I received my bottle today and I am so happy! Finally a high-quality oud perfume! It’s so mature and well-blended, I suppose in winter it will be even more mesmerizing. Just a light spritz is enough to make you smell your wrist over and over again.I’m wearing it for an hour and all I can smell so far is oud and roses and maybe some sandalwood. I hope the other notes soon will reveal their beauty. I made a great bargain og this one, I’m so content I obtained it.

At first it strong.. too strong even, once it cools down, you are in heaven.
could pass as unisex but more suitable for mature ladies 30+ yo or so
Used to be my signature perfume from it first came out until it got discontinued, I have half a bottle that I refuse to use until I find something that I love thats colse enough to it

After spraying it it feels like being slapped by huge oud log in a face. One really needs let this one settle a bit.
The drydown gets mildy with still very significant oud note combined with sweet and delicate rose and spiced by a pinch of tobacco.
To someone it can smell very old ladyish, not gonna blame anyone – there’s a reason for it: it’s extremely strong and definitely not very common these days. I wouldn’t wear this myself, not my taste at all, but I definitely see where the hype comes from. I believe for oud/balsamic fans this must be a true gem.
    Soft, deep, warm, well blended.

Update: A few months ago, I found some bottles (5 to be precise) on…e-Bay? I can’t remember. They do not come in the box, I bought them at almost half the price and believe you me, they are not faux versions. Legitimate to the Nth. As usual, I still smell the perfume on my shirts the following day, and even after they’ve been washed. Can’t be happier!
This sexy beast was originally created for the Middle East market. Luckily, Clarins (which owns and distributes Mugler’s perfumes) made it available in The States (muglerusa.com). I was ( and still am) addicted to it. To my surprise, when I went online to reorder a week ago, I noticed it had been phased out. Luckily, I opened my last bottle a few weeks ago. Regrettably, I’ll have to hold on to the empty bottle (once I use it all up) and mourn forever to what was one of the most devastatingly gorgeous perfumes of all times.

Wow, like the reviewer below me here, I also purchased the two being Miroir de Magestes and Miroir de Voluptes.
The bottles and presentations are gorgeous, the perfume itself of the highest quality
Sadly, only the Magestes is a winner for me, the Voluptes is just too ‘oudy’ for me at this stage of my scent discovery missions! Ha ha. It conjures up thoughts of Oud Fleur by Tom Ford but without the honey’s sweetness so I’m going to ‘revisit’ this perfume next winter, hopefully my nose will slowly come to appreciate oud. I tiny spritz of this has a huge cloud and sillage which is standard from Thierry Mugler in my findings to date.
This was a risky blind buy, as I’m not in love with oud but the slight oud note in the Magestes had me ‘daring’ to go for her big sister in Voluptes.
I’m so glad it’s not a ‘scrubber’ and I have hope for a better appreciation for this beauty for the future. I must admit, the very prominent ‘honey’ note is divine! Best I’ve smelt so far in perfumery. I would also class this perfume as unisex, not just for women.
May I say it’s very well described in most of these other reviews! 🙂
    EDIT (2 hours later)…..
OMG. Now I’m getting this amazing honey scent from my second application. On my left wrist, I get honey, honey, and more honey (which I adore), making it sweet but not gourmand, yet on my right wrist, I get a medicinal and sharp ‘oud’ note and did so from the opening thru to the 3 hour mark.
How odd!! Can it really be?
I’ve only read one other review here in Fragrantica of someone experiencing the same thing, with 2 different scents coming from each wrist, on the same person and from the same bottle of perfume so it’s not my imagination, (my partner agrees) but rather my body’s chemistry at play!
Yet another fantastical and unexpected experience thru the discoveries of the wonderful and diverse world of perfumery!
Day 2 of using Voluptes, this is so much better than my first experience with it yesterday. It has a strong sandalwood note, along with loads of honey and a decent oud note, all mingled together making this very nice indeed. I don’t get the tobacco unfortunately, nor the musk. There’s nothing else like this in my collection so I’m going to enjoy it for its uniqueness.
    Perfume rating.

I ordered both Majesties and Voluptes and can I just say the packaging is to die for?
Both bought blind with fingers crossed and both winners (the Mugler house seems to be a hit for me). While Majesties is a warmer fragrance, Voluptes is cooler in feel but hits the nail on the head with with it’s magical weave of rose and oud
Lastability is incredible with over 12+ hours too

    Mugler Miror Des Voluptes
    EDP 1.7oz
You can always count on this house to produce something stunning.
Voluptes arrives in a beautiful Mirrored box w/a top hinge inscribed Thierry Mugler upon the top. Luxe mirrored wood presentation box to store Voluptes. Mugler gets it. We want gorgeous presentation to go with a luxe fragrance. The silver cap and dagger on one side and golden arabic design on the other side of the 1.7oz bottle. Intriguing.
A soft and silky rose oud fragrance supported by
orange blossom, honey amber, cherry, tobacco leaf, patchouli, sandalwood and musk. Its refined, well blended and perfect. Sometimes this genre can get harsh, sharp and screechy..this is not. Pillowy softness of its contents and IMO a clean modern interpretation of the rose-oud theme. Nothing that screams synthetic or chemical soup as so many modern formulations are. A treasure and a steal at any price you find. I should have bought two.
Love at first sniff, and a new gem in my collection.

I have to concur with others that oud, rose, tobacco, amber, tonka then patch, neroli appear in that order. The amber and tonka add some sweetness although this is not very sweet. They balance the tobacco. Oud really hits you on the opening although Im not a big oud fan this is quite manageable. It really is 1001 Arabian Nights in a bottle. TM hit the nail on the head with the mirror of sensual pleasures. Beautiful and intense.
This is definitely a unisex fragrance but maybe leaning a touch to the feminine.
Its so beautifully blended although Im a little disappointed that doesnt develop much apart from the oud and tobacco being the last notes to wain. Long longevity and moderate sillage. Another TM winner.

This is my dream fragrance…I have just purchased a backup bottle, so as never to be without it. My new signature is Piguets Oud Divin, this is it’s Siamese twin in perfection.

It was a LOVE in the top notes. Sweet oud. Perfectly balanced. But in the dry down, ugh. I blind bought a bottle. I don’t dislike it but it is okay. It became fruity in the middle then turned a bit minty and medicinal almost like Ben Gay on my skin. What a disappointment.

Mirroir des Voluptes is a definite love for me. Truly beautiful. The main players on my skin are oud, rose and tobacco. The other notes play supporting roles, making the oud and rose truly shine! Initially it is a little overwhelming until it starts to dry down.
I wish I had bought 2 bottles while I had the chance. There is no longer any stock where I managed to find it, and quite by accident too as it had been listed under their Lancome stock. Such a pity I left it too late to order a backup bottle.
I have since tested M7 Oud Absolu, Esteel Lauder Wood Mystique and Amber Mystique, have not come across Juliet has a Gun Midnight Oud as yet. They are also beautiful but in totally different ways, definitely not the the same, none have that same absolutely stunning oud that Thierry Mugler’s Miroir des Voluptes has.
I love the way this develops on my skin and transports me far away to some gloriously majestic place, so beautiful! I fear my words are not able to do this perfume justice in a review, I love it too much to think clearly!!
The longevity is amazing, it lasts till my next shower and even afterwards I can notice the faint sweet oud. Silage is also very good but won’t knock anyone out unless you apply heavily.
    I give it a 10/10

Thierry Mugler’s Miroir des Voluptes is a lovely woody, resinous oud with a deep velvety rose and sweet dry tobacco. I had been looking for a fragrance that was not a total oud bomb where I could not smell any of the other notes and to my delight, I have found it! In some rose/patchouli fragrances the patchouli turns sour if the rose is too sharp and the patchouli ends up smelling fecal or dirty, but the patchouli in this smells very fresh! No animalic or offensive musks and the tonka bean behaves on my skin. This fragrance is a win-win for me since it has a slight hippy vibe and makes me want to channel my inner Stevie Nicks!

This one has similar oud + rose pattern of many other clicé oud + rose creations since oud became a trend in perfumery. I have yet to encounter a truely unique rendition of the theme, just similar smelling profile done again and again by different houses and different perfumers.
So there is nothing ground-breakingly new here. However, what make this fragrance so enjoyable to me are the adding of the orange flower note, the overdose of honey and the lightness in treatment of the whole fragrance (the same lightness that apply to many fragrances in the Miroir Miroir collection).
This one still has all the signature of a Middle East inspired oud fragrance, the rose, the smoke, etc but it is much cleaner, more polite & proper to the point of being quite pretty which I don’t see in other creations of this theme.

My first surprise was the packaging, a beautiful mirrored case holding the bottle I couldn’t wait to get my hands on! My second surprise was not that was made by Mugler as this has Mugler stamped all over it, but the actual beauty in the scent. I never smelt anything quite like this. The initial blast I thought ohhh strong am I gonna like this? I gave it a few mins and the most incredibly addictive smell filled my nostrils! I got the oud, patchouli, rose and vanilla? (must be the Tonka bean), then woody aroma’s. I just can’t put into words what it actually smells like! It’s a power house that lasts and lasts and I believe unisex.I certainly will be keeping this for special occasions, it just smells precious!

Spicy, spikey, sharp, sweet, woody, oudy, rosy and heavenly.
This is typically strong with punchy notes and is definitely for people (men and women could wear this) who are confident enough to announce their presence before they enter a room.
The initial blast is a complete spice bomb but the dry dowm – whist still loud – is much softer and sweeter. Delicious.
    Love love love it!

I emailed Clarins UK about the availability of this, having failed at Harrods, Selfridges, and Harvey Nichols, they couldn’t even get back to me after three emails two letter. So I thought end of. I will move on to those who know about customer service. Clarins (UK) and the license holders of Mugler fragrances in Europe are useless!

Whoah, Phwoar!!! If I ever say I can’t find a perfume that doesn’t last on me again you can poke me with a hot stick. This is so potent it took one teensy weensy light spray and it was still going strong 5 hours later.
To put it in perspective, I love Dis Miroir. I was gifted some by a fragrantican and I immediately fell in love with it. Today I managed to find a bottle to buy. Whilst I was browsing the other beauties on offer I saw for sale…..
a carded sample of Voluptes. I looked up the notes and didn’t know what to expect because it is so completely different from anything I have ever tried. I didn’t read any reviews because I wanted to come at it with a totally clear perspective. Well…………..the minute it hit my skin I was literally transported. If I closed my eyes I was in a huge palatial vaulted room surrounded by the most exotic flowers and people. Beautiful ladies in traditional eastern dress. It just conjured up what (in my eyes) a harem would look like. Sheer voile outfits, veils with golden coins adorning them. Huge gold bangles jangling on honey skinned bodies. The air filled with jasmine and woods. Hookahs sitting on little wooden tables and orange flower plants standing around the room giving off the most wonderful intoxicating fragrance.
I love it, would I buy it? I’m not sure. The amount needed is so miniscule it would take many many years to even begin to use the contents of a bottle and it is certainly not a crowd pleaser. This little gem is purely for private wear in the comfort of my own home, used incredibly sparingly. But what a wonderful way to be transported to a completely different world. If you seek something opulent, beautiful, sultry, luxurious, hedonistic and selfish you could do worse.

It is so hard to write a review about something that good! It really leaves you speechless!
All I can say is that this perfume is a gorgeous unisex perfume with a great sillage and longevity!
If you love, like or even hate oud, try this perfume. It can change your perspective on it!
    Masterpiece!

It is an elegant, creamy and deep scent. Not for the light hearted. But, then again, it is Mugler, so one expects high quality and beautifully blended ingredients. Opens with a Bulgarian rose and woody notes. Later I get hints of patchouli and oud. the scent gets darker, smoky and sensual. It is warm, comforting and very long lasting. Give it a try.

completely an arabic perfume with high build quality.
but absolutely it’s not my type.
this perfume remind me midnight oud from juliet has a gun but they have a diffrent smell in drying down notes.
    has a great projection.

My favorite out of the Miroir collection. The first time I smelled this it stunned me. I knew I must have it. It is so rich and earthy with a slight sweetness. This perfume is so masterfully blended. Very strong oud and tobacco leaf in the opening, as it settles a minute the rose and orange blossom start coming forward. What a beautiful combination. The oud stays through the whole composition. The sandalwood is beautiful with amber adding a smokey sweet background. The patchouli is well blended to create such an exotic scent, not a vulgar patchouli in this one. Worth every penny!!!

this is mystery in a bottle ..its so sultry so refined so velvety so everything beautiful and meaningful in perfumery its an almost perfect composition missing nothing its full round its Ecstasy in a bottle..its really bewitching mesmerizing the Bulgarian rose(teats whats written on the notes)but i can swear i smell taif rose ..! layered with the agar wood oudy velvety heavenly transformations happen and you are lost in oriental dreams its soft and strong feminine and masculine its opposites attract…its got cherry to add some hidden sweetness and orange blossom to lift up the whole masterpiece…its bitter sweet..its a perfume you can drink literally you can never have enough off some what addictive ..its definitely one of a kind among western trends in perfumes its going to be a pioneer ..yes in Arabia and India 1000 s of years ago people have already done this but terry did it in a modern way yet didn’t lose the authenticity ..the new oud rose trend has been popular but no one got it as good as this maybe David yurman and mancera come close and Juliet has a gun but they are still not as mesmerizing…

i am not a terry mugler fan..yet i fell in love with the mirror mirror collection, especially voluptuous..its an amazing combination of pure oud and taif rose, musk, and patchouli.. and a secrete hint of mystery..its so velvety.. elegant …looooooooooooooooooooong lasting… and sensual..they really got it right..i disagree with one of the above reviews that there is no oud in it..on the contrarily there is heavy Indian or burmy oud in it and that’s whats making it so long lasting and distinctive..i have experience with raw oud from all over the world and its not an easy substance to play around with.. I.E mix with other french notes..oud is best mixed with rose and patchouli and sandalwood and maybe musks and ambers..so for a european company to come out with this fragrance i do salute them …it reminds me of Juliet has a gun midnight oud.. and a bit of the new estee lauder wood mystique..
its a perfume made for an Arabian, Andalusian, far eastern princes, it really has that aurora of royalty….
i bought it from sephora for about 180 us dollars..but its worth every cent for you don’t need much just a tiny spritz goes until the next week..just like real oud..
the perfume really evokes the senses and takes you to another place and time its so sensual so voluptuous as if its a cocoon that wraps around you yet not over powering or suffocating because ouds can have that effect some times..but when done just right like that it really makes you feel like you are warped around a velvety, warm, mysterious cloud …its an acquired smell, so give it some time to fall in love with, but be warned once you love an Arabian prince ,you can never go back. for the depth and the warmth and the passion is way tooo deep to ever return to earthly scents..
better worn in winter nights !

So I just caved in and bought this for my birthday, hopefully my last purchase of the year lol! I’ll update this when it comes, I hope I loveeeeeeee it!
EDIT: I finalllllly received this after the seller sent me the wrong one. I must say it was not what I was expecting at all, but not in a bad way. I was searching for an exotic scent yet did not expect it to be so sophisticated and clean! I agree with someone’s comment on the opening to be medicinal, it was on me as well, but not for more than 10 seconds so I didn’t mind it. After that I get predominantly woods, sandalwood according to the notes. The amber and oud are there but it is very well blended, making it warm and inviting like a big blanket. This will definitely be a favorite of mine on the rare occasion that it is cold here and on dreary rainy nights. After 6 hours, including a visit to the gym, it is still alive and kicking. It is softer now but still not to the point I need to bury my nose in my wrist. I believe the rose has finally come out to play beneath the wood pile. I do not see this as masculine, perhaps as mentioned below in the middle east, but for me I can see it much more easily worn by a confident woman who is secure in her femininity and not afraid to think outside of the box. This isn’t one of those generic scents that all of your friends will run out to the store and buy and in that I find great comfort. So if this sounds like you then I highly enjoy it! Bravooooo Thierry Mugler!

Got this one as a tester..
    Opening is very intense,almost medicinal!
Didn’t like it, too vulgar for me even with my authentic arabic nose the opening was harsh really…
But the dry down is actually good! Thats when the flowers kick in! Pure arabian taifi roses WoooW! Very Sensual! Now I’m starting to love it! To me it starts masculine and ends up feminine ;> You can say it can be a unisex, at least in the middleast! You see here in this part of the world usually there is not much difference between His & Hers perfumes! And the same perfume smells pretty different on different genders :> And ladies in my opinion, this fragrance is better worn lightly either on the neck, decolletage, wrists, arms & hands! Or maybe all together! Enjoy! ;>

Thierry Mugler MIROIR DES VOLUPTES smells awfully cedarish to me. In fact, the primary scent to my nose would seem to be the same (only) component found in MOLECULE 01: iso-E-super. Maybe I’m wrong, or maybe that substance is in this perfume as well, and I just happen to be hypernosmic to it, but the bottom line is that I’m not catching much in the way of oud here. Of course, I’ve never encountered oud except in perfume, so let’s just say that this does not remind me at all of any of the other oud perfumes I’ve smelled.
I don’t think that this is a bad fragrance, but I would not call it an oud perfume. More of a cedarish composition. This is also more masculine than unisex, it seems to me.

I finally got it! Guess, so far that’s the most I’ve spent on a bottle of perfume – $125. But who’s counting?;)
The day, that I tried it – I’ve lost my sleep. I wanted to have it. As a reminder I had a piece of paper, that I kept in my bedside drawer and it smelled divine even after a WEEK! I think that’s the oud, that hooks you.
So, I had to wait a whole month before I went back to Dubai and finally got it, cause it was impossible to buy it anywhere else.
It is totally worth every penny!
Dark, woody, sexy, distinct, and the lasting power…until your next goood shower))
