Description

Successor of fragrance Rock Me! arrives on the market at the beginning of 2010, as a scent for summer. Its light composition is aiming at girls with free spirit for casual wear, complementary to the original perfume Rock Me!

Anna Sui suggests Rock Me! Summer of Love as refreshment of your summer day, ideal for each girl who hides at least one love song in her heart. The fragrance abounds in fantasy and romance. It was created with regard to the 60es – time of music, fashion, freedom. Be sweet, be sexy, be free – that is the motto of Anna Sui‘s new fragrance.

Outer carton of the new fragrance features a beautiful butterfly – symbol of freedom in Anna Sui‘s creations. The butterfly’s wings are framed with golden outlines, while colours decorating the butterfly and the whole package are blue and pink. Outer carton features symbol of peace and exotic flowers.

The flacon arrives in shape of guitar, with engraved butterfly on body of the flacon. The nuances are iridescent – ranging from pink to turquoise-blue. Composition of the new fragrance Rock Me! Summer of Love opens with bergamot, aquatic hyssop and geranium. A heart blooms with freesia, water lily and white peach, while a base encompasses musky rose, sandalwood and ambergris. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 75ml EDT, along with perfumed body care products.

The guitar shape bottle is so pretty. More than that pink and blue is my fav combination color so this fragrance get my heart just by its look.
I get water lily blends with bergamot right at first sniff. Very aquatic and fresh. Then I get slightly floral scent which is clean and pretty. However, I’m not a big fan of geranium so my nose can notice it very easily. So it’s cloying me sometime.
Unfortunately, the logevity is not so good (about 4 hours on my skin) and the sillage is also weak. It quite strong at first hour then sits (really) close to skin.
I just got it for collecting the bottle because it’s very pretty but I don’t think I’m going to repurchase it.

This bottle got me curious. It’s so fun and kitschy, so bad that it’s good. I really felt the need to try a perfume that comes in a baby blue and pink miniature guitar.
Well, the scent is not all that special. It’s basically a fresh, aquatic floral with some fruity tendencies. It’s a little creamy and a little citrussy. The peach is not extremely sweet or edible to my nose, it just gives the fragrance a nice juicy edge. This is a blended, “perfumey” scent that doesn’t focus on a single note.
But there is one thing in the background that makes Summer of Love weird to me – I sometimes get wafts of Pritt glue stick from this! Plasticky, sticky, with some artificial lemon note. I never got that from a fragrance before, so that was a surprise in this otherwise nice, but generic summer perfume.
I would recommend to sample this first (like I did) and to refrain from impulse buying that crazy bottle 😉

This perfume has a beautiful bottle too bad the perfume is not as pretty. I really wanted to like this perfume but on me it smells like a little girl’s cheap fake fruity scent. It faded fast but the icky scent lasted as a skin scent for almost 4 hours. It got worse over time to smell like chemicals. Very disappointed! I plan to get rid of perfume and reuse the pretty bottle for essential oils.

I’m doing m second review onths and what’s so funny is that I bought this tonight, well my husband did I just picked it out as one of my birthday presents and looking back at my last review on this I had bought the for y birthday day last year lol so anywho I AGAIN found the for $19.99 in the clearance asile of Shoppers Drug Mart. I love this so so much! To start…Can I just say how much I love the bottle!!! COME ON, I mean purple blue pastels in the shape of a guitar!!! Loving it! Now onto the scent! Hot damn this is a soft beautiful spring and summer fragrance. It’s so nice! One down fall is that the longevity is dismal at best and projection is also on the weaker side….BUT….Since it was only $19.99 I’m okay with that. I don’t know about anyone else, but I buy perfume an spray/bathe in perfume for my own enjoyment, not for anyone else. I don’t want to offend anyone or give those annoying perfume allergy crazies some kind of freak attack but I quite frankly don’t give a damn what other people think of me, or how I smell to them. I mean clearly I don’t want to stink, and I don’t want to wear so much perfume that I gag people but I don’t care if some Joe blow I’ve never met and will likely never see again thinks m perfume smells gross, I do it for my own enjoyment! Also, I find this comporable to the Incanto line….You know, like Versace bright crystal, Dior addict 2, guess woman, Marc Jacobs Daisy eau so fraiche etc etc , yes it’s been done a time or 20 by just about every perfume house going, but I never get sick of the different variations of these types of scents. I’m probably at the age were I should be trying deeper, more “grown up” type fragrances with some more depth to them, but I just can’t bring myself to get into those and always fall back to my fresh smelling girl summery scents!!!

I normally love citrus fresh and acquatic scents, but there is something about this one I don’t like. I think it’s the water lily and bergamot combo or something.. scrubber for me
UPDATE: I think I can say I’ve become used to it and it’s ok now. Still not a favorite, but ok.

Amazing scent, bottle, and concept. Light and airy- both the bottle and the scent. Makes a dressing table totally elegant.

i actually quite like it and i also love the bottle. i get lots of tea, soft citrus and and soft florals. it’s a light scent on me, perfect for warm weather when i don’t want to feel anything heavy on me. it projects softly and lasts a couple of hours.

So my birthday was a few days ago and I got a few gift cards for my store I buy perfumes….I found this there for 19.99….total blind buy because there are no testers for clearance items. I really like this. The alcohol smell is very overpowering at first buy after that settles it has this sparkling sort of MJ Daisy type scent…very pretty!

I wouldn’t say this scent is amazing but it isn’t horrible either it’s very neutral to me it smells like fresh ocean/aquatic so it it would be a really good summer scent the dry down turns into sweet freshness on my body chemistry maybeWith a hint of some sort of floral the bottle is beautiful tho

I love this bottle which was my main motivation for buying it and I thought it would be a nice change from my usual summer scents of coconut or fruity scents. This is another fragrance that reacts badly with my body for about 3 hours past the initial spray ~ it smelled like a really bitter green and I hated it.
However after the hours passed, I walked through my office & caught the sweetest hint of freesia & peach and to my delight discovered that it was ME! It’s now a little past 2pm (I applied it at about 7am) and I can still smell it as I move around.
Despite the slow start, I’m rewarded with a sweet, light & airy scent to get me through the bulk of the day. I’ll enjoy using it until it’s gone but won’t repurchase.

This fragrance was a blind buy on sale, I loved the bottle and reviews seemed in line with fragrances I like so I took a chance. I’m not disappointed. To me it’s very similar to Davidoff Cool Water. Easy to wear, but quite light and doesn’t stick around. A little sweeter than cool water but with the same fresh notes. A day fragrance for sure.

I’m beginning to think Anna Sui and I can’t get along.I have tried 3 of her fragrances so far,and only Secret Wish worked for me.This one, while being a “nice” scent,is,to me,kind of…boring.
I got a few compliments today, along the lines of “You smell nice”,but honestly,I’m getting bored with smelling “nice”.This scent is a nice, sweet, but not too sweet,fruity-floral.Completely inoffensive, and office safe.I did find a bit of a plastic note in it,which put me off it a bit.
The bottle is indeed adorable, but as was the case with Night of Fancy,I think the designers should have put more time into developing an interesting, unique scent, and less time on the bottle. For me,Anna Sui scents disappoint, because my expectations may be a bit high looking at these adorable bottles.
    Final verdict,nice,safe fruity floral,inoffensive,office safe,perhaps better suited for the younger crowd,teens/20’s.Moderate sillage,and longevity,about 3-4 hrs,in 70 degree heat.
    Would I repurchase? No
Recommend to a friend? Maybe my younger ones.
    It was only $12.99 at Marshall’s for a 50 ml,so it wasn’t a huge loss,but a disappointment all the same.

This one didn’t work for me. Headache in a cute little bottle. It’s a loud floral with meshed citrus. I don’t hate it, but it smells cheap (in the synthetic sense).
It’s nothing that will make a statement or become a signature scent.

I was looking forward to a juicy, peachy number, but this is another “fruity floral” that smells like bathroom cleaner to me. Absolutely horrid. The bottle is fun, though. Smells a lot like Vera Wang’s Lovestruck Floral Rush…I liked the original Lovestruck, be she “struck out” with floral rush!

I was very curious about this from reviews. I’m one of the happy ones that purchased it! This is a wonderful blind buy. I agree it’s light, but lasts because I can still smell it on my scarf from when I tested/bought it yesterday. It’s a sparkling bubble bath scent. I am amazed how lovely this is. It could easily be a first scent for a young girl. It would be the first choice of all the scents I own. Agyness Deyn is probably my favorite model and her sweet face is a match for this scent. I can’t pick out a single note. This doesn’t even smell like perfume. It is a new and improved Mr. Bubble scent! I will be going back for the larger bottle this weekend. It’s a must for me. The smaller bottle I purchased will go in my purse just to enjoy the novelty. This is so light, you can spray yourself right in the pew at a wedding or church and not offend. This is a youthful lighthearted and gay spring scent, and it’s mine…all MINE! 🙂

This fragrance to me is weird and I love it! It’s like peach candy rings, freesia, watery notes, and a salty somewhat greasy ambergris. I’ve never smelt anything quite like it anywhere. I agree it is kind of synthetic and it has given me a headache before. However, it’s also brought me a lot of enjoyment at the same time. To me this fragrance is summery and makes me feel a bit sexy. It sounds silly that I’d think it’s sexy but its just got a mischievous teenage undertone to me that brings back memories. This fragrance to me smells like something escada would put out.

I really wanted to like this one. I’ve tried Anna Sui before and was quite happy with my purchase. After reading some of the reviews, I thought I’d give this one a shot. I was expecting a fruity floral, but what I got was more like a glade plug-in air freshener. Honestly, I wouldn’t even use this as air freshener. It is just so sickly sweet and cloying. Upon first spritz, I was overwhelmed with a cloud of…cantaloupe? Honeydew melon?
Other reviewers said it smelled like peach, but I couldn’t detect that at all. Anyway, I’ll just call it fruit salad. Rotting fruit salad. I kept it on for a while, hoping it would calm down as it faded. It remained pretty loud. Overall, the whole effect was cheap, synthetic and headache inducing. The one nice thing about this fragrance is the container. The mini pastel guitar will make a cute addition to your dressing table.

Unfortunately I can’t agree with other reviews.
One of the prettiest bottles I have, but the most boring and non existent fragrance of my collection. I just don’t get it, it’s like there is one note in this. Oh we’ll.

Refreshing sweet scent of ‘water’ that last through the day….and somehow has calming effect. Perfect for hot days!

Oh my! What a pleasant surprise. It’s original without being overwhelming. Top notes are super nice (peach, I think) but then it mellows down to something powdery… not too sweet. Peachy.

This is quite an understated little fragrance. I quite like it, but at the same time its simplicity annoys me ever so slightly.
Rock Me! Summer of Love is a scent for those really hot days when you don’t want anything too overwhelming. It’s quite a watery scent with bergamot, freesia and water lily being the most prominent notes. It has an interesting soda water feel to it, which is both refreshing and plain, like the beverage itself.
Thankfully the peach doesn’t overwhelm me, which is a huge relief seeming that peach and my skin chemistry do not match. I didn’t pick up any hint of the geranium nor the rose, which is a shame seeming that these notes often add an extra dimension to certain fragrances.
Rock Me! Summer of Love really is subtle. It’s fresh in a delightful sense of the word, yet for once in my life I’m going to say that perhaps there needed to be some element of sweetness in the composition to balance out the crispness.
The sillage stays very close to the skin, however the lasting power is not bad. I’m yet to test this fragrance during the Summer months, but for what it’s worth, it makes me yearn for the sun and day-trips to the beach.

I’m soooo in love with the bottle…If the scent’s half as good as the bottle is pretty, I’ll buy it on the spot.
After all, that’s how I ended up with Noa, and I’m really glad I did it.
