Description

Designed to appeal to a younger market who is not yet ready for classic fragrance Fracas, Petit Fracas is a chic floral bouquet, elegant and enchanting, but not too serious. This youthful fragrance is perfect for flirty fashionistas or fashionistas at heart.

The tuberose note of classic Fracas is moved into the second tier in Petit Fracas. Opening with notes of fresh citrus (bergamot and mandarin) and pear, the floral heart of the fragrance reveals tuberose, in conjunction with jasmine and gardenia, atop a sweet base of cocoa, musk and sandalwood.

The Petit Fracas packaging is the characteristic sleek black bottle of all Piguet fragrances, with a pink label and a whimsical heart adorning the ‘i’ in the fragrance’s name. Petit Fracas was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Aurelien Guichard.

When I need a cocoa fix, petit fracas comes to the rescue.
    Creamy, luxury cocoa.
    Definitely my cup of tea.

Oh, Petit Fracas, you delicious, reasonably priced little gem! I love you, though I know those around me will hate you.
V fruity and sweet. I am surrounded by a happy little cloud!
I thought I was smelling vanilla, but maybe it is a combination of gourmand pear and chocolate? Narrowly escapes the Dreaded Pit of Bubblegum that Mancera’s Velvet Vanilla (similar, but a less refined blend) falls into.
    Sillage: moderate. Longevity: good!
    Buy? Yes!

Petit Fracas suits someone who hates tuberose, because it has more fruits and cocoa than white floral notes. I was convinced it has oud too. That’s very night time perfume with playful youthful character.

Petit Fracas by Robert Piguet is much more demure than the original Fracas. Fracas is a beastly white floral on the skin which is both lovely and frightening at the same time. I find that I have to be in the right mood to wear it. Petit Fracas, on the other hand, does not require the same amount of willpower to be worn.
Petit Fracas is a buttery tuberose fragrance softened by notes of icy pear, crisp bergamot, white musk and creamy sandalwood. It’s a much easier scent to understand and wear and can be the perfect segue for those wishing to learn how to tolerate the original Fracas.
The added note of cacao provides an interesting gourmand quality which is sure to appeal to the younger consumers. With that being said, Petit Fracas is still more of a white floral than a gourmand, but it’s nice to see blurred lines forming between fragrance genres.
Robert Piguet is one of my favourite niche brands. Not only are they extremely affordable, but they produce some of the nicest white florals on the market today. Fracas has earned its cult status for a reason. Knowing full well that Fracas isn’t for everyone, however, Robert Piguet as a brand has made certain to include more wearable white florals in their range such as Petit Fracas, Douglas Hannant and Mademoiselle Piguet.
Petit Fracas has excellent longevity and moderate sillage on my skin. I would recommend it for wear during Spring and Autumn as the scent wears best during the mid-seasons when it is neither too hot nor too cold.

Like a juicy, fruity tuberose bubblegum, if bubblegum could taste expensive and classy. I LOVE this beautiful, playful, joyful scent.

This is a “tuberose bomb” moreso than the ORIGINAL Fracas ! (Rather the CURRENT Fracas formulation). This is even more of a “tuberose bomb” than my vintage Fracas bottles (from the 1980s/ early 1990s – not a great time for Fracas as it was handled by some other company? Not sure– I did not get the whole story.
Anyway- THIS is what Madonna was copying when she made Truth of Dare– and honestly THIS is 100 times better.
Like I had said this is a “TUBEROSE BOMB” — if that’s what you’re after. (The cocoa note did not hit me …at all.)
Longevity was very very GOOD !!

I’m new to niche perfumes, so I won’t tell what I taste when I’m wearing a fragrance, because I haven’t enough experience and knowledge, but I’ll explain how it makes me feel: I think every scent recounts a different story, that may diverge from one another but has the same raw plot.
Petit Fracas starts with something already known: a familiar, warm, confortating vibe, that reminds me of a classy young woman- yet not a girl- well-mannered and classic (a bit retrò, too).
Later there comes unexpectedely a flirtating, decadent and perhaps nasty turn-up, lighted by a citrus note. Even though in a contemporary key. The result is very actual, sexy but also really misterious and sophisticated.
I think this scent talks about a jeune femme who just wants to pretend she’s a respectable bourgeuois, although she’s a modern seducing revoutionary, fighting conformism with a little fracas!
I agree, it’s not for everyone.

On first spray: fruity chewing gum, fresh ground coffee-chocolate (cacao). On the dry down petit bleeds White Diamonds Liz Taylor (older genre (old lady)). Need to layer if you want to bring dirty, muddy toys on the forest floor. Leaves rich opulent trail, takes no prisoners.

Testing from decant: So very pretty, super sweet and creamy. I like it alot more than Fracas because it’s so much sweeter with a chewy bubblegum thing going on .
Absolutely beautiful and I love it.

I’m another Fracas lover who thought I’d love Fracas Petit but sadly I dont. I barely get any tuberose, and I get way too much cacao and pear. Something about it doesn’t smell right to me, almost like it wasn’t mixed well. From the Piguet house I expected a better blended scent and a stronger dose of tuberose. What a waste of money! So sad!

Jeepers creepers, I hated this. I sometimes wear Fracas and MadonnaTruth or Dare, so I thought I’d appreciate another scent with a hefty slug of tuberose, but this starts out as Fracas plus a double dose of nasty. On my skin, the initial impression was Fracas plus chocolate and a really unsubtle dollop of spice. As it evolved, the Fracas notes died away until I was left with the spice plus wood. At that point it was quite pleasant, but not nice enough to suffer through the sickening top notes.
I was so disappointed. As well as Fracas I wear Baghari and Alameda, but Petit Fracas is not for me. I envy you if it smells good on you and I can tell from these reviews that it smells wonderful on some people.

this is a really cool perfume. i wore it for the first time a couple days ago. it lingered a full day after on my clothes, one of the longest lasting perfumes i’ve ever experienced, and the scent evolution is pretty much perfect. it doesn’t stray too far from the initial spray, but it settles and calms down from what starts out as an almost metallic bubble-gum smell. Maybe i’m not describing it correctly, but i don’t mean it in a negative way. I really like it. I don’t think it’s juvenile or ‘young’. Petit Fracas suggests that its a toned down and less fierce version of Fracas, which I don’t have experience with, but I can say that this one is bold all on its own. It’s very distinctive, and the longevity and sillage is up there with Alien, so if you’re looking for something really unique but not ubiquitous, this could be worth looking into. It’s loud, but it still smells niche and refined, albeit the scent does come across as somewhat synthetic. It’s an interesting paradox.
This is a very confident perfume. I cant see a young girl wearing it at all. It’s actually quite suggestive even though its almost candy-like quality can seem innocent. I wouldnt call it sweet in the same way as some fruity perfumes are. It’s not mass market.
I’d describe it as electric, intoxicating and surprisingly dark and mysterious despite the lack of the usual suspects in its notes composition. If I smelled this on someone I’d absolutely have to know what it was. THis was a blind buy for me but I think most would want to test it first.
Although I can’t pick apart the notes as i find it very well blended, my overall impression, which would disagree with some of the reviews I see here, is that this is not an innocent girly fragrance. It’s more like an innocence lost fragrance, which just might convince you it’s sweet when it’s actually very devious.

Omg talk about underrated. I finally figured out why this perfume is a love for me, I mean Big League love. This is a gourmand for the floral lover.
I never really got into the gourmand kick but now I can officially print a name badge and join the gourmies. Sweet creamy chocolate swirled with a syrupy pear topped with the cleanest tuberose ever. It doesn’t smell weird at all – it’s perfection! I am a white floral lover and I think this is better than Fracas because it literally brings joy to my soul.
This is not a sophisticated perfume like it’s mother. I appreciate the original for what it is but petite is so much easier to love.

I bought this accidentally wanting a sample of the current version of the normal Fracas and only realised what it was on application. The initial massive wallop of generic, extremely sweet fruit is just too much and wayyyyyy too cheap and destroys this fragrance for me. Pity, as the tuberose that comes later is a good tuberose.
This is Angel’s younger and less intelligent sister who likes being admired for being ‘sexy’ more than she likes sex.

At first spray I get bubblegum, banana and pear. As it settles into the skin the sweetness dies down a little.
The Jasmin starts to come through and brings on a sparkling quality.
This starts smelling like a Chanel perfume, a little earthiness in there too. But the bubblegum florals are present all the way through.
I was originally going to go with fracas but this played out so differently on my skin.
This perfume says playful but sexy at the same time.

The range of opinions on the reformulation of classic perfumes usually alternates between a sighing, “It wain’t what it used to be, kid.” and a howling, “They’ve RUINED it!” By all accounts, Guichard is credited with saving the Piguet perfumes by reformulation and maintaining the outstanding quality of the Germaine Cellier icons. Quite a coup. So, who better to design the flanker to the original than the man who keeps Fracas in its current shape?
In the mid 2000s, Guichard reformulated and relaunched the icons of the Piguet line: Visa, Baghari, Futur and Calypso. Fracas and Bandit had been reformulated in 1998 or so and already defined the Piguet line. The butch-femme pair reflected the lesbian aesthetic of Cellier’s time, barely coded for mainstream consumption. Guichard’s reformulations are the best in the business and his original work for Gucci, Davidoff, Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Mugler, Hilfigger, Versace and many others places him at the top of his profession.
After his initial work at Piguet, in the period from 2011-2013 he added 15 new perfumes to the brand. Exceedingly prolific, especially when you consider that in that same period he produced 26 additional perfumes for other brands. (per Now Smell This.) Of these perfumes he made for Piguet only one is a flanker: Petit Fracas. The others are all-new perfumes. I was very intrigued to see what Guichard, a technical expert at reformulating Cellier’s work, would make of a flanker.
Guichard kept the theatrical uber-femme spirit of the original but sets it in a more contemporary vernacular. It keeps the hyper-femininity of Fracas but makes a baby-doll version of it. From the sweet slap of the topnotes through the cocoa dusted drydown, there is always a recognizeable shape of Fracas. Rather than riff on the original’s themes (pretty much just killer hothouse flowers) he embeds a hologram of the original in the heart of L’il baby Fracas. The buttery tuberose, the doughy iris, the grape-like orange blossom still form the center of the perfume, but Petit Fracas substitutes the faint peach of the original for a potent pear note and an almost plastic musk. Pear and cocoa? The notes update the composition, but the perfume doesn’t aim for trendy. Rather than simply updating Fracas with newer materials and accords, Guichard fits the odd assembly of pieces together into something novel.
Guichard smartly avoids simply plucking a perfume out of its era and modernizing it. Petit Fracas is a great tribute to the original perfume and perfumer. In a way, Guichard makes the mirror image of Fracas, a notoriously feral flower. He substitutes the erotic role role of the vamp from the original with a baby-doll’s exaggerated sense of spectacle (think Coutney Love, who incidentally wears Fracas) Despite the olfactory differences of the two perfumes, they both engage in lipsticky feminine role playing.
Now give me Petit Bandit, please.

Well I guess I’m supposed to be in the wrong demographic for this fragrance. I’m probably old enough to be considered one of those women who should stick to ‘mature’ fragrances.
Codswallop. This smells good on me so I’m glad I wasn’t put off trying it.
I have tried Fracas because I adore tuberose but it did not sit well on my skin. This is much lighter and doesn’t feel as cloying as it’s older sibling Fracas. The sillage and longevity can hold it’s own as well. I would agree with the comment that it is a good fragrance as an introduction to tuberose fragrances in general but even if you are used to more heady tuberose it wouldn’t hurt to give this a try.

For those of you that have read my reviews you will have noticed that I gravitate towards beachy and tropical fragrances.I also love gourmands as well but I like sophisticated gourmands.A couple of years ago I saw this fragrance was going to be coming out and I thought I would love to try it as I love the original Fracas as well. The original is a tropical white floral with strong peach skin notes that smells like hot sun on skin.I also get a suntan lotion vibe that comes naturally in white florals.Petit Fracas is very similar to the original but with a slight twist. On my skin it opens with a blast of bubblegummy fruit. The fruit is abstract to my nose.It smells slightly fruit punchy as well.It quickly morphs into Tuberose and Gardenia cloud and I mean cloud. Its lush creamy and sweet.I still get a suntan lotiony vibe that makes this wearable in the summer months if not oversprayed. The cocoa in this is very subtle and I mean really subtle on my skin.If your looking for Angel chocolate you won’t find it here. Its a very dry cacao that is slightly vanillic and it blends beautifully with the sandlewood. This is sweet but the strong tuberose and gardenia keep the sweetness in check. This perfume is all about tuberose and gardenia on my skin. There are some fragrances that are more of a costume fragrance and this is one of those scents.I think of tropical retro clothing, warm summer nights, fruity punch and sultry hot white flowers and sweet with a slight cocoa edge.I love this perfume. Its a glamour girl sent and although I don’t think I would wear this every day this is an awesome fragrance to have in a collection.I think of summer, the beach, fruity punch and hot white flowers floating on a night breeze. This is a loud fragrance and it will get you noticed. No more than two sprays or it will be too much.I love this perfume! Its sexy, fun, fruit punchy but all about the tuberose and gardenia with a little bit of suntan lotion as well.Try this with a soft coconut lotion. This is my loud fun flirty fragrance that makes me feel so girly.Think of old retro beach movies and chocolate milk shakes.Fun and glamourous at the same time.Top quality fragrance. If you like original Fracas you will love the little sister!

Petit Fracas has become one of my top favorite fragrances to wear. One that I would choose to keep if I had to downscale my collection to a mere two or three scents.
Usually I have trouble detecting the subtlties of contrast if the fragrance is super sweet. That makes it less challenging for my senses…and if there is one thing I am sure about it is that I must be challenged. Otherwise I tend to get bored. This fragrance started out as if it could go that direction for me, but it soon started to intrigue me
First, there is that fatty cocoa-butter accord, kind of chocolatey at that. Weird, I thought crossed with Tuberose, which my skin tends to overpower at any amount.
Then there at the other side comes the citrus-the concerntrated kind like in the cannisters one adds water to to make juice! This couldn’t work!!
But it happended!! With each wearing what seemed random settled into something that not only made sense, but a stunner!!
Wow, a contemporary perfume that I could sink my claws into. Every time I wore it I fell a little more in love with it, until I became besotted with it.
I’ts that pear!!! So juicy and wondrfully reminicent of my favorite Bosc in full ripeness.
The pear was a genius addition, rounding out the sweetness. I must say much more appealing than that peach for me in the original.
I love Fracas Original. It is a work of art.
I feel a little uncomfortable wearing it everyday because on my skin it feels frankly sexually provocative.
Truthfully, there isn’t a fragrance that I know of that smells so blatantly sexual. All those fleshy flowers!!
On my skin, Petit translates as both elegant and free spirited.
The whole composition is awesomely concentrated and long-lasting. You can count on a wallop of sillage, so be careful with this one.
Original never really grounds itself on me. It’s imprint is fleeting, then is detected in drifts and drafts.
A contemporary fragrance that doesn’t have that super strong alcohol
burst early on.. Another sign of the caliber of this fragrance.
For what it is: a pure five. Excellent ingredients, longevity sillage which makes it is so worth it’s price tag.
While there are many perfumes that I am not sure about repurchasing, Petit is the Fracas for me!

Petit Fracas is an exuberant fragrance that never fails to make me feel a little happier. It kicks off with a huge blast of fresh mandarin orange peels and pear jam. The heart of the fragrance is all about rich chocolate, lush gardenia and creamy, buttery tuberose. The sillage is huge for the first hour or so, but it quiets down to a cocoa-dusted tuberose-gardenia nestled in a cozy cocoon of nutty, creamy-woody-vanilla that sits close to the skin. If any of this gets on sweaters or scarves, it settles in attractively and lasts forever.
Side note: This does not smell like a flanker. It’s loud and it has a good dollop of tuberose, but it’s not much like original Fracas at all.

This is an enduring, ultra-sweet fragrance that is very noticeable. When I tried it on, for the rest of the day all I could smell was Petite Fracas. It’s nice in a girlish way, gives a “pink” feeling. Very feminine, very cheeky.
Update: The lasting power is incredible. It smells as potent as it does after the first spray, several hours later. And does develop into a cocoa-tinged masterpiece. It’s a special fragrance and one that could become a signature for someone very easily.
Part of the appeal for me, is that I tend to dress casual (out of office) and I like the pairing of casual clothes/tomboy style and the sweetness of Petit Fracas. It makes for a punchy and intriguing combo I think.

For me Petit Fracas is love at first sight. A nice lady at bergdorf goodman sprayed it on me and I couldn’t’ stop sniffing off my wrist. I usually do not buy perfumes after first encounter; I would do tons of research and try a sample for at least 10 times to make sure I truly like the perfume. Petit Fracas is the first perfume ever that makes me fall in love after one spray. The rest is history.
Creamy, divine, super long-lasting – which is a must for me when I buy perfumes. Usually I put it on in the morning, and I can still smell a strong endnote at night. If I put it on my hair, it would last for days. I always get tons of compliments when I wear it, and my friends would always say “ah this scent is so YOU!” I wore it during one of our first dates with my boyfriend, and I still remember the look of enchantment on his face.
Petit Fracas has quickly become my signature. As a white floral lover who demands long-lasting power, I’m truly grateful that I found my signature!

As a huge fan or the original I was more than eager to try this.
“Petit Fracas” for me is a very sweet perfume, it’s far superior to other floral fruities, but I can’t say this is my style. I dislike the pear note as it’s rather “shampoo’ish” to me, I also feel that this is a bit too sweet, not because of the tuberose, but mainly because of the added cacao and pear.
I do not find this young and innocent, it is still very old school and similar to “Fracas” just the tuberose is tamed down, it also has a longevity of 7 hours.
I would suggest trying this to those who love the original and might fancy something a bit different, but in the same traditions.

Very heavy, realistic flower scent. Creamy, warm and elegant.

I am both curious and suspicious when it comes to supposedly modernized or revisited versions of classic perfumes: on one hand I do understand marketing rules and the willing of many Brands to be up-to-date without abandoning the glorious trail left by their masterpieces, on the other I think there is – or there must be – a good reason for a fragrance to be considered as timeless and often used as a comparative for valuing other scents in the same category, hence there’s no need to appeal younger crowd with kind of easier to wear variations.
But hey, that’s just my humble opinion, and sometimes I get surprised by the beauty of some historical fragrances’s little sisters (or, age-wise, even children or nephews to them). That’s what happened with Petit Fracas. This fragrance somehow manages to fascinate me, and while I feel I could never pull off the opulent and uncompromising Fracas I would gladly find a place in my wardrobe for this one.
Since my first encounter with Petit Fracas the word “retro” instinctively popped up in my mind without any apparent reason (even though I suppose tuberose is responsible for that kind of ancient vibe).. each time I dab some drops from my sample I am carried away by the reverie of being a young lady in the early Twentieth century, meeting my lover in an intricate maze surrounded by sultry flowers and succulent fruits while a chilly wind moves my hair and my velvet dress.
An almost caramelized pear greets me, made even more vivacious and youthful by an enticing breath of brisky citrus notes; as soon as this EDP settles on my skin, I am introduced to a harmonious, elegant, softly creamy accord of white flowers, powdery cocoa and tuberose, here thankfully enhanced in its fruity and mouth-watering facets and almost devoid of its usual intoxicating vibe. The whole effect feels much more abstract than natural, as if the perfumer wanted to evoke a precise feeling or painting an image instead of replicating the smell of flowers and fruits: whiffs of delicate petals and juicy nuances surround me like a gentle breeze, and as minutes pass I am more and more reminded of the smell of something… wedding’s confetti! More exactly, the romantic and vaguely nostalgic scent of those little tulle envelops in which each almond is enclosed, retaining the smooth and ethereal aroma of sugar and fabric (it’s surprising how the scent of white florals is able to suggest such olfactory sensations depending on the way it is rendered – coconut, butter, almonds, even peach at times – and that’s one of the reasons why I find those notes so fascinating and magical). The fragrance doesn’t seem to change drastically from there on, it just gets a bit rounder and more intimate in the drydown, dominated by a soapy hint of tuberose lying on a base of sweet musk and subtle sandalwood that accompanies me for several hours. A huge sillage is not to be found here, this EDP lingers tenaciously but in an extremely natural way on skin… I guess people around me would get a sophisticated, feminine and slightly malicious trail as I pass by wearing Petit Fracas.
All in all a very well done and lovable fragrance, a must-try for white floral lovers: thank you again, dear Fragrantica friend, for your thoughtful gift of this sample 🙂
(While the familiarity with Fracas is pretty detectable, I honestly don’t get strong similarities to Madonna Truth or Dare – except they’re both centered on white flowers and sweet notes… this one is subtler, more refined and doesn’t show the suntan lotion effect I definitely get from ToD. I like both, but in a different way and for different reasons).

Petit Fracas is a gourmand tuberose perfume.
The opening is sweet and fresh at the same time, pear and citrusses play nicely together. In the heart it’s a Fracas – I mean a wonderful tuberose. And the base…the base is just a delight, sweet and chocolaty. Petit Fracas is playful, joyous and flirting younger sister of charming and elegant Fracas. Very enjoyable!

Now THIS is the fracas i can get on board with. It’s a sly little devil that insinuates the tuberose in the middle/drydown versus the VERY FIRST THING that hits you. This is lovely and thick and creamy and sexy and ladylike all at once. Like I said, I’m on board with this one. Now, onto coughing up 150 clams.

Sincere apologies to those who love Petit Fracas. I don’t hate it but…
The citrus and pear make the opening interesting but they quickly slip away, leaving overblown tuberose, Aunt Millicent’s gardenia and a bucket-load of saccharin.
Give me the original any day!

Petit Fracas opens with familiar fruity burst, which is pungent and sweet and sharp. For the first 30 seconds it might just be the latest strong fruity modern perfume, but there emerges a slightly pepperyness which then turns into the familar heady tuberose of Fracas. It might be hiding beneath the gourmand chocoalte and fruit, but Fracas is there somewhere. As this fagrance dries down it becomes a sweet heady whte floral with a fruity gourmand twist, not sickly sweet, not nauseating, but certainly edible. The heart of this perfume is not that far removed from the original, but it is modern enough to appeal to a new generation, or anyone who found the Fracas just a bit too much.

I received this perfume today as part of a graduation/xmas gift from mum and sis. I already own Visa of which I absolutely love. Petit Fracas is just as beautiful in a completely different way. Its such an interesting clean musky sensual scent – not as sweet as Visa albeit just as refined and charming. I love the fact that both perfumes stand out from a lot of generic smells on the market. Such a comforting scent that is far more innocent compared to its ‘bomb-shell’ sister Fracas.

Exactly @genny17 – ! Petit? This is a jet plane of a perfume. I have to say that this post is in sympathy for those people who were asphyxiated by ‘Poison’ in the 80s (never was a perfume so aptly named). I used to wonder what the note was that so disturbed me – it’s tuberose, and it seems to be love or hate.
My take on tuberose is a back alley where you go to find some spare parts for you car, in haste you step right into a pool of petrol. It’s high summer, there’s been no rain, so this is super condensed petrol (extrait de petrol), there’s no way of losing the aroma without a thorough shower (involving loofahs or exfoliant cream) and a complete change of clothes. I’m not exaggerating when I say this smells exactly like old petrol to me.
I find it so strange that this note is seen as ultra feminine – I love the idea of a voluptuous ultra femme diva who makes no apologies for who she is, but to me, tuberose is a huge turbo diesel fart so enormous that it refuses to diffuse even when you open the window.
This flower must really divide opinion in the perfume world, or is it just me?

Might be called Petit but it still is unmistakably a Fracas!! So not very wearable in my views, unless you love Fracas to start with. Petit Fracas is smoother , the tuberose mixed in with a nice cocoa note.Piguet makes a huge statement with his fragrances, and it is either love or hate. For me they aren’t wearable, they are suffocating, and abrasive, almost sticky. But very recognizable no doubt. For some no doubt a masterpiece that will endure.

I don’t know but this smells amazing…it not Fracas but Joe Garces the CEO of Robert Piguet market this scent for younger crowd because his daughter did not like Fracas. It does have a french twist but I think it an easy fragrance to wear not a dark mysterious fragrance but an uplifting one… it has a fracas note but more of citrus fruit…Amazing… My Aunt gave me this bottle since she gave me Fracas as my first perfume. Amazing….

Opens with a fresh air of fruits, and I can detect Chocolate note from the first moment, is not loud and is very smoothie.
Then the rich opulent floral notes are appearing, Gardenia and Tuberose, mainly, but way modernized, less strong than regular Fracas. Always mixed with the Chocolate hint, which makes a fantastic different joint.
Base notes makes the fragrance very creamy and pretty.
As They suggest, is young and innocent, also I find it very sexy, because the floral updated side.
Elegant, and as always by the brand and nose, very french.
    Different from what’s out there…
