camphor of his breath.”

So here it comes, my first negative review:
Thank God the pump on my sample didn’t work properly and I only got a tiny spritz on my skin.
I got a massive wave of something I can only describe as chemical and not pleasant (as in NOT pleasant at all). First I was hesitant what to do, thought I ought to give it some time to let it settle, after all I’ve sampled perfumes before where I didn’t enjoy the opening but loved the drydown. But it became clear pretty soon that I couldn’t and wouldn’t leave the house like this (it was in the morning and I had to get to work). Decision time: layering with a two-dimensional perfume from my wardrobe so that later I would still be able to identify the hopefully better drydown. I went for Kumquat (Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermès). It worked for about 5 minutes. By the time got into my car there was absolutely nothing left, Yaguarete has managed to wipe out any trace of my citrus plan. During the following 45min drive to work I figured out what this scent reminded me of – In Germany, back in the 80s, you would find disinfectant for your feet in public swimming pools. This perfume smells like a highly (HIGHLY) concentrated version of that with a hint of mold. And this sillage! I arrived at work and went straight to the ladies to wash it off. Had it been a drop of red wine on a white silk blouse nobody would have noticed. But this scent just wouldn’t get off! Full points for longevity I guess.
The sample I tried was from batch II-XVI.
I think it was the first perfume with Massoia that I tried. I know that there will be no second one for at least a very long time.

Sprayed this on my hand in Holt Renfrew and spent the train ride home sneakily taking breaths of it over and over. It’s in its fourth hour now and at this stage of the drydown it intensely resembles Zegna’s Florentine Iris, which I have zero problem with.

Doesn’t work on me. I can’t smell it. I get a faint smell of the massoia note if I really dig in but that’s it.

This is Amber Xtreme ON ACID. Quite unexpected from Bedel. Probably sells incredibly well but smells like a rip-off and a niche copy-paste.
