This was the first bottle I ever bought on my own! I don’t think I can tell you how proud 11-year-old me was walking out of the big department store in my town with Celine Dion’s very own perfume in my hand. It was also my first blind buy – luckily I ended up loving the smell anyways. It’s sweet, elegant and 12 year old me always thought herself the most sophisticated thing at school dances because of it (she was wrong, but I like to let her have it). It’s sweet and fresh and, maybe my memory’s clouded it, but incredibly ladylike. It was also my first heartbreak — I dropped it in the bathroom at German camp three years later and it seemed irreplaceable at the time. Now it actually is.
Maybe this wasn’t a review so much as a love story. Oops.

I’ve bought this perfume as part of a bundle on Poshmark, and was about to resell or trade unsniffed. It just didn’t look like something I would enjoy; yes, I was judging the book by its cover. The bottle is just not pretty, the lid is flimsy, and Celine Dion herself is not someone I particularly care for. But then I’ve read the notes, and when I saw watermelon, I had to try it. It was a pleasant surprise! It reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana L’Imperatrice, which I do enjoy. This to me is watermelon and purple flowers and summer sweetness. I think I will keep the bottle after all. I didn’t understand so many negative reviews; Sure, this is not exactly ground breaking, but I cannot find fault in it.

This is a curious little frangrance.
There was an intensive and very genuine watermelon scent the first time i opened the package, even before i sprayed anything. I could smell it from the bottle direct. But when i sprayed in on my skin, the watermelon scent completely disppeared. Even worse, if i put my nose up close my skin, i smelled something not pleasant faintly. It was very hard to describe, it was not floral or fruity.
But surprising, the watermelon is there, even 4 hours after the application. It is a naughty kid playing hide and seek. Clear distinctive watermelon scent will unexpectedly envelope you from time to time when you move around.
I get no floral scent. It is all watermelon for me.I have smelled no frangrance that have such a strong and genuine smelling watermelon presence and i am very tired of the current mainstream trend of very artifical and headache inducing sweet frangrance. The watermelon here is sweet (just slightly), light, bright, fresh, watery, cool and transculent (think of a mature refrigerated watermelon). Chic is pleasant enough for me.

I agree with the review of bobo1. The opening is a chemical blast of green notes and bamboo. After 10 mins. it turns into a nice aquatic for summer. I can smell watery notes, watermelon, peony and violet. The sillage is soft, however the longevity is surprisingly good – about 4 hours.

A very mediocre and unoriginal scent. I can’t believe that DKNY Be Delicious is still being copied. The bottle is clumsy and poor quality. I know it’s inexpensive, but it doesn’t have to look so cheap, especially with a name like this. The scent is not bad for someone who likes aquatic fragrances and doesn’t want to spend a fortune, but I’d rather stick with DKNYs, bottles aside, they have more depth.

I disagree with Bobo1- it is not more bamboo but it DEFINITELY WATERMELON SWEET. I get a lot of compliments from all ages – male and female. It is sweetly yummy and so very clean and fresh. Perfect for summer or spring or fall or winter. Hey, it is so good as deodorant and it is very affordable.

I really like this, it reminds me of Davidoff Cool Water for Woman that was so popular years ago. Chic is young, nice, fresh, and has lots more aquatic note than Cool Water. I really enjoyed the watery lotus sensation in the middle note. This frangrance is very likable and affordable 🙂 It’s harder these days to find a celibrity fragrance that has aquatic notes, as most are quite fruity, so this one is a super special surprise find, yay 🙂
The packaging really mis-represent the juice inside. I have the perception that this is for evening wear, however, this Chic best wear in hot summer days. If i could change this, i will re-package, re-colour the bottle and the juice. The light blue/green colours will capture the delightful of this juice inside. I just hope maybe there could be 2nd edition of CHIC, perhaps naming it Chic-Noir with a black bottle and golden cap! Also to make it an EDP…Yes? I am just day dreaming here 🙂

I haven’t come across such a green fragrance in a loooong time.The “freshly cut grass” kind.
The top notes are really strong and remain prominent, the flowers are hardly detectable.It is a pity because, although I am fond of green, grassy notes, on their own they tend to lack sensuality, they are not feminine enough.
I do think this could actually be worn equally by men and women.
Watermelon smells like cucumber here, but it is quite logical since they belong to the same vegetable(or fruit?)family.
Reminds me a little bit of Yves Rocher Bambou.
Lasting power is really poor;I know it is one of those less expensive fragrances, but if you have to touch up every hour…you end up spending as much money on it as on a designer fragrance.
If you are nostalgic about the aquatic/cucumber/watermelon/lotus fragrances that were all the rage during the nineties, you should find this one enjoyable, but I warn you once more about the mediocre lasting power and concentration.

Chic is CHIC. I don’t like sweet parfume’s but this one is delicate and modern. Use for spring/summer. Fresh and crisp and just so sweet as I can stand. On my skin the Melon-note is not so strong, but its there in background, very nice. Violet, Amber, Musk and Sandalwood is notes I can pick. Lovely fragrance to a good price. Lastingpower on my skin – about 1-2 hours.
Chic är CHIC. Jag gillar inte söta parfymer men denna är delikat och modern. En doft för vår/sommar i mitt tycke. Fräsch och krispig och precis så söt som jag kan stå ut med. Unfortunatelly, just like lots of watery perfumes this becomes very sour on my skin. The most dominant notes is melon but it’s way too strong and, again, sour me to wear it. Big dissapointment: beautiful bottle and advertisement and a teenage watery-fruity fume in it:(

I was very suprised to find that there was no green apple in this. Must be the combination of watermelon and green notes that create that appley tartness that immediately makes me think of DKNY Be Delicious.(Chic is alittle more complex and not quite as tart due to the water notes, yet still very similar.)
This fragrance is very pretty and easy to wear. However, the name? seriously inappropriate. “Chic” is far to fresh and casual to be called “Chic”.
For me, this is a lovely little spring and summer daytime fragrance.

a perfume dosen’t have to be super expensive or from a certain house for me to like it. it just has to be somthing i feel comfortable in and smells good when i wear it. that being said, i like celine dion’s perfumes and this one as well. her perfumes are light and lovely. spirit lifting if you will. celione dion always seems happy and joyful and appreciative of her blessings. i think her perfumes reflect that as they are happy and upbeat. the notes are usually a lot of different florals that don’t end up being head-splitting. i like this and wore it to work last night. i was surprized at how long lasting it was. i could actually still smell it faintly after 8 hrs. its a thumbs up for me.

Chic is for me the smell of south Portugal. I was wearing this fragrance during my holiday there, and it fitted perfectly to the green hills, orange trees, the ocean and the beach. It is a dreamy, green and lightly aquatic scent with hint of well blended flowers and a lot of freshness and cheerfulness in it. The bottle is not very handy to use, but still, the fragrance is what matters.

Nice sheer spring scent that wears a bit like Daisy on me, with an odd buttery ending. Still, it smells of clear sweet grapefruit (don’t know why as that’s not a listed note) and faint florals on me. I bought it unsniffed on a massive sale, so I’m fairly pleased. Not especially different, but pleasant and good for hot weather.

This is a beautiful scent! Dark and citrus smelling. Very seductive and mysterious. Not the typical Celine Dion scent. DOES NOT LAST LONG AT ALL THOUGH!

I found it when I was on a testing trip and I had to try it. It has a very strong watermelon scent with some weak flowery accord – very light scent for young girls and for those who don’t want to be flashy. I agree that it is the first Celine Dion perfume which is agreeable, but the lasting time is the same as all of the CD perfumes – sooo weak. After half an hour I couldn’t smell it on my wrist.
Fortunately there is a DNS (Deodorant natural spray) version of it which is in a 75 ml package and it is cheaper than the EDT version, more economical, and the lasting period isn’t shorter – I suppose it for those who can’t stand to give money for it.

Sampled this yesterday and to my surprise it is very nice, it has an opening of watermelon and something very green and then I could smell the flowers gardenia and lotus and then it turns into a nice amber woodsy scent and it lasts which is nice.The bottle is so nice it actually looks chic and different from her other bottles I was surprised to find it was a Celine Dion fragrance.
