Description

Nina is a new modern fairytale fragrance aimed at younger audience. Nina is an elegant floral-fruity gourmand fragrance, the scent of candied fruits. The composition starts sparkly and spontaneous, just like a carefree laughter with the fresh citrus notes of lemon and lime. The sweet gourmand heart is juicy and caramelly due to candied apple, praline note and vanilla whose opulent veil wraps the softly sweet peony and the Moonflower. Finally the apple tree, white cedar and balmy musk notes are touching your skin with their warm and soft sensuality. The fragrance was created by Olivier Cresp and Jacques Cavallier in 2006. The new Nina fragrance has replaced the old one with the same name, created in 1987.

I adore this fragrance but am really disappointed in the longevity. It doesn’t last more than an hour on me. Considering spraying on my clothing for a longer lasting scent.

To me there is spices and musk in this one, especially on the drydown, and I don’t like the combination this is made of.
Still: an easy scent to wear and very inoffensive. But also very forgettable to me.

Fresh, citrussy, just like the smell of Granny Smith apples. I don’t think this is suitable for a perfume, since I find it quite acidic smelling.
A lot of green apple with sweet praline, citrus and in the drydown some peony and musk appear.
Sillage is moderate, longevity is about 5-7 hours.

I really tried to bring myself to like this scent because I love the bottle and the concept behind it, but it’s so “meh”, and this is coming from someone who has no problems whatsoever wearing popular perfumes (LVEB is my #1 perfume, and it’s a bestseller, but I don’t care because it has every reason to be). This is just incredibly generic. I get no praline from it whatsoever (try LVEB for that – gorgeous!). This is just… meh. Very uninspired. Try L’Extase from Nina Ricci for a truly beautiful scent, that one is one of my absolute favorites.

A virgin Apple-tini served at a debutante cotillion.
A twist of lemon peel, green Jolly Rancher syrup, some cream soda.
And the breath of what I want to think is apple blossom, but is probably some kind of synthetic lily. (It works, though, like that bit of spandex in the silk knit shirt that would be shapeless without it.)
Sweet white musk on the bottom, the way the paper smells after you’ve poured all the sugar out of the three pound bag.

Very pretty scent. Its mostly musky floral on me with a touch of something tangy, maybe the lemon. It does smell exactly like Jessica Simpsons Vintage Bloom, Which I own & love. They are so much a like I dont feel like I need both so I will stick to Vintage Bloom which you can get for like $10.

I love the bottle. Very adorable.
Not a fan of the perfume inside it. In all truth, it smells like a box of the Ludens Wild Cherry cough drops, in the white and black box. That had all melted together in my pocket on a hot summer day. I ate them as candy because it was not a strong cough drop, more resemblance to a mild candy.

This scent reminds me of my youth since I wore it through middle school and high school. With my untrained nose, at the time, it smelled like orange popsicles.

I first saw Nina at an airport and thinking that it’s the most beautiful bottle I’ve ever seen. They didn’t have testers so I never smelled it but I wanted it since I was 13 years old.
By the time I was 18 or 19 I completely forgot it existed and my mom surprised me for my birthday of a bottle of Nina which I’d still never smelled but loved.
I got a lot of fresh lemons and apples and the dry down was a soft praline which does have a candy apple thing to it.
This just smells like being carefree and happy, I’d spray this every 3 hours because the longevity isn’t great I wish there was an EDP of this.
It was my signature scent for a few years and I had always got guys asking me “who smells good?” and “what is that? No, tell me, I want to buy it for someone”.
This can’t possibly offend anyone, it’s like Clinique Happy in the way it just makes you smile!
I’m now almost 25 years old and I just repurchased a bottle of Nina, it smells exactly how I remember it; sweet but fresh, girly but not juvenile, cheerful but not obnoxiously so.

The bottle is lovely. I was expecting someting very sweet and floral, but on my skin it turns woody:/ I gave it to my mom and on her it smells very sweet and a bit of citrusy.

I certainly smell the praline note, I would definitely agree that this is caramalized apples! Reminds me of toffee apples you would buy at the fairground. A sparkling gourmand fragrance, I would personally say aimed at a younger audience. This lasts a very long time on me, which I was surprised by. Honestly, I would buy it just for the gorgeous, gorgeous bottle.

This I had on my want list a while back, but never got around to buying it.. And I don’t know why, up until my partner took me shopping to choose a perfume, and I thought why not grab this one. He asked me twice if I really wanted it, and I said yes, it wasn’t too expensive, so I thought I’ll give it a go. He bought it, and back then it was summer/spring, I didn’t wear it much, but that night we went back to his place and he wanted me to open it right away lol. I did and sprayed my arm twice I thought ‘sweet lemon apple bomb’ he didn’t say much but “mmmm not bad”..
Guess it wasn’t wham-bam enough for him, like pink sugar was 😉
Now it’s winter, and I’m home tonight I took this out and sprayed it, WOW it’s so much more sweeter, I get praline & apple. It’s been 2 hours since I sprayed away, still going strong!
I’ll try and wear it once I see him to see what he has to say this time. I’m sure he’s going to love it!! Fingers crossed.

Almost every girl in my high school back in 2007-2008. It is a very youthful but not childish scent. It lasts long but has a very mild sillage. I remember the distinct fruity tones of it, but not much else. It is a very inoffensive perfume that will work for a broad range of ages and professions. A lovely everyday scent!

  14. :

    3 out of 5

I get red caramel apple too.
The drydown on this scent is still my favorite. The initial apple scent is too young and gourmand for me, but the drydown is a lovely mix of apple and…. Warmth. I have no other way to describe it. It doesn’t smell like cooked apples; it smells like beautiful warm skin wearing a faint perfume.
My boyfriend thinks it’s ok: not a scrubber, but nothing worth commenting on. But for me, it’s still the scent that glues my nose to my wrist.

Is it only me that detects RED caramelyzed apple? nothing overly citrusy and sharp, great. The dry down is woody and sort of smokey. Gets better in time and I love it.

  16. :

The peony, apple, citrus, and musk gives off a strong ‘green apple shampoo’ vibe, which I truly enjoy. The praline note is sweet enough to remind me of country fair food. Girly, super sweet, childish, and summery. I know a lot of people don’t like this, but I find myself loving it against my better judgement.

I remember smelling the Sample in the magazine when this first came out I remember how good it smelled a lot like citrus and apples and well a little floral I remember how much I loved it.. Recently I purchased a bottle of this it is nothing like I remember.. It’s lime/spice/fruit/ woody… Smells very similar to Bath & Body Works Secret Wondetland that’s the one I found VERY close in comparison to.. also the drydown has been done in soo many fragrances such as Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.. Also reminds me of Play it Spicy by Playboy, Wonderstuck by Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s Heat Rush.. Soo ordinary, a little sweet and cheap smelling:/ I was hoping it was going to be what I remembered it was but unfortunately not “sigh” oh well.. at least the bottle is cute/pretty looks good in my collection so I will keep it and use it until it is gone but I will most likely not buy this again.

Very pretty bottle. So much so that to this day I keep it just as a decoration. And I dust it carefuly. 🙂 It starts great, all lemons and red apples and powdery caramel. Pretty. Melts (fast, half an hour) into a patchoulish burnt caramel puddle with ashtray scent mixed in. Sad, for such a nice bottle.

This is my second bottle of Nina and I love it. It brings back tons of memories from back in 2012. I love it better this time around and I will surely repurchase after this bottle is over.

It may not have been the first of its kind, but it was undoubtedly the most iconic of the floral-fruity fragrances of an era that was already globalized. At the time, girls around the age of 14 to 17 only talked about this perfume and Nina Ricci’s famous apple reached very high sales numbers, competing with other apples, those of the Donna Karan brand.
The concept was to bring back Nina’s youthful years, the unconcern of a tender age, her delights and dreams. The bottle came in the shape of an apple, the forbidden fruit, the representation between innocence and sin. And the metallic finishing with three silver leaves is of extreme good taste.
Nina is that kind of sweet scent, which is not so sweet. It’s understandable? No? I’ll try to explain.
The official composition quotes head notes of Calabrian lemon and green lime. Then, a body designed to remember a candied apple, combining notes of apple, praline, vanilla and gardenia (not peony). Finally, a slightly woody base, with cedar, applewood and musk.
On the skin, the result ends up being a fruity and acidic fragrance, at the same time sweet and sugary. It smells like an apple caipirinha prepared with care, having pieces of apple macerated in a lot of sugar, being poured on the skin. Then, as time goes by, the heart brings a fruity nuance of apple that is far from being cloying (which, in my opinion, is the best feature of the fragrance). It is here that lives most of the complaints of some users, who hoped to find a literal translation of the candied apple – caramelized and gourmand –, but just met a green and succulent apple.
In the end, the base just ends with the fun and does not present any novelty or surprising facet. We have a slightly woody side, in which the cedar merges to the musk and gives a daytime feeling to the creation. But the best part of Nina is its output and the initial evolution. For this reason, it is worth to reapply every four or five hours, just to feel all over again. But take it easy, because the fragrance exudes with firmness and has good durability.

I wore this at 16 and it smells like a teenaged girl. It is fun, sweet, pleasant and I’m guessing “drives guys wild”.
The bottle is charming, I always liked it.
Would I wear it again? No.
Would I buy it for a young girl? Definitly.
This is a perfume that brings to mind summer days, hours of getting ready with friends as well as the exploration of scents, style, make up etc.
Although it is fun, flirty, caramel apple-ish, it DOES NOT have the headache inducing thing found in DKNY’s Be Delicious (all of them). I recall it also being long-lasting on my skin.
Would not recommend it for anyone over 21.

  22. :

I start by saying I love the look of the bottle (and those of her list of flankers). It is so charming and adorable. It brings to mind a delectable fruity juice, but that is a misdirection.
The smell is not unpleasant, but it is, all at once, sharp, tart and herbal. It’s certainly interesting and I keep smelling the back of my hand waiting for the sweetness of the pralines and some soft musk to tone down other notes. So far, they haven’t made an appearance.
To say I was expecting more from this is an understatement. It is a well known and popularly discussed here and on other sites. I’ll keep trying to see if maybe Nina and I just more need time to get to know each other. Until then, I find her lovely to look upon, if not to wear.
Maybe I should look into one of the flankers to find whatever it is I thought this was going to be…..

On my skin, all I get is citrus, wood, and musk. I wish that I got more toffee and apple…This was sadly the most disappointing blind buy and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a candy apple fragrance, or buying based on the voted notes.

  24. :

People keep buying me this because of my name – how do I stop them???? This juice is cheap and nasty and smells like burnt apple skin and hotel soap. It is also impossible to scrub. I’ve been using one of my many bottles as bathroom freshener, but it’s almost too yuck for that job.

***whispers*** I’m sorry, I know this is somewhat of a popular fragrance, but I do not like this*** Well I seem to be on the negative train lately, so let’s keep this thing rollin’. But I am not going to post a review just saying “I don’t like this”. I am going to explain why, and how this smells to me, etc. To me, this smells fruity. Very fruity. Not apple, but like a fruity body mist. But then I also detect a slight synthetic cloying 80’s drugstore fragrance, the kind they always had en masse around holiday time. I don’t think I am going to hang onto this one until Summer (as this has been voted as being a Summer frag), because I can’t imagine my skin amping up this scent with the heat and humidity. Just not for me. BUT….at least I explained why, and how this smells to me/for me/on me.

I love the light apple scent, with the citrus lingering in the background, noticable, yet not overpowering the fragrance. I wish that this was available as an edp. I love the scent, and it has very good longevity for an edt, but edt’s don’t usually last very long on me, either on skin or clothes unfortunately. The fragrance itself is amazing. I would love to be able to purchase this perfume in an edp or stonger edt version. The little apple bottle is adorably cute too, and appropriate based on apple being the strongest note for me in the scent. The little apple shape makes me smile just looking at it.

I bought a 10 ml refillable perfume spray bottle at the perfume counter and the gal filled it with Nina. I immediately went out and bought a 50 ml bottle.
This is a magical concoction that was my signature fragrance for a couple of summers and the bottle is a beautiful ornament. I will repurchase the first chance I get. Delightful.

Nina is the perfume I would take on an imaginary trip to Paris. On an actual trip, I would take a perfume more
suited to the energetic expenditure required of travel. When I am balancing the enchanting strangeness of a foreign
culture with the mundane tasks of arranging for lodgings, transportation, keeping track of my belongings and my time,
I would want a more solid heeled fragrant companion, one such as Terre d’Hermes or Interlude Man. Admittedly, these friends would lend two completely different experiences, but both share a grounded, substantial nature well suited to the exertion of navigating unfamiliar terrain.
Nina, on the other hand has no elements that touch reality. The bottle design lends itself to this impression as well, a transparent light red apple with a delightfully unrealistic silver sculpture of stem and leaf. This is not the sinister apple of Dior Poison or the campy fruit of the Lolitas, but rather a fairytale princess rendition to compliment a lovely reverie. Upon first spritz, I immediately get the image of walking through a bubble, shimmering, rainbow hues glinting off it’s surface, into a world impossible but arresting. It’s a world in which I wouldn’t want to live, but am gratified to visit from time to time. Nina’s airy fruits, ethereal flowers and wood vapors, stretch the imagination; she offers the kind of olfactory celebration that a 50s musical supplies to the visual and auditory senses. In the Paris of my invention, it is a village set in “Singing in the Rain”, highly stylized and meant to soothe the watcher’s hard bitten life, post World War II.
The surroundings are artificial and glossy, but an incontrovertible treat for the eyes. As such, this Paris and Nina offer respite and a muscular hope for the human constant reach for the fantastic, the incredible…those elements essential for the art of beauty.

I too got the opportunity to try this at an airport as well as the EDT version which I cannot find listed on Fragrantica. They were about 95% the same exact thing scent-wise, except that the EDT was about 15-20% lighter in power, about 50% lighter in sillage and airier and disappeared faster too. 7 hours later, this one, the EDP, is still going strong (though lighter) but the EDT arm feels like there’s nothing there, maybe a hint of musky sweetness.
Anyway, WOW, this smells like liquid candy! But don’t think like a green apple Jolly Rancher you can buy from the drug store. This is more of an organic, ‘hand-made in small batches with only all natural ingredients’ candy. Like candy that has been made for Marie Antoinette. This is as fancy and sophisticated that “flavored sugar” can get.
If I had to compare it to other candy perfumes like Prada Candy, V&R Bonbon, Lancome LVEB etc, I think this one would be a bit shriekier (but not in a bad way) at least in the opening (mellows out in 20-30 minutes in 70 degree weather.) But I feel like this is way more nuanced too. Whereas with Bonbon, for example, I mainly get peach flavored caramel candy, with Nina it’s more of a colorful candy shop where the scent morphs as you walk around browsing all the sweets.
I’ll be honest, my 1st thought was ‘The coolest 13 year old in middle school would rock this,’ (and the 11 year old sister can rock the EDT) but I do think those of us who have a thing for gourmands and candy inspired perfume could rock this with pride too, there really is a sophisticated and adult quality to this that reminds me of Prada Candy Florale, I don’t have the vocabulary to express why. But anyway like I said, the EDT is also an option, especially if you have to live or work around people who just don’t get it when it comes to perfume that isn’t Chanel #5 or similarly popular enough that ‘A lot of people like it, so…’ can manage to shut them up and admit they are out of their element.
Also, the song ‘Candy Shop’ by rapper 50 Cent got stuck in my head while writing this. The song really fits the scent.

I think I tried Nina when it was new and wasn’t too impressed. Then it vanished from most stores here and I finally tried it again at the airport, over 10 years later.
I’m still not impressed, but it’s nice. I smell apple and citrus notes with some creamy warmth, also light woody notes. Praline doesn’t really come through on my skin.
It’s a fruity scent that balances fresh and sweet nicely.
The drydown is a bit more gourmandy sweet and woody with hints of apple. The clean creamyness sometimes becomes a bit shampoo-ish. Might be the combo of white musk, peony and green apple which are all notes that can go in a shower/laundry product direction for my nose.
It’s a perfectly safe everyday scent, just not my thing. Maybe I would have liked a little more praline in the drydown and less clean freshness.

I first got this as a gift from my dad about 10 years ago. And it stuck to me ever since. Has been my signature for almost 3 years until I got bored, but I still always have a back up bottle in my dresser. Just because I really do crave it occasionally.
I don’t get any citrus whatsoever. On me it is pure sweet red apple, apple blossom and praline. Nothing else sticks out, well maybe the sweet datura a little bit.
This is young, but not juvenile or teen. Sweet and confident, a little spicy. I would say even quirky. A very warm, sweet and fun. Like apple punch. For me definitely a fall/winter day time fragrance. Lovely!

  33. :

    5 out of 5

At first it was more as elegant woman who knows what she want, but not in aggressive way (well mostly). But soon it became more as young woman even teen perfume. This still is daring perfume for outgoing girl. There is some interesting sweet spiciness. Quite synthetic, but good quality. Color of this scent is as bottle – transparent red that blends to pink and cool silver. It’s rather cool than warm. It’s romantic, watery, delicious. Apple, peony, sugary and in background citrus, cedar, fruits, musk and bit floral.
I never really cared for Twilight movies and I’m not sure what scents I associate with it, but for me seems that some teenager girl who loves these movies would be happy about this perfume. Vampires and luna are cool, blood red and bit spicy. There is simple and young woman, she must be strong, she tries to be more than possible, more than she is. All that is enveloped in lots of romantic sweetness. Even apple theme goes with fairy tale, fantasy.

  34. :

This is delicious! My mum has the body lotion and it’s is heavenly… stronger lemony opening than the edp. I love the edp also.. sweet, citrus gourmand. Gorgeous

  35. :

    3 out of 5

Lime is the first note that hits your nose, then green apple comes in and in just a blink of an eye the freshness of the citrusy opening turns into gourmand sweetness, but the apple note remains – this time caramelized apple.
Youthfull scent, could be worn by teenagers, but there is something in it that makes it perfectly appropriate for more mature women who are young at heart and dare to use such joyfull, not so sophisticated perfumes.
I personally like it a lot, it picks me up in gray, cloudy spring days like today.
    Longevity is not impressive, though.

  36. :

On me not so sweet as many others reviewed, which is good. If I get it as a present, I would use it, but never buy it. I find it just too ordinary.

  37. :

Okay this is a bit of a weird one for me. I went out to look for a Spring perfume today after doing a bit of research and Nina was on my list. I sprayed it on tester paper and the overwhelming smell that came to me was, I kid you not, burnt toast. I got rid of the tester paper so I have no idea what happens in the dry-down because to be honest, I always go with my instincts and I felt that Nina was a no-no.
I ended up with Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream which is lovely.

Just tested this today in store out of curiosity, I adored the original Nina and wore it throughout the 80s, this reformulation of it makes me feel sad, it smells like so many others that are around at the moment, original Nina was beautiful and unique, even the bottle was stunning. Not impressed by this at all I’m afraid. Smells like Police to be Woman 🙁

    Scents like no other….love it..kinda spicy..which is a good thing..fresh..sweet…lil bit floral….its perfect

  40. :

    5 out of 5

Ok, I am not sure if i got a fake fragrance or if it’s just my nose, but i do not smell any citrus at all. To me it is a very sweet fruity smell with a tiny-bitsy hint of apples (and not the green apples, but more apple pie-ish smell) and a touch of fir/evergreen ,especially in the beginning. It is a lovely smell (and this comes from a person who does not like super sweet smells), but I would not call it fresh or airy.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

A lovely and freshly-sweet scent which could be almost too girly, but luckily the apple is not too sweet but crispy which comes together with the fresh lime and posh peony, giving a more edgy tone of the sweetness. I feel Spring, vivid sunshine and energy while wearing it.

I’ve been using this perfume for about 10 years now and i keep buying it every time i run out of it, love this perfume and i think this lovely apple bottle with be always in my collection, usually i prefer it in spring even though i read in some reviews that is more for autumn or winter, anyway i’d recommend it to everyone that wants to use a perfume that makes you happy since in the morning

  43. :

    5 out of 5

Well… This gragrance is nice, that’s for sure. I’d even say it is lovely. But it is not what I expected at all. If, like me, you think that Pink sugar by Aquolina is a real in-your-face gourmand, you won’t think Nina is a gourmand. To my nose, it is more flowery/citrusy than real gourmand. I do smell the red apple, but no caramel and vanilla for me at all. Maybe it is a more mature gourmand? It is very pleasant though, fresh and strong at the same time. Sillage and longevity are incredible, you need to go slow on this juice. I used 2 spritz of it this morning and I have the feeling that everybody on my office floor can smell me. lol It is fun, flirty, in a more adult way, but, as I said, don’t be fooled by the bottle and the notes, no candied apples there at all.

    Sweet, fresh and airy.
    Creamy
There’s a familiar scent in there and I can’t put my finger in it…
    Good longevity for an edt
    EDIT
thinking about this fragrance, I feel a more discriptive point might be that if you can imagine a custard- that type of creamy, but instead of a solid vanilla one, imagine apple in there as well.
The freshness is not of the crisp rest or green type, when I said airy, it’s not like an air aquatic marine scent, it’s just not chunky so to speak.
    It is so smooth.
There are a lot of scents of this type, if you don’t have any then this is great.

This was the first perfume I ever bought. I don’t like it anymore, I guess because my palate has changed, but it is a nice scent if you like fruityness and citrus. It is pretty simple to me and I have trouble distinguishing the notes when smelling it. I can only describe it as fresh, citrusy and fruity. Pretty much like the juice of a sweet apple.

  49. :

Nina is one of my all-time favourite perfumes. I’ve loved it since I was a teenager, but never owned a bottle until last year when I received it as a gift from my mum. A gift set, actually, with a 50mL bottle, a rollerball, and a cute little pink two-tone apple-shaped purse.
It strikes a perfect balance between citrus, sweet, and floral. The citrus is never too sharp, the sweet is natural and never cloying, and the floral isn’t overpowering. Nina is lighthearted, perfect during the daytime no matter the season. So fresh and green, I always want to be outdoors when I wear this. It’s very feminine, which I love, without reeking of that cheap, sweet/plastic note that appears in so many fragrances aimed at young women.
Even if the scent isn’t your cup of tea, the bottle itself is just too cute. It’s definitely one I’ll be keeping long after the juice is gone.

I find it weird that most people scent it like praline and warm sugar while being sophisticated. For me, it smells like peony and citrus, I think I don’t like it. The scent is not strong either.

Nina is sophisticated fragrance for sweet sixteen or young clients. Anyone who represents confidence and charm.
Best during Autumn going to Winter. But for me it is not a winter scent. Monotonous during Spring. Too much for Summer.
However, when I went for swimming at the Beach last 2016 summer vacation. I thought I was the only one able to smell Nina during swimming. I was wrong. My relatives were able to smell something quite unusual and asked me about it. I will never forget their facial expression (of curiosity and thinking) during that time because it is something I did not expect since I have been swimming (soak) in a salty water for about an hour. And Nina was still on my skin especially at the back of my ears. On that moment I had received a lot of compliments. hehehehe
    I like it.

Nina’s like a bite of a sweet & sour apple that juices in your mouth. Can be worn at all times, mid season preferably. Moderate sillage and longevity, which you can prolongate if you apply a bit over your clothes.
The musky and ambery notes are very discreet but warm enough to hold the freshness of apples. It is sensual, but not vulgar, like a young lady who knows what she wants…

Even if I don’t like most of Nina Ricci perfumes (don’t ask me why) This one was very different. I found it very elegant and warm. I don’t agree with most of the reviewers who said that it is a fragrance for young and teenagers it was actually my mother’s perfume and it smelled so soft on her ♥

True to description, Nina is super gourmand.. with fresh peonies and citrus fruits. It smells absolutely delicious, like candy, but I wouldn’t want to be characterized by this fragrance.
I wore this for 3 years in my late teens and it worked very well for me at that age.
This is a wonderful perfume for a younger, innocent, and playful woman. Think of a girl who grew up on the family ranch.
Now in my early 20’s, I went back for a sniff of this and it just doesn’t sit with me anymore. I look for perfumes with more depth and warmer tones, especially moving into Fall and Winter.

OK, this is just plain apple and praline to me. Since I don’t like praline note in perfumes, I don’t like this one. But if you like these types of sweet floral fruity gourmand fragrances (like la vie est belle or viva la juicy), go for it!

NINA is a cozy and sweet scent that reminds me of a mug of hot apple cider. The sweetness isn’t candy-like or excessive. NINA is nice on a chilly day and goes well with corduroy jeans and long-sleeved tee shirts in brushed fabrics. I find there’s not much change in the fragrance from start to finish. On me, sillage is on the soft side and it steps down to a skin-scent within a couple of hours, but it lingers for a long time. Spraying generously gives me a slightly stronger sillage at the beginning, but it still turns into a skin-scent just as quickly. It also quickly fades to very soft when I spray it on my clothing. Some reviewers like the bottle and some don’t, but I think it’s cute. NINA doesn’t knock my socks off, but I wear it at times when I want to keep my socks on!

Delicious candy apple is what I’m detecting!!!! I don’t feel any of the floral notes which is not a bad thing. I decided to wear something to take away the rainy blues I’m feeling today and this worked out perfectly.
Longevity on me is 6 hours so far and still going strong. I sprayed at 5pm this afternoon. So I would say longevity is pretty good.
Sillage is decent as well as I can smell it on myself and it smells DELICIOUS!!!
Update—- longevity is 12 hrs on me!

I think the bottle looks cheap, but the fragrance is pleasantly complex for a modern fruity gourmand. Rather than smelling like candy, like so many new fragrances do, Nina smells like your kitchen after you’ve baked an apple pie. The sweetness is tempered by a little caramelization. The spices aren’t quite there, but you can almost smell the butter in the crust.
I’m nearing 40 and was comfortable wearing Nina for a time, but it’s starting to feel too girlish to me so I might just hand it down to my daughter. It’s no longer for me, but it’ll still be in the family.

Judging first the girly red apple shaped bottle I was expecting this scent to be all sugar, no sass, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, there’s a fruity apple citrus vibe to begin with, but what was unexpected and I really like is the deep earthy musk that keeps the fragrance earthed. It’s a fun bottle with a grown up scent, a workerday favourite and a keeper for me.

i used this perfume all the time when it was released. every time i wanted an uplifting scent i went to Nina. its fresh and feminine. not the typical apple scent you get from body splashes. no, nina is more profound and delicious. when i wear this i get compliments from girls and women alike. i still go back and repurchase. it lasts from 4 to 6 hours on skin and 24+ hours on clothes. strange thing is this perfume doesn’t develop and changes much after spraying. but i liked it this way.

My experience with apple based fragrances so far hasn’t been too optimistic – mostly they seem “too fresh”, to a point when all I can think of when I smell them is an apple air freshener or apple dish soap. Not with Nina! The apple note in this fragrance is really tastefully done – it’s strong enough that you can certainly detect it, but gentle enough to let the other notes show – the sweet flower note, the citrus and also the musky base. It is gentle, sweet and really beautiful.
