Description

Ilham is the new fragrance by soOud: in Arabic it is the sound of the word whose corresponding meaning is “Inspiration”. A complex and intense olfactory pyramid, notable for such precious and unusual ingredients as saffron, grey amber, tree musk, the Indian spice Nagarmotha or the Malaysian essential oil Gujum.

In soOud, the sensuality of oriental fragrances, profound, intriguing and passionate, typical of the Arab world, encounter a soul refined in its western manifacturing. Two precious raw materials conceal rare essences dedicated to the exploration of the senses, divided into two lines: Nektar, true high-concentration, rich, precious extracts, and Eau Fine, intense and delicate on the skin.

The names chosen are the phonetic translation of Arab words: on every package you can discover their meaning in English and French. Every fragrance extols inner beauty: the bottles almost entirely lacquered – except for the central part where a strip of transparent glass appears – to remind us of the niqab veil, which leaves a glimpse only of the eyes of the person who wears it. The stopper with its half cut recalls the sloping lines of modern buildings in the Middle East, completing a masterful blend of traditions and contemporaneity. Ilham was launched in 2014.

This is a review of the Parfum Nektar which is recommended for all the offerings of this line. Ilham which translates into inspiration in Arabic is a breathtaking Oriental gourmand that radiates a lot of warmth and happiness. The perfume opens with notes of caramel, plum, peach, saffron and a whiff of leather. It proceeds to a dense heart comprised of ginger, cypriol, pepper, labdanum and cedar. Finally it dries into a powdery base of Oud, vanilla, musk, patchouli, Peru balsam and benzoin. Beautifully blended, the Parfum Nektar concentration offers strong sillage and good longevity. The perfume is a warm Middle Eastern themed confection and the most beloved of the SoOud line . Enjoy!

If you are like me and cant pick apart every little note and and just can tell what the overall smell is like well let me tell you. You are basically gonna get this sweet caramel and vanilla smell then you will get in the mix of that this sweet fruity smell. That might not sound like a good mix but trust me if you like sweet juice this is for you.Its not overly sweet or overaly fruity its a very nice blend of both and is perfectly unisex.Very nice fragrance perfect all year around in my opinon.

the top note and when first sprayed it goes extreme virgin Pena colada. the fresh pineapple and white Indian coconut with a hint of caramel and a bit of vanilla to splash the taste. then goes a bit calm in away the saffron and the pepper raise up a bit to settle in the middle, the red berries peaches and leather comes also in the middle and the base note as well as what makes it harsh and dark is the balsamic effect with the help of patchouli but saffron is quite harsh in here as once it’s out and never leaves and i guess that what the saffron always do. but surprisingly the saffron hold up in the same line with vanilla, peach, berries, and the patchouli and maybe a bit backward to make it balanced and less strong than the caramel.
this fragrance is like a long blood red dress with a living fresh berries, and scoops of caramel beaches creme with thin twigs of vanilla as it’s leaves are patchouli. quite strong and lasts forever, and to be honest it’s strength gives me headaches.
one last thing, this fragrance needs to be strong so in my opinion never go for the white bottle which is the Fine, go for the small black bottle which is the extract, it’s a bit more expensive, less in ml (around 30ml), but saves you more of the enjoyment.

I like this one, sadly my lack perfume knowledge will prevent me from describing this scent with much accuracy.
    But here it goes:
I get a sweet balmy smell, with just a tinge of the medicinal Oud-ness. It seems dense without being heady.
I’m testing from a vial and I don’t find the projection too strong but that might change if I were to spray it
