Description
Carolina Herrera presents two new limited edition fragrances from the 212 collection. These are editions for summer 2013 simply named 212 Summer and 212 Men Summer. The fragrances are supposedly inspired by the colors of the sunset and transmit the youthful, fresh and luxurious spirit of summer parties and fun on the terraces of New York.
212 Men Summer opens with refreshing gin and tonic accord combined with lemon, mandarin, grapefruit and cardamom. Cool hedione molecule gives the scent of luminous jasmine that is mixed with masculine pepper and ambrox in the heart. The sensuality of the composition is achieved with accords of patchouli, musk and classic woods.
The bottles retain the original shape, colored in pink and blue in the classic “tie dye” style. The fragrances come in Eau de Toilette concentration.

I’m neutral towards this fragrance because as I do like it, it really isn’t anything special as to me, it smells and has the same aroma as Ralph Lauren Blue Sport. In my opinion, I would rather have the 212 however because it is cheaper and rarer than the Ralph Lauren Blue Sport.

I was not really pleased with this 212 summer, nothing like the first 212 back in 2000, that has uniqueness, I would recognize it anytime, but not this one, well so far is my first time wearing it, so lets see how it goes.
So far I can say I don’t like the opening is a blast of mandarin peel, very tangy and mixed with the gin it’s a kind of harsh opening, I was like ouch!
Update:
Now I can say I did not like it at all, it has some annoying note(s) that I can’t really stand, I would say is too much peel of the citruses going bad with the gin, but even the last dry out was unpleasant for me… ughh!! it is already listed for sell but I doubt it will sell soon.
Update:
I am glad it sold, I could’ve never worn this one again… I was going to say I am sorry, but really ain’t I just hated it…!

Ummm…Blind-buy…Jan’13 batch (Code – 300432)..Let me keep this very simple – this is an illegitimate child of Azzaro Chrome and 212 Men…Mixes the 2 to come up with a kind of sharp, citrus, herbal vibe, with an interesting cocktail smell that hits you first up when you give this one a full wearing..This is a false milestone in my never-ending journey to discover a vintage bottle of 212 Men (without the NYC logo)..And, I bought 212 Summer, thinking that its a 2013 batch EDT, and would thus have some character in terms of longevity and silage…But, the initial reactions have been neutral to negative..
To me, 212 Men (Vintage) remains the Holy Grail of designer fragrances – Have been searching up and over to lay my hands on some old juice, but can’t find it 🙁

Your basic run of the mill aftershave type citrus fragrance. lots like this already out in the market. nothing special

Amazing summer cologne! If you’re tired of too much citrus and bland aquatic colognes on the market right now. I would recommend this one, the main note is gin, but not in a “boozy” way.
It’s a refreshing sweet, aquatic, citric and gin. Once you spray the cologne you could immediately smell the sweet gin along with sweet citrus and sweet aquatic accords.
I can also detect a little bit of the pepper on the background.
The musk, woods sits in the background on this one and doesn’t really show up until the last couple of hours.
The longevity is about 7 hours on my skin and the silage is about arms length, depending also on how much you spay. I usually go with 3 on the neck and one on each elbow pit.
I am giving this a higher rating, because I am tired of the usual summer colognes in the market right now. I would recommend a “buy” for this one if you want to add something different to your summer collection.
I probably have 60 plus summer colognes, because I live in a tropical country.
I have winter frags also, because my other home is San Francisco CA and it’s so hard to wear them here in the Philippines, like Angel Men, Spicebomb and Burberry London etc. I can only wear them every time I go to the hotel/resort casino’s in Manila, because they are airconditioned, I digress.
Every time I wear a cologne and my wife gives me a compliment on it, I know for sure it’s a winner, she rarely gives me compliment because I am a fraghead and she’s used to me wearing colognes even at home. So, when she said that she likes this one. I made sure to buy an extra bottle, because it’s a limited edition. Her favorite though is Chanel Allure from 1999.
My overall rating is 8/10

it reminds me and smells a lot like Coney Island by Bond no 9. I like the fragrance & it does last long on my skin, it smells very fresh & has a good sillage. However sadly most summer fragrances smell citrussy or aquatic & the bottle has to be a shade of blue originality is dying.

generic citrus. boring & bland. Note to CH: your future 212 men flanker/summer MUST retain or emphasis on the distinctive gardenia notes. this 2013 version sucks.
Perfect – :
NOT ALL SUMMER FRAGRANCES HAVE TO SMELL CITRUSSY OR WATERY… BE CREATIVE PEOPLE!!

It’s good, but it’s sort of generic. Opening reminds me of Burberry summer 2013 or my beloved Armani code summer. It dries down very differently from those though. After a few minutes the citrus wanes and the gin is pretty dominant. It has that powdery/musky dry down like the original. All in all nice, but it can’t hold a candle to (and smells nothing like) 212 on ice (which I absolutely love).
