My favorite scent is the original 4711, which I’ve been wearing since I was a child, maybe 45 years. I have many, many other fragrances, all more sophisticated, but none that feels like my life, (except perhaps, for Joy). 4711 always brings me home, wherever that may be.
I live in a hot climate, so after a shower I splash the original liberally. When it dissipates, I select my fragrance. And now, I add Tom Ford Neroli Portofino on top for those days I want to smell it all day. Those who say they are different are incorrect, except for an amber addition they are the same.
Anyway, on to 4711 Lavendar and Thyme. One night, my feet were burning. (I’ve been in cancer treatment for years). Neuropathy makes my feet feel hot and this night I couldn’t sleep. I got up to splash 4711 on my feet to cool them and relax. I felt much better, but for years I’ve used the original during the day to awaken myself, so rather than drifting off, I felt energized.
I’m in the habit of spraying my sheets with lavender before sleep, and my cheap linen spray was empty. So I decided to try this as my bedtime spray and cool down.
It’s lovely. It is perfect for that bedtime spray. It has that 4711 scent I love so much, the Neroli and Citrus, but in front of that is the lavender and thyme. The lavendar is calming and relaxing as is the thyme. It comes in a splash bottle and also with a spray top, so I put the spray cap on. I now keep it by my bedside and spray on sheets to sooth to sleep, and it’s there to cool burning feet. The lavandar and thyme has enough of my home scent to comfort me and make me know it’s 4711, yet also feel different.
The thyme adds a little something unexpected and more complicated, so while I don’t intend to use it as a daytime fragrance, it certainly would work without putting your companion to sleep as pure lavendar would In fact, if this was my first introduction to 4711, I wonder if I would find it soothing for sleeP? Who knows. This one, I think is a bit more manly than the original although still unisex. It seems to last longer too although that is not based on a good test.
I do love these fragrances and perhaps will get the pink peppercorn next. The only problem is the longevity is non-existent so with liberal splashing you feel cool, clean, and scented-for an hour or so. Then the scent is only a memory- but for the lavender and thyme, I’m already asleep before it’s gone.

Loved this so much that I had to buy all the others in the same line. They are all lovely except for the Lemon one which resembles Lemon Pledge to me unfortunately. This one gets sprayed onto me to sooth my mind after I have taken off my suit after a long work day. I used to go straight to the garden after a long day to smell the flowers, but this is so much more convenient and doesn’t involve back pain. LOL. Anyway, this lavender fragrance is lovely and authentic and one of the better lavender scents that I have tried, and I recommend this to other lavender lovers. I’m not sure the sillage or longevity is very good with this line, but I haven’t tested them long enough to say for sure.

The only one in the Acqua Colonia range which I don’t like. I made a blind buy because the others I own were such winners. If anyone can suggest something to overlay with this I’d be grateful. On me, the Lavender smells fake and obnoxious. Just yuck. I wish I could find a lavender I really love to wear which actually smells like the real flower. Once again, suggestions would be most welcome.

To me, this one is a mix of the original 4711 and lavender water. Very pleasant and refreshing.

strong as well as medicinal smell at first, but it calms into soothing, clean, floral smell at drydown.

Top notch lavender scent,a powerful first spray then it calms down to a very nice Spring/Summer body scent! This was a blind buy and for the money spent a wise one!Just wish it lasted longer and had a better projection range,it’s classy and fresh!

One of the best lavender scents in the market, and speaks a person who is not a great fan of lavender scents. And by far one of the best fragances in the whole Acqua Colonia range, it’s a pity that this is so hard to find.
It is very similar to the classic 4711 Cologne, but stronger, dryer, with a sweet background (although it is not listed among the official notes, I am pretty sure there is some sandalwood) and a superior staying power, really good for an Eau de Cologne (although the sillage is pretty weak).
The bottle is beautiful, and can be used as a splash bottle or as a spray. Great value for the money.

I’m really enjoying the Acqua Colonia line and have two new loves. First, Melissa & Verbena, and now Lavender & Thyme. These two are perfect for hot summer days.
Dr. Harrison’s comment in his Bargain Fragrance Reviews: “A lavender for those who often stay away from lavender scents” definitely rings true for me. I’m a bit wary of lavender but I’ve already added this to my top shelf. It’s great for summer – very refreshing and soothing.
The top notes reveal a flash of the original 4711 that I remember from the eighties. The lavender is sweet and floral and combines well with the thyme. The overall effect is delicate and mild. Longevity is short, as you would expect from this type of fragrance.
If you’re not into soapy smells this might not be the one for you as it goes through a soapy stage. It makes me think of bathrooms of yesteryear – crisp, clean, polished and always the coolest (temp) room in the house!

Wow! I may have found a new signature scent.
While like ThisVulture, I found the lavender to be rather sweet, the herbal elements definitely took the edge off. Combined with an unlisted citrus note — bergamot, I think — the result was wonderfully fresh.
I was a bit surprised at the strength of the sillage and the longevity, because I was expecting an effect similar to the Original Cologne. Definitely at the high end of moderate in both cases, at least one me.

Out of this line (of the one’s I own of course), this is probably my favorite along with Pink Pepper and Grapefruit. This is just a beautiful and classy scent that is perfect for most of the year.
It’s modern, yet somehow retains a sense of yesterday. And it transcends time. This can be worn by virtually anyone.
Lavender and Thyme also lasts quite a few hours for an edc. And it’s very inexpensive. Everyone should own one of these simple scents. I recommend giving this a try.

    wow, is this ever nice.
such a soothing, fresh, natural smelling lavender with clean herbaceous scent.
    I could wear this anytime.
even before bed as a calming aroma.
    just lovely.

Strangely, I don’t get much lavender…I get mostly a warm light lavender and sweet herbs. Not bad…and fairly long-lasting for a cologne (4 hours in and I can still smell it quite clearly)

This one went totally chemical on me, unlike what other reviewers got. Try before buying a full bottle.

One of the best lavender fragrances available !!!
Lovely… It settles to a nice powedery lavender with hint of citrus after few minutes on my skin … For me it’s a winter perfume.. This not a very elegant perfume, But it’s very refreshing and modern…

Bought it a while ago didn’t pay much attention. Today I retested it since a friend asked about it. It’s so refreshing. Lots of lavender and citrus. Lovely.

They write calming on the bottle, but this lavender is not calming. It is invigorating! Naturally, fresh and for using at 3 PM in the office, when you wanna take a nap and you can not. Or you just woke up and are still slumberous…
You get invigorated and refreshed after 15 minutes and can concentrate again. Perfect for work!

Just goes to show that Lavender is not just the exclusive domain of old ladies’ dressing tables. This is modern, fresh and tantalizing.
