Description

Timeless fragrances Classique and Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier arrive as a limited edition duo in Summer 2013. For the first time both fragrances are dressed in the clothing item that has become the symbol of the Gaultier Fashion World: the striped shirt, which has been source of inspiration for the fashion designer.

He describes his inspiration the following way “With their tattoos the sailors reflect the image of the bad boy, which I like very much, the image of womanizer and outsider who has a girlfriend or a mistress in every port!”

The flacons make a duo also in their contrasting partnered look: she is wearing a blue striped sailor shirt on white background, while his shirt has white stripes on a blue background. They share a symbol of uncompromising passion: a bright red heart tattoo on the chest. The perfumes are packed in silver cans embellished with a love symbol and contrasting stripe pattern.

Women’s fragrance Classique is an Eau de Toilette retaining the original composition: rose and orange blossom supported by spices and vanilla. It is available as 50 ml EDT. The edition for men Le Male also arrives as Eau de Toilette with the familiar composition: lavender, mint and vanilla, available as 75 ml EDT.

A Special Limited Edition of the original LE MALE with the same notes (nothing changes) except the bottle and the tin.
A must have to Jean Paul Gaultier’s fans.

Great,…little bit different than la male and longer lasting. Partially absorbed by skin, under sweating has secondary release. It is clubbing fragrance.

Just to clarify some confusion here. This is exactly the same juice as the modern reformulated Le Male. There are no subtle differences. What you are actually smelling is the modern reformulation that started in France in 2010 and has made its way into American stores since 2011 and has watered down the original vintage version by taking away the heavy doses of cardamom (one of the more expensive ingredients in fragrance) and lavender, making the mint more prominent. So when you buy this, just beware that you will not be getting the same 12 hour powerhouse fragrance of a vintage Le Male. So what do you have? Pretty much just a pretty bottle. Another money-grab? Absolutely, but packaging has always been Jean Paul Gaultier’s biggest draw and his flashy, overt commercialism seems only to reinforce his genius as a shock designer rather than just another in a long line of flankers that continue to line his pockets as he now focuses almost exclusively on his television career in France.

I think these Le Male that comes in all sorts of edition is just the same juice but packaged in limited edition bottles until it sold out. The only different ones that I tried is Le male terrible (intense) and the original Le male, again I chose the original over terrible.
It’s long last, yes it is. Even on heavy sweat, scent stays, over 8 hours.

It’s not a new scent, completely the same as the original just in a new limited edition bottle.

Far too close to the original to make it a new scent worthy of buying.
There might be some slight different nuances in the opening but when it settles down to the base, Le Male is what you get.
    Nah, pass!

    I haven’t yet picked up a bottle, but it’s available through either Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s for $85 (4.2 oz EDT.) It’s definitely on my list . . .

Nordstrom offers this new iteration of Le Male on their website, but does NOT list the fragrance notes.
Nordstrom, what are the fragrance notes of Le Male Couple?
I do like Le Male Terrible. Le Male Terrible is a warmer version of the original.
