Description

Guerlain launches its new fragrance in 2015, which you can name yourself. Guerlain Mon Exclusif, as it is called in the absence of a real name, leaves room for creativity of its customers (as well as for confusion).

The composition of the fragrance, created by Thierry Wasser, is described as a gourmand Jicky (Guerlain fragrance from 1889), with fougere accords of fresh fern, oriental notes, lavender, soft sandalwood, caramel, salted butter, coumarin and vanilla.

The fragrance arrives in a redesigned Coque d’Or bottle. You get a set of metal letters in the box, which help you to give your own name to the perfume, or you can have the name engraved. It is available at a price of 130 Euros (Eau de Parfum concentration).

This smells like a good idea. Candied chypres are an easy sell these days, and the popularity of flowerbomb and la vie est belle is still staggering.
Guerlain’s version comes in a similar pink shade, though is more interesting, refined and textured like a leather glove. The honey, butter, lavender I get in here in here is pretty strong and the smell reminds me of dressing up in nylons to go to a fancy party. The ambery, sweet, powdery lavender scent trailing from my velvet dress.
The strong lavender/honey/butter I get could be polarizing (although I do love it!). However, it’s drowned in equal parts in a perfectly likeable pink potion of candied woods, vanilla, and flowers that smell like many popular modern perfumes. The scent is interesting, easy, and I would love to have a bottle.

Holy wow! Not a huge gourmand wearer on its own except for bed and gym, but do love them for layering. I did get Mon Guerlain when it came out for myself and stepdaughters in their early 20s….it was was like a watered down version of this. The reviews were spot on. I was tempted to buy for $180 on the Bay, but thought MG would fill that desire for me after reading reviews here and thought, at least get a glimpse (curse you guys and gals for that, says my wallet). Then the heaven’s gates opened and all the remaining stock is released.
I got this along with Clinique Aromatics Elixir. My husband said, every two years you splurge and I do too (he golfs and got customized clubs this year.). So I’m on a splurge right now. I picked AE because it was recommended as a similar scent as Aveda’s Shampure, which, BTW, completely sucks as for strength, longevity, and depth. (This is relavent BTW).
So I spray ME directly in the crook of my left arm, and the first few minutes thought, very similar to MG. Then, it was like diving into warmth and depth. Should have stopped but noooo, I sprayed, directly on my skin on my right arm, AE. I couldn’t believe it…it smelled just like Mitsouko reacts on me…I was sad. I wanted that love affair most others had. Instead, if it was the same, I got the joy of smelling like spiced dirt for what I predicted to be around 4 hrs. I checked 30 minutes later and wait, AE was warming.
MG had this amazing lavender deep vanilla and I thought, let me walk my left arm through and wow. MG was already a star on itself, but AE misted….screw Aveda’s weak and overpriced Shampure oil…these two together are amazing! I misted my right hand with AE and yep, I got the sweet spice. I’ll go in depth on that later…on her page. AE deserves its praise when used correctly.
I just bought two more bottles of ME after first 3 hrs for backup and may get more of this. The dry down is spectacular. I can’t wait to wear this alone and layered. I’m sad that Guerlain has blamed this juice for poor marketing. Why couldn’t they just dupe this and rename it? IFRA is no excuse as this is recent.
I recommend taking advantage of picking this up while it is around $80 right now.

I have a sample of Mon. It’s a heavy, cold weather night scent on me. I smell vanilla heavily, then powder and hints of orange and coumarin.

Personally I find this fragrance to be quite tame and very unique.
As someone who blind buys everything (I live in the middle of nowhere) and who has also never tried Mon Guerlain, I was expecting this to be a thick, gooey toffee with supporting notes, but I find it to be the exact opposite.
On myself, Mon Exclusif starts off with a cascade of almost spicy lavender and a very ‘flat’, muted almond – still sweet, but not sugared in the slightest.
It is just after this point that Mon Exclusif shows its true colours, and it is a symphony of colour.
I’m not sure about other people, but to me, this fragrance is temperamental.
Sometimes it is a sweet, powdered gourmand with floral nuances – sometimes it’s a modern fougere with subtle tones of a delicate sweetness.
The longevity and sillage are both pretty disappointing, sitting at a very tamed moderate for both, but I’m the type of guy who craves the loudness of something like Muglers A*Men.
Refined, inviting and certainly unique – this gets a 7/10 from me 🙂

This is such a lovely fragrance. It is very interesting with the notes of lavender, toffee, almond etc. It is a sweet and foody scent that is also very warming and comforting.
This was a limited edition scent that I don’t think they make or sell anymore. HOWEVER, it is the exact same notes and fragrance as the new (and cheaper) Mon Guerlain. In fact I did a comparison of the two on my YouTube channel. They are identical. So if you can’t track this one down you can get Mon Guerlain.

I always wondered about the difference between this and Mon Guerlain(my fav perfume) and now I know. Many have said they are exactly alike, but I can smell slight differences that I think, may make Exclusif my new fav. It is going to take more time to get fully acquainted with ME, but I immediately felt the love I felt of MG upon first spray.
Compared to MG, this is similar to MG, but there are differences. Vanilla is the key note and there’s buttery toffee fused with tonka making it more rounded and sweet. Lavender is there, but this isn’t as spicy as MG. ME is sweeter, truly a vanilla scent and balanced by the light lavender making this a gorgeous scent that makes you crave more.

I said this of Mon Guerlain “Here’s what Mon Guerlain reminds me of… sitting in an outdoor cafe eating lavender cookies while sipping Earl Grey then somebody next to me opens a pouch of pipe tobacco (not smoking). I love it.”
I love Mon Exclusif more. It adds more of the cookie.. more buttery.. more rich vanilla which balances the lavender just a touch more.
They are so similar, yet I’d choose Mon Exclusif every day. I’m debating buying another bottle. I thought I’d be as happy with Mon Guerlain, but Mon Exclusif is “The One” for me. I think I’d miss it when my bottle is empty.

    My “Mon Guerlain” Loves….
I first fell in love with Mon Guerlain Florale.
Then I bought Mon Guerlain and fell in love with that.
And now I bought Mon Guerlain Exclusif which turns out to be my favorite.
I find all of them gorgeous.
All of these beauties are fantastic compositions that are so easy to wear and you simply smell divine.

I love Mon Guerlain so much. It started as an error-my husband gifted it to me, misremembering the name of the perfume I really wanted. It became such a beautiful mistake. My bottle is half gone in just a few months.
Of course, reading all the reviews and knowing the history, I had to try Mon Exclusif. Many people have said there are differences between them so I wanted to meet the mother of my love.
I did, and I must say, some have better noses than I do! For me, the two fragrances are identical. Today, my right arm was sprayed with Mon Exclusif and my left was Mon Guerlain. I took little perfume hits all day, but never detected differences. All I can say is the Mon Exclusif lasted longer, but I also may have been more heavy-handed with the spray.
I don’t mind that to me they are identical, because I now have my beloved Mon Guerlain in a pretty, silver-lined bow bottle. I certainly was going to have to purchase it again within a few months anyway, and while the quatrefoil bottle is lovely, I can enjoy a different bottle on my shelf. (The bow bottle is spoiled only by the plastic cap. And the silly stickers, maybe I can use them in scrapbooking.)
I won’t touch on the notes much because I reviewed Mon Guerlain and so have many others I agree with those who love it-it’s a lovely and interesting lavender gourmand, one of those that is sensitive to each person’s skin.
Loving Mon Guerlain as I do, I just bought the flanker, Mon Guerlain Florale, and should receive it next week. We shall see if my adoration continues. Such a surprise as I’ve never before been a gourmand lover. I have always been a flower lover, so the new flanker should be special to me.
Certainly, if you love Mon Guerlain and want more, buy Mon Exclusif for the same juice in a different bottle. If you are a collector, I think it’s worth having both. And maybe you are one who can tell the difference between the juices and get a different level of love for it than I do. That would be a plus for any Mon Guerlain lover. It is beautiful work of perfumery. . Guerlain is by far my favorite perfume House (at least until I get into a Dior or Hermes masterpiece…:) )

This was on my want list for ages and I was hesitating as most of you know, Mon Guerlain is really Mon Exclusif repackaged, with maybe very subtle differences.
At first spray, I feel it is very different from MG. I can’t pinpoint quite what the difference is though. Maybe the citrus notes are a bit more present in those first few minutes. And then, after those first few minutes, a subtle warm buttery toffee, or salted caramel, sweetness arises that I don’t get in MG, but underneath that, MG is recognizable.
As time goes by, it becomes much more similar to MG. After a few hours, I get the same to die for sweet vanilla frosting dry down as MG.
The differences are indeed subtle but overall, I find ME to be a bit less intense than MG, and as a bonus, it has that gorgeous hint of warm toffee throughout. And I agree with what others have said, that MG is slightly fresher, cooler, and a bit more powdery. I feel a bit self-conscious wearing MG but that’s not the case at all with ME.
To be honest, all this could potentially just be power of suggestion, but either way, I’ll take it! Love Mon Exclusif!

I own both Mon exclusif and Mon Guerlain, and wearing them for a while now I can list quite a few differences.
First of all, I am huge Guerlain fan, I would like to own almost all of their exclusive line fragrances, but so far Mon exclusif is the only one I invested in, and also started to collect back up bottles .
I adore this fragrance and it is closest to what I can call Signature at the moment.
It is warm, cozy, perfectly blended gourmand. Sweet but with the right measure, the lavender is balanced with warm caramel, vanilla and gorgeous milky musk. The almond, butter, musk and sunny notes, whatever they might be, are really the ingredients that make this perfume so silky and stunning.
Yes, that is what I love the most: it is musky and smells like bear skin of a young woman enchanted by the sweet subtle lavender.
    Gorgeous.
When Mon Guerlain came out I rushed like crazy to buy more affordable version of the frag I adore.
However, the first smell was a huge disappointment. There are two versions at the moment in Europe of MonG : one is cold lilac colour with super strong lavender, completely unbalanced with heavy dose of sour citrus. Sugar is screaming together with the lemons and herbs, and it was all in all a turn off.
Later I found different, better version of MG: colour of the juice is more pink, and tonka bean and vanilla are much more prominent. The citrus and sweetness are better here, definitely softer. Still, compared to Mon exclusif it is not that well balanced at all, it screams sweet or sour at moments, it doesn’t blend so well with the skin, and it doesn’t give the cozy, warm, signature feel where nothing jumps just adds to the beauty of the natural feminine skin scent.
I bought the pink version of MG, used it during spring and cold dutch summer, am about to finish the small bottle, and I don’t believe I will ever repurchase it again.
I would rather invest in another bottle of Mon exclusif since it is perhaps 1,5 to 2 times the price, but it is worth every penny.

Much has been made of how similar Mon Guerlain is to Mon Exclusif and yes, they are very similar scents.
Mon Exclusif has a more gourmand presence; it’s sweeter with clear notes of butter, caramel, and almond. Mon Guerlain is cleaner and colder, with a more prominent powder note.
However, there is so much the same that many people would be unable to tell them apart unless they smelled them side by side. Both are centered in the traditional Guerlainade: Bergamot, Iris, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Tonka, Vanilla. Mon Exclusif adds some additional sweet, more gourmand notes.
I like both, but I can’t see a reason to own both unless you are a collector. If I could only buy one, it would be Mon Guerlain because it’s a bit simpler, cleaner and maybe a bit more wearable. If you’re a gourmand fan, I can see you easily going toward Mon Exclusif.

Grab this while you can!!!! It’s on eBay and Amazon for around 124.00 USD for a 1.6 oz nice going Guerlain…. thanks for discontinuing another scent i just happen to really enjoy
Anyway, I’m really happy I grabbed this gem!,it’s gorgeous! It smells like sweets and lavender, like sweet bread or buttery vanilla cake with lavender baked inside

Mmmm this is so good. I’ve been waiting for a creamy, feminine rendition of lavender and this hits the spot. My favorite body moisturizer is J&J’s baby ‘bedtime’ lotion, that soft lavender-vanilla aroma is so soothing and addictive. Well, this does not smell like that, but it has the same effect on me. I’m so happy I can detect the lavender in this. The ‘butter’ adds an interesting dimension. Mon Exclusif has sweet gourmand notes, feminine florals, and a slightly ‘lipstick-y’ vibe. It’s soft, buttery, sweet but mild. Smooth and rounded. A high quality composition that has its own unique charms. I wouldn’t expect any less from this house. Sillage/longevity are both great, no need for touch-ups. The price is insane though! I mean it smells amazing, but it’s not worth the market price. I’ll still get it though, especially if rumors of its discontinuation is true. I hope this fragrance will start a new trend (sweet, feminized lavenders and fougeres), that way other houses can follow suit and make more affordable versions.
Btw, I have tried the new Mon Guerlain as well, and this one is so much more beautiful and layered.

Fermina Daza’s review is shockingly very accurate. Perfect description! I have nothing to add to it but do want to concur. This really is Jimmy Choo meets lavender oil! It’s not unpleasant but it’s mainstream and common. Smell Jimmy Choo, imagine adding lavender to it and there you have Mon Exclusif. No doubt it’s a nice gourmand even if not groundbreaking. I like Jimmy Choo with lavender, lol. I might consider buying at a low price point. Never at $180 though.

If you are a big fan of it, hurry up because this has been discontinued….why?because of the new collaboration between Angelina Jolie and & Guerlain ..the new perfume promise to replace this one in a better and a little different composition…I doubt sincerely but we’ll see…maybe we will be surprised (I wish..because is already a shame that this one will not be produced anymore )

I had high expectations from this being a Guerlain. boring as usual lately by this once great house. Now it’s coming out as Mon Guerlain, so it has been discontinued (it never sold well) and being relaunched as Mon Guerlain, What next? An Aqua Allegoria discontinued turned into another expensive fragrance? They are mocking us!!!

A beautiful, elegant, whimsy, romantic formulation of an exquisite scent/fragrance. Guerlain does it again! It never amazes me that Guerlain can orchestrate such master pieces time and time again. I am never let down. The originality, and sophistication is exceptional. This lil beauty is mysterious from the start. It plays out with an Aria of magical notes. It’s not over sweet, it’s subtle, and warm, yet relaxing. The dry down is my favorite. It’s soft, intriguing, and playful. It’s a very intriguing scent. It’s fascinating, I find myself constantly smelling myself. I’m in constant awe with the complexity of this fragrance, and that every minute I wear it, I find it exciting. I find it feminine, and so romantic. The sillage is great. My husband says it’s one of his favorites. The longevity is above average. As for when to wear it, I say anytime. It’s just so lovely, I honestly cant express in every detail how incrediable and etc, this fragrance is. I just love it, and I LOVE GUERLAIN! Xo

Less sweet than expected. This smells more like… some kind of lacquer. Synthetic but nice, guilty pleasure-like. Lacquer, leather, wood, solvent and something floral, like an attractive woman walking through a wood shop, her perfume lingering.
    Intriguing.

I’ve waited a while to review Mon Exclusif because I wasn’t sure I was “getting” it at first. After some time, I’ve concluded that it’s charming, calming, and winsome, but doesn’t have the same oomph that the Guerlain standbys usually have. The extent of the fragrance on my skin is lavender and vanilla caramel. Absolute YUM, but minimal sillage. It’s a soft skin scent that you need to nuzzle up to in order to really take it in. Longevity is fairly good. I obtained a generous sample and won’t part with it at all because of its “exclusivity,” but I’d hardly buy a full bottle based on the extravagant price for such a tame scent. I may actually let my young daughter use some of this from time to time, as it’s delicate and innocent. I think the scent would do better in the same cute bow bottle, dropped in price, and marketed as a fragrance for young girls. I wear it occasionally in the evenings as a wind-down scent. Lovely, but not a must-have for my collection at the price.
Update: Now that it’s discontinued I did buy it because it was on sale. Fortunately the spray has much more sillage than my dab sample. I will treasure the bottle always!

This is Gorgeous!!! My new favorite “lipstick” scent. I love Parfum Initial and PI Sensuelle, and also Lipstick On. But I love this more!!! Some lipstick scents are only for a certain mood, whereas this could be an everyday signature. Sweet and powdery, a bit of the play-do, but alluring and soooo good. Moving up to top 5 favs! Not sure where to get a bottle though…!

Obtaining a sample of this wasn’t an easy task, yet I’m very glad to add a few drops of this sweetness to my collection.
I spent a rather long time imagining what this perfume will smell like, and was pretty spot on –
Yes, it’s lovely and very much Guerlain. Yes, it does smell like an Exclusif. Yes, it’s both yummy and herbal.
Yes, I’m very glad to own a sample but will not go FB in the near future.
This has somewhat the same vibe as Serge Lutens’ Gris Claire – medicinal lavender mixed with delicious sweetness. In Gris Claire you get tonka, here you get toffee that ends up smelling a bit like sweetened cereals. The scent itself has some complexity to it, yet on my skin it is rather linear once it settles down after the opening.
Herbal sweetness is a note that can get you hooked, yet this is gentle, unoffending and even a bit simplistic at the end of the day, comes the dry down.
It’s all goodness and delicate gourmandise and I love it. I will be more than delighted to revisit this perfume occasionally, but for the time being will not buy a FB (both too expensive and truly problematic for me to actually get one delivered all the way down here).
    Enjoy, fellows Guerlainophiles!

I actually love this fragrance; possibly mainly because of the exclusivity.
My best friend couldn’t figure out what smelt so horrible the other day until I suggested my perfume. She sniffed it and said I smelt like a rubbish bin… and continued to for the evening!

This is simply gorgeous – a gourmand fougere… seriously. For the mind, it is a very interesting fragrance. I can see how this could easily be brushed off.
I have been toying with the idea of buying Mon Parfum by M Micallef for a few years now. I may be changing course for the time being, this is an interesting fragrance. Time will tell 😉

Mon Exclusif – in passing this fragrance might be too quickly dismissed and in part probably due its campaign. Which makes me a little bit sad because this fragrance is just heavenly. Setting that naming the fragrance yourself idea aside this nameless nugget offers a curious mix of notes that are exceptionally blended to create a certainly unique fragrance experience.
Yurpdod your review is spot on, the dry down is the most enchanting part of this fragrance. Though the more that I wear Mon Exclusif the more I fall in love with it from beginning to end. The buttery and solar notes deliver an atmospheric halo of warmth and I love the touch of masculinity. Though similar in notes with other fragrances it is defiantly unique, I own nothing like it in my perfume wardrobe.
Sillage is arm’s length, this fragrance does really well on my skin it really last past 8hrs. I am really happy to have it in my collection.

I was passing by and got the blotter fan sprayed with this perfume.
It is sweet, buttery caramel with lavender which makes it smell a bit more masculine. I wish I detected more saltiness but unfortunaley no. I can imagine men wearing it too. I don’t think it is delicious, it is not edible in my opinion. Thankfully it’s not cloying, not as heavy and the lavender really keeps it from beingn just another caramel.
I should mention that I dont love it but Im drawn to it, I will try it again in colder months and on my boyfriend for sure.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

One thing to know about Mon Exclusif is that all of the unique, interesting notes in this composition show up during the drydown. At the onset all you can perceive is almond and heliotrope which is pretty but very simple and generic. I was ready to write off Mon Exclusif until the fragrance developed and really showed its true self. After settling on the skin for a while, you can pick up the gourmand motifs of vanilla, toffee, and salted butter. The butter note is not super literal and it perfectly harmonizes with the solar accord to create an effect that smells toasty warm yet also rich and sumptuous.
I really love the way lavender is used in Mon Exclusif. It provides classical aromatic fougere tones to a note pyramid that could skew heavily gourmand-floral. The fern note also provides a fresh green sheen to the florals.
This composition is masterful and skillfully done — the fragrance has an open, airy quality to it, in spite of the heaviness of all of the individual notes. It blooms on skin, and has distinct phases of development. The sillage is moderate but long-lasting. The bottle is insanely cute too. Mon Exclusif is an exquisite fragrance.

A fun note regarding my perfume journey, I got an unlabeled decant of this and knew right away it was a Guerlain, and also figured it had to be this particular one. To my surprise I was right! Kind of cool as my nose grows accustomed to more scents, I can start to pick out familiarities – like Guerlainade. This one’s got it right off the bat, that familiar warmed powderiness…
It’s lightly sweetened, I didn’t find it cloying or mega sugary, just a dusting of powdered sweet. It’s also a touch fruity and floral and creamy. There’s lots of very soft and faint powder that seems to lighten the whole thing, I don’t find it a heavy frag (like LPRN for instance). It sort of reminded me of My Insolence, but much softer and fluffier due to its airiness. It didn’t last very long for me though, only about 3 hours on my skin.

Such a lovely sweet scent. Lavender is very prominent throughout. I just feel there isn’t much going on here. Almost like it’s missing something. I hope I have a better appreciation for this in future because I have tested this scent several times and feel the same way.

This is the female version of the new Ideal Homme Cologne. The things that attracted me to that fragrance for men, also seem to work well in this! I know it’s gourmand but that isn’t all… there’s proper well-blended warmth and a touch of spice that brings this baby to the top of the class <3

Guerlain have been the masters of gourmands since before gourmands were even a thing, and, well, some things just don’t change. Mon Exclusif is in the same family as most of today’s gourmands, but it is still recognizably a Guerlain. The candy sweet notes (and yes, they’re definitely there) are countered by a soft, powdery vanilla as opposed to the typical patchouli or musk or whatever. I get the salt notes too, but they’re quiet and you won’t find them unless you look for them, but I think they keep this sugary sweet scent interesting. Something in here reminds me of Tonka Imperiale too, I don’t know what it is and common in Guerlain fragrances, but especially pronounced in these two. Maybe it’s a certain combination of notes. It’s kind of like a sugar cookie mixed with a masculine note, which sounds weird but it’s really nice, gives the scent depth. This isn’t a fragrance that makes me go wow!!!! but it is something I would wear a lot because it’s just so damn pleasant. If the price isn’t insane (read: typical Guerlain exclusif prices), I could definitely see myself buying it. Definitely a great perfume regardless, probably my favorite recent Guerlain release after French Kiss!
Edit: Finally figured out which perfume this also reminds me of-Moscow from the Guerlain city collection. This is like a lovechild between that and Tonka Imperiale.
Edit #2: I ended up buying a full bottle and have been wearing it daily. I adore it. One of the best new fragrances out there, and I love the concept of being able to name it yourself! Maybe it’s just a result of the marketing, but this perfume does indeed feel personal. Bravo, Guerlain!

Gourmand Jicky?! I had to try it. Jicky was “my scent” for years (early 2000s). Now after enjoying “ma petit robe noir” I am not too much against something gourmand. Especially since this gourmand does not cause diabetes. 😀 It really is NOT too sweet… And I definitely can detect that sastisfying, umame buttery layer… The decanter arrived tonight, so I am not sure if this is truly only Mon Exclusif, or this morning’s fragrance is being mixed up… So I’ll have to come back and review this again… Anyways. It is so wounderful to be reminded of elegant simplicity of Jicky and opulent satisfying comfort of Guerlinade…

Guerlain seems really into making sweet gourmands these days, but they do them so well! This is a toothache in a bottle. I like it though! Going on my own impressions, at first it reminds me very much of Louve by Serge Lutens because it has that wonderful fruity note in it that smells so much like cherry. This perfume started out smelling like a syrupy-sweet cherry ICEE. I seriously could not smell anything else for the longest time. Eventually I suppose I could smell praline and some vanilla. I know there are supposed to be salty notes and a “solar note” (whatever in the world that means!), but I did not smell anything like that. No butter or saltiness. This stuff is purely sweet. After a couple of hours, I could smell an ethereal note of white flowers weaving in and out. It gave the perfume a bit more dimension and is what made this a “Love” for me, rather than a strong “Like”. Not a cheap gourmand in a world full of gourmands, but I’m sold!

I rarely like a gourmand perfume, but I like this quite a bit. This is a very well-blended Guerlain. Mon is feminine, bright, and sweeeeeet! No sour bits in this one like Shalimar PI. The sweetness of Mon is similar to that of Gourmand Coquin (without chocolate): it’s really sweet and it really projects! For those that shy away from sweet scents, the good news is that Mon’s Jicky backbone makes it easier to wear than Gourmand Coquin. The lavender is just enough to keep the sugar in check, and vanilla, sticky toffee and almond together create this decadent French dessert smell in Mon. A little more lighthearted than Bonbon, and less serious than Candy. Gourmand lovers will adore this one.
Oooh and I forgot to mention the bottle is TOO GORGEOUS! I like the classier look of it over that of Bonbon.

I was on the fence about blind buying this gem as I was concerned about the salty notes and how everything would blend together but the curiosity got the better of me and I bought a bottle, unsniffed.
Herbs, salts, solar, flowers, butter, vanilla and nuts, how could that possibly work? Well, it does! It really does!
Mon Exclusif opens up bright and sweet. It has layers of each individual note so you can easily pick up which note you are smelling. It is like a book, each chapter tells a story. The opening was a little herbal floral. One particular note that was present from start to end was that lovely buttery Vanilla.
This fragrance is delicately sweet, feminine and delectable at the same time. It lingers on and on and is quite breezy. To me, this is what a grown up good quality Vanilla based fragrance would smell like, a buttery vanilla that is lightly surrounded by a delicate arrangement of flowers, with sweet tasting orange and mandarin and salty fresh air to give it balance. It is quite long lasting and silage is heavy, I could smell the scent on me the whole time I was wearing it and so could others. I would wear this fragrance all year round as I think on hot days I feel that the solar and citrus notes would be more pronounced and on colder days, the Vanilla takes centre stage.
I wouldn’t look too much into the notes with this fragrance as you may find them a little odd, I was surprised at what I smelt after looking at the pyramid and thinking I may not like this but my advice, just try it, I think you may fall in love!!

Sampling this. I don’t think it works on my skin, or perhaps I’m anosmic to it, but it is so quiet and close to the skin. It sinks in immediately and then plays hide and seek, peeking out unexpectedly from time to time. Then again someone did compliment me when I had it on… To me this is Guerlain by way of Mugler. Not because of nuclear strength, but I think its the solar note and the lavender that makes it seem very synthetic almost like a dryer sheet at first. Its doesn’t smell like flowers and plants in other words. I’m not used to this synthetic feel from Guerlain. Then it gets soapy; reminding me first of blowing bubbles, then a doll head/almond accord. I don’t get the toffee until the end as a whisper. Its delicate and soft. Interesting performance. I’ll have to spend more time with it to understand it better.
UPDATE: So, I’ve tried this on my skin and on my friends’, and I really like this more and more. I think I may even want a backup just because it performs like nothing else I’ve sniffed or even have in my collection. I understand the comparison to Jicky, even though the 2 smell nothing alike, but the philosophy is there of a fresh, herbal, citrusy, vanilla “smell” that doesn’t have a comparison in nature. The effect on other people’s skin was enchanting. It floats in the air lending an almost imperceptible calming aura around the wearer. I also noticed that less is more and this one really performs on pulse points. It lasts all day.
