for me “Fairplay” is a mediocre effort from the normally solid house of Cerruti.
I’ve tried this multiple times but just can’t warm to it, seems a bit too synthetic and a generic “freshie” that we’ve smelled many times before.

I was at first very dissapointed that this version of Cerruti Fairplay bore no resemblance to the crisp, minty, sporty version of the 80’s.
Then I was even more dissapointed by the lack of originality of the newer version.
The longevity is poor, the sillage is zero.
It smells like a stale version of the original.
This is not the sort of premium designer fragrance that you would want to spend a lot of money on.You would think that a huge company like Coty would take extra special care with their premium (inherited) brands.

This goes into the same direction as “1881 black”, but it’s a bit fresher and spicer. Not bad.

Oh my god! Simply fresh spicy fragrance for men. Citrusy opening and peppery drydown, maybe oriental a bit. The scent that you’ve smelled 100 times from the creation of Acqua di Gio.
I haven’t found a notable connection to the original 1881.
