura around it, and a blend rich asian fruits.
The complexity comes on the heart of the scent where a fantastic green fig note with a effervescent yet dry gin tonic accord emerges (synthetic Bombay gin accord), bringing, actually, a closest olfactory idea of an aquatic pressence.
Geranium leaves and the glorious earthy notes comes along, with hints of wet soil.
I, also, can detect a soft seaweed note that remains from the start to the end in the entire composition, guessing that it comes from the blending of jacaranda and the sage.
A shy lavender appears in the background and a soft woody echo comes in action.
The dry down comes to end in a great mixture of precious fresh cut woods raising even more the unique exotic green aura that embraces the pyramid, and gratefully the original fig notes share path in here and become more noticeable.
The whole perfume is as simple and genuine despite its own complexity.
Quasar Adventure is a very fine fragrance that deserves more attention that it gets.
longevity is fab and the projection is monster as its previous old brother.
