Absinthe is one of my favorite drinks, so I had very high expectations from this scent. I’ve been eyeballing it for years and finally got a sample of my own to give this a try.
I must say i’m slightly dissapointed. Even though this is a very nice and likeable aromatic, almost aquatic scent, there was nothing the name indicates. Yes, there is a distinct wormwood accord at the opening, but it fades oh so quickly leaving me with an average aromatic cologne – perfectly unisex, perfectly suited for everyday wear, also extremely linear.
Absolument Absinthe is nice and pleasing scent, but there are far more superior scents out there. And don’t search for heavy wormwood note here, you won’t find it.

A pleasant fragrance, with a fresh touch, given by the bergamot and the watery aspect of the lotus; then the cold spicy notes of cardamom, nutmeg, and the little bitter and green effect of the galbanum hug the preminent note of the absinthe and cannabis (with a slight creamy note).
A good unisex and bracing fragrance, easy to wear, not strong, but with an average lasting power; especially suitable in spring and summer.

Not super impressed with this one. I totally get the similarity with this and CK One. Not JUST because it’s a citrussy fragrance, but the way it dries down to a much softer unisex feeling. There is something very similar in the make up of this.
It opens with a sharp almost vinegary acrid citrus smell. Tea is prominent and almost smells like lime. Not reminiscent of Absinthe in my opinion, and it doesn’t smell like absinthe at all at any stage of wearing.
Absinthe has an anise, almost liquorice smell to it and this doesn’t. It goes from sharp to soft very quickly and smells green and citrussy. But again, not TOOOO interesting really.
    🙂

My friend, a perfume maniac, brought this perfume from France. When she was buying it she has been told to paire it with Absinthe (to drink!) that having a couple of drinks enhances the intensity of the perfume. And i can tell that absinthe really makes a difference:)

I can see why some don’t like this fragrance and I did not like it at first, either. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it – maybe it was the chinese tea in the topnotes, but it smelled kind of cheap. It just turned my nose. And I still don’t entirely like the topnote. However, the middle and dry-down notes I found to be great, and that’s the reason I like it. Some other reviewers say it smells like Ck1 and I have a friend who smelled Absolument and also noted that it smells like Ck1, so this may be true ( I haven’t smelled Ck1 in quite a long time). Overall, I think it’s worth a try (but perhaps not worth the price).

ABSOLUMENT ABSINTHE (which according to the box is produced by Liquoristerie de Provence) opens with a bright burst of citrus and a strong, tonic aromaticity which fades somewhat but never really goes away. I am wearing the deodorant spray concentration, which is easily stronger than many edts.
The central notes (again, according to the box…) are absinthe and cannabis, and all in all I find this composition very nice–for what it is. The drydown is a woody aromatic with a slightly oriental edge. I do not consider this fragrance a floral green, as it is neither very floral nor very green. To me it seems woody and brown, with a fair amount of spiciness.
I would recommend ABSOLUMENT ABSINTHE at deodorant spray concentration (which is quite strong, with good longevity and fairly big sillage) as a cologne for men or women–it’s more aromatic than either flowery or sweet and has a decidedly masculine demeanor–distinct in notes but similar in tonicity to Clarins EAU DYNAMISANTE. The components are natural and the overall effect is quite uplifting.

To me, its a great blast of citrus and absinth. Really nice and edgy. But it doesnt metamorphose. However, I still like it very, very much !
