Description

Extraordinary is a marvelous floral oriental combination of the sparkling champagne and the creamy chocolate candies. It is a very joyous, optimistic and feminine fragrance – luxurious but not demanding. It agrees with any and every occasion, as every day can be a special occasion should you choose it to be, and with every dress style – blue jeans, to the office, party dress, or any other extraordinary occasion.

The top notes composition is unusual and attractive at the same time. The citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine, and the fruity notes of guava are accompanied with soft whisper of pepper and radiant, dazzling champaign notes. The heart is exotic, deep and rich, composed of orchid, golden ginger flower and lotus flower laced with luscious chocolate. The warm velvety base is created of pale woods, sandalwood, and musk, with hint of patchouli and creamy vanilla. The perfume was created in 2005.

The nose behind this fragrance is Harry Fremont.

To me, this is the epitome of fruitchouli. I smell patchouli with a sweet, fruity background. I’m not getting the gourmand notes at all.
Edit: second time trying, I can smell the chocolate and orange in the top notes, and a light gourmand / patchouli blend on the drydown. I still can’t decide if I want to keep this one or swap it.

Just received this today. Hmmmm….the opening is kinda harsh… pepper/ginger..??..but that leaves very quickly….and I can smell a chocolate/orange (tangerine,is in this actually), and as the scent progresses, patchouli/vanilla enter in…but not heavily….the sandalwood smooths everything out…but I would not call this woody/spicy.
Raspberry gives it’s “support” to the light sweetness that comes thru…maybe the orchid-ish vibe helps out too.The pepper/ginger from the opening is still “underneath” it all now. I guess I could refer to this as a chocolate/cacao/tangerine scent mostly.
I am really liking this one! I have the 2005 Limited Edition version…I don’t know if this is the same or different from the original….???….
This is not a overly heavy/sweet scent, the blend allows it to linger on you…w/o major sillage…IMHO.
At less than $10.00 on eBay….it is worth it to try this. My first Avon I have owned….even though I have smelled/test many Avon scents. I will be more apt to try more of them now.
EDIT: Have been wearing this all day…and….it is really really great stuff!!
What a pleasant surprise from Avon….!!!! wrist crack IMO…lol

I love this fragrance and get many compliments while wearing it. It lasts several hours on my skin. It is a very beautiful warm scent. When I first got the bottle I did not care for it because of the strong pepper note. After spraying the perfume 10 times, the strong pepper smell is gone and left behind is the delicious scent I have come to cherish.

This one falls flat for me. It opens nicely, but quickly turns a bit odd. It’s not BAD bad, but it definitely doesn’t smell like it should cost any more than it does (I paid $16 shipped which was pretty average for it on EBay). The chocolate note is dull, like a cheap candy bar that’s gone stale. The woodiness helps a bit for a while, but then gets overtly synthetic. Overall, Extraordinary just smells synthetic and cheap. Almost a scrubber, actually.

So nearly two years later, I’m still blown away by this fragrance, but now I have better knowledge with which to describe it.
Extraordinary absolutely lives up to its name. If there was a fault of Avon in the release of this scent, it is the fact that it was released ahead of its time. In the recent influx of gourmands and creative blends, this fragrance would be right at home . . . except that it’s not a fruity-floral. So let me rephrase this: this fragrance would be right at home among niche fragrances.
Had Harry Fremont pitched this differently, to a different company, it would be wildly successful. But alas, it is another Avon genius discontinued and sold for pennies on eBay.
The fantastic thing about this fragrance is the blend. A brilliant blend will sell me every time, and this one has it. Taken all at once, I smell something woody, sweet, fresh, and warm all at the same time. I can’t describe the scent. I might categorize it as woody or even as an oriental. But initially I would never have been able to name the individual notes.
Give me a list, and I have an “ah-ha!” moment.
In my opinion, there is no one dominant note. Chocolate and vanilla are present, but this is no gourmand.
Black pepper and ginger are here, but this is not all that spicy of a scent.
I get orange and raspberry more than the grapefruit, and they are fresh and lovely, but this is no fruity fragrance.
The sandalwood carries the whole thing, and finally at the very end of the remarkably long life of the fragrance, it stands out. But up until this point, I did not find this to be a sandalwood scent.
There is a hint of the orchid and the lotus, but absolutely this is no floral scent.
SO how would I categorize this scent? In my opinion, it’s the musk that carries it. It makes for a creamy, rich base, almost like a luxurious cream or lotion. It’s not a sharp or “skanky” musk at all. It’s a clean, pure, fresh musk. Two other fragrances that have this same immaculate blend with musk are mark. Bohista (another Avon fragrance), and Jil Saner Sun.
In addition to the remarkable composition, this beauty has outstanding longevity. Today I sprayed once on each side of my neck and once on my left forearm for sniffing-convenience, and it’s still strong at 8:30 at night. It’s not overwhelming at all. Those around you will notice it for the first couple of hours at least, but I consider the silage to be moderate. And because the fragrance is so pleasant (to me), I can’t imagine anyone being put out by it.
I first wore this first in the spring in Minnesota. It later became my fall scent. Now I’m in Haiti and today the temperature was at a high of 90s (F) and now has dipped into the 70s (with low humidity). I think that the heat helps this fragrance to balance to beautifully. It’s a full-bodied, complex fragrance, but one that I find very appropriate for the heat.
Please do yourself a favor and buy this fragrance! Then once you fall in love with it, you can thank me by emailing Avon and asking them to bring this and all their other gorgeous discontinued fragrances back!

In 2005, I remember being in a waiting room, or waiting to do a job interview at a law firm in an old Victorian style house. While I was waiting there was an Avon Magazine/Advertisement lying on a table. I hadn’t gave Avon a thought for years, until I saw it and flip through it. Then I came to this-Extraordinary. I read it and it was promoting a decadence lifestyle of chocolate and wine, uniqueness. I begin to think , this bottle is especially pretty for Avon. So there was scratch and sniff and I preceded to — and was blown away with richness of this scent.
It was so complex in it notes.Yes-I was getting the boldness of chocolate, but there was the ginger and a fruit accord that just was, as it advertise–decadent! This was the first chocolate fragrance I had every smell and I thought–How expensive. My first thought is Avon has just come up in the world, they are truly trying to compete with the likes of Lauder, Guerlain.
Just smelling this and the bottle, I thought for sure this was going to be in a Guerlain price range, or sold at a department store. I remember grabbing two Advertisement wanting not to forget this fragrance and who to consult.
I didn’t get the job , but my mind was on finding the Avon Lady whose number was on the back of the ad and procuring this scent. I paid 25.00$ back in 2005 and brought another bottle after 2 years. I was so disappointed when they discontinue it. ( My Avon Lady told me as such when I brought the first bottle–“this is something Avon is trying out”)
This set on my vanity, proudly, next to Eau De Imperial, La Basier De Dragon from Cartier, Tom Ford White Patchouli ,Opium. It was just as dynamic as those. Just last year, I long for it and the closest thing that remind me of it was Jo Malone Blue Agave and Cocoa, but nothing will be quite like Extraordinary. I might be the first to purchase Extraordinary if Avon ever decide to brings it back.
PS: My upstairs neighbor was an Avon Lady but she never gave me advertisement, so I always got this from the woman listed on the back.

This one is gorgeous! The chocolate with the spices is divine while the flowers and the citrus gives this frag a classy vibe. A shame it got discontinued. Lovely scent.

The chocolate note convinced me to get this, but the back of the box reads chocolate orchid (what’s that?) and ginger flower? Anyway first spray out the bottle is a ton of ginger and pepper, I like ginger. I waited for the chocolate to appear but it never did. How did people vote for chocolate? I get a lot of sandalwood and patchouli in the dry down. It’s a nice fragrance and could have been guessed as a designer scent if I didn’t know it was Avon. It’s just not as Extraordinary as I would have liked. Lasts for ages and reminds me of Believe by Britney Spears.
The picture here is much prettier than the actual bottle.
    **Update**-a few days later: (September 30th 2016)
So I sprayed this on today and I got a whole heap of smooth dark chocolate just like the majority of you say! I guess a few sprays had to get out of the bottle first, due to it being there so long. My box says limited edition 2005, so it’s been there for eleven years! My advice to people ordering this is to get the first four or five sprays out the way then test after. This is so chocolatey and rich smelling. Chocolate, ginger, sandalwood and patchouli are what I get and I really really like it. Makes me wish I had asked for two bottles because I am going to be using this so sparingly to have it around for as long as I can….Extraordinary indeed.
Avon please relaunch this! Please! This and Today Tomorrow Always Gold.

Very synthetic smelling in an unpleasant way. It doesn’t smell like chocolate really. Or oranges. Or anything else listed in the notes or found in nature. This also has horrible silage/longevity I almost lost the scent 5 min after spraying. This was a disappointment for me.
UPDATE: wearing today layered over the last traces of this mornings Queen of Hearts. I think that’s the only thing saving it. I’m not trying to be negative but I really can not smell what it is in this scent that others find so “Extraordinary” I really want to like it but I still don’t catch any of the yummy individual notes. It still smells like a generic synthetic mess

One of my favorite scents of all time. My absolute favorite is the original formula Miss Dior Cherie, to give you an idea of what my tastes run to. This one I was told I would love by the Avon lady. I sprayed it on, didn’t like it, sniffed again, started to like it, smelled some more, put my nose into my wrist and breathed deep, then I bought 2 boxes.
It’s fizzy orange-y chocolate and I’ve never worn it when someone didn’t compliment me. This is perfect for winter when you want to feel cozy and warm.

Bring me the still beating heart of a virgin…and a cup of cinnamon hot chocolate: I feel like an Aztec goddess wearing this!
This is a lovely, rich, earthy cocoa note; not too sweet, but definitely chocolate-y. The patchouli is clean and still earthy, lightly incense-like but not overbearing. This is a really unique fragrance, rich but not too opulent. Too often chocolate in perfume is too sugary and patchouli is too dirty–this fragrance has them meet in the middle for something elegant, unique and a little exotic. I was gifted a tiny amount of this and wish it were still available; it has grown on me.

  12. :

The chocolate smell is a bit synthetic, but fades quickly. This smells like mostly sandalwood and orchid on me, with the lightest touch of chocolate in the background. Didn’t really get the pepper everyone’s talking about.
If anyone wants to trade a used bottle of something for this, I’d be cool with that. Mine is almost full, I only took a few spritzes from it.

This is more candy chocolately than Madonna’s TOD Naked. At first Extraordinary smells like someone with a mouth full of tootsie rolls sitting right by you. Then you get drugstore valentines day chocolates and champagne. I assume the strong note of ginger is what mimics the champagne.
I catch a whiff of orange every now and then and guess what…it’s the box of chocolates kind of orange cream. It sure is a neat perfume. I had a chocolate craving for days now and spraying this tonight is very satisfying.
I’m happy to have it in my collection. A constant chocolate and vanilla cream with champagne. I get a rasberry or orange nougat here and there too.

I notice that a number of reviewers are lamenting that this is discontinued- it is very inexpensive on ebay- just FYI! There are a ton of ads for it.
At first spray, Extraordinary is disturbingly gourmand. Literally, this smells like candy. You know those boxes of mixed chocolates, and there’s always a cream something that is unidentifiable (is it supposed to be a nut flavor or a fruit? Coconut? What IS that?)? Yup. That. That tastes exactly the way Extraordinary smells at the opening.
Not being a gourmand fan, and having purchased this hoping for the promised floral oriental, I’m a bit disappointed at this moment.
As the alcohol dries and the heart begins to open, the florals and sandalwood begin to make an appearance. Unfortunately, intensity begins to die down.
The patchouli here is nice, crisp, and drier than most. The ginger is nicely apparent, but sniffing my wrist too often makes my nose tingle. It’s the pepper, which adds a nice warmth, but would be nicer if it had a fuller body. Warning: This may be a sneezer for those who are sensitive. The magnolia is dominant, and quite lovely- one of the clearest magnolia’s I’ve encountered. I’m not finding any lotus or orchid.
My skin never seems to bring out fruit notes, they just disappear on me, with a few rare exceptions. No fruit notes are appearing here, either. This is now quite pretty, a spicy magnolia, with just a touch of sandalwood. Warm, fragrant rather than sweet, and dark chocolate is only noticeable when I bring my nose to my wrist- and I suspect that someone tucking their nose into a woman’s throat might enjoy detecting that hint of chocolate.
I’m liking this- I wish that it were stronger. Eventually, grapefruit came into play (I got a fruit!), and the scent turned quite cheerful and sparkly. I can definitely see why other reviewers compared this to champagne. All in all, this is a nice scent that evolves over time.I’m looking forward to testing it in the summer, when I suspect that it will really come into it’s own. For now, I consider this a fun, kicky, floral. The dark chocolate hung on throughout for me, but I ended up liking it. This is an inexpensive scent, with a really pretty bottle. You can wear it to work, out at night….it’s flexible, and very playful. Unfortunately, for me it only lasted 2 hours!
If you like cacao, I recommend that you take a look at Madonna’s Truth or Dare NAKED. It’s another cheapie, but takes a more oriental approach, providing incensey woody cacao bean, less of the perfumey floral vibe. Lasts forever!

This fragrance is truly extraordinary! Exotic!! I feel really good when I wear this and for the price? Wow! Thumbs up Avon, you nailed it with this one.

Yummy! I ordered this off Amazon because of reviews that listed it as one of the “cheap” perfumes that smells expensive. Wow. At first whiff I was thinking, “oh no, here’s that Avon stank again.” But then a couple of minutes later I was blown away. There’s chocolate and ginger and all that loveliness, but there’s also this gorgeous sandalwood that I’ve never noticed that way in another perfume. It is a stunning scent.
I also was confused because the embossed name and design was backward, then I turned it around and figured that might be the intended way to view the name (through the perfume) so I guess it was ok.

This is an interesting currently discontinued EDP by Avon for women. It reminds me of Rihanna’s Rebelle. The coffee and ginger spin together over the sweeter/vanilla notes for a bitter unisex experience. I get more milk chocolate from this, however.
The bottle is tall and elegant. The dry down is really soft and mellow. Longevity is moderate. Sillage is good. I was going to get rid of my two bottles. But I revisited this one today and decided to keep them.
Vanilla is there. A sophisticated gourmand. Avon is hit or miss for me. I love their fragrance called Passion for Women, which is currently available and I do like Far Away and Far Away Gold, especially for layering. But there are some Avon fragrances that I cannot stand.
I am keeping this one around for sure.

I bought this blindly since it seems like lots of reviews below are positive. Unless the vendor I ordered it from on-line gave me a really old bottle or a completely different fragrance, I truly dislike this one. I smell chocolate for probably the first three seconds and then nothing else but CITRUS LEMON. Great if that’s your thing, but I’m reminded and overwhelmed of household cleaning product fumes. I can’t deal with this. I scrubbed this one off even faster than JLo’s Glowing. Ugh.
EDIT: Ok, I gave this another chance. About after an hour later I can smell the chocolate. This one takes a while to develop. Don’t spray and hop in the car expecting to smell great unless you LOVE lemon. Otherwise, the slooooooow drydown is actually not bad. An interesting scent. Can’t say I hate it or love it. I maybe like it a little even. Oddly enough, although I think most chocolate scents are for evening wear, this one is appropriate for daytime use. It’s an optimistic chocolate, not a sensual sexy chocolate.

Oh my! I think I have found my dark chocolate in a bottle.
Mmmm dark, bitter chocolate opening. This is then complimented with a liqueur like melange of fruit, flowers and ginger. In fact it smells like a liqueur I would drink if it existed (maybe one does?) Ginger, chocolate and roses (I know it not listed in the notes list, but it is there for me), what more could a gal ask for. This is a lip smacker. I think I have found my autumn winter signature this year. This is a nice strong one which projects well. It is sweet and spicy and has deep patchouli, musk and sandalwood in the background. Blind buy, very happy!

Is it just me or is this a spicier version of Today? I adore it, don’t get me wrong, but they smell almost the same to me. Love the stronger chocolate note, though. In a nutshell, I love it and plan to wear it regularly!

I do not always agree with the site’s review at top, but in this case they nailed it. I have a high appreciation for remarkable scents at a budget price. Avon’s Extraordinary fills the bill.
I find this fragrance to be absolutely Extraordinary, in fierce competition (if not a clear winner) over some of the most expensive scents in the world. Champagne sparkly with cocoa and ginger notes makes for a highly interesting, unique and gorgeous blend. This is a rich and sexy frag! It is an exquisite designer evening gown with no jewelry (unnecessary, the dress is the jewelry) or a tee shirt and distressed jeans with diamonds and blingy mixed metals. It is sensually serious and fun at the same time. This frag makes me smile and lifts my spirits sprayed with no makeup wearing my sloppiest attire. Smells elegant and fitting dressed in my finest.
I am happy to see this listed as an oriental as it should be. Despite the large cocoa blast this is not a gourmand. Extraordinary is not for the die hard jelly bean and choco candy frag lovers. It is more sophisticated than that and its complex blend so very well done the price is a steal. I am honestly glad some people dismiss Avon frags for fear an Avon scent be seen on their vanity or found hidden in a cabinet. I often see Avon referred to as “linear” which I disagree and think that kind of thing varies with skin chemistry. If the scent smells beautiful from beginning to end I have no complaints, as certain reactions can occur in the changelings which are not always a good thing. Avon’s well done scents stand competently toe-to-toe with the finest Parisian “parfums” in the world. Avon’s Extraordinary is definitely one of those scents. Lovely!

Rubber gloves. The yellow kind most of us have hiding under our kitchen sink. Floral rubber gloves. But in a very strange and odd way I am very drawn to it. It smells really good! I am surprised rubber is not listed in the notes.

Opens citrus and pepper, too much grapefruit for me personally, but warms up to an interesting ginger and dark chocolate with touches of orchid, patchouli, and musk. Drys down about 4 hours later to a sweet musky vanilla with a hint of chocolate still lingering. I actually ended up really liking Extraordinary.
Sillage goes from inches to skin, and lasts over 6 hrs total on me.

I remember when I was an Avon rep. and this came out. It was inspired by Faubourg 21 I think. Creamy with a bite, it was more about rich dry cocoa ( Néonatura like) than milk chocolate and had an understated vintage vibe to it ( think Vintage by kate moss). This was one that stayed with me all through the day and I so cherished it. Reading up on it again has made me want it all over again (and I was just commiting to a no buy for 2014 lol!!!) . Gourmand without being decadent, floral yet opulent, sophisticated and modern, it has much to offer including sillage and longevity!

  29. :

I really enjoy this one. I was on the search for a chocolate scented perfume and I read about this one on the thread. I find it to be a really nice chocolate scent with a decent longevity. I layered this with Chocolovers and the two makes a perfect combination. If your looking for an inexpensive chocolate scent give this one a try.
Edit: I have officially fallen in love with this beauty. It is so much more than a chocolate gourmand scent. There is something very sexy and enticing about it. The more times I wear it the more I realize just how beautiful and unique a scent this is.

For the moment it is the only perfume I bought based on reviews here (I ordered it even on eBay and I’m from Europe myself). At the beginning didn’t know what to think, I liked it but couldn’t “crack it’s code”. All I smelled was a lot of ginger and spiciness, but now I can say the more I wear it, the more I get it and am starting to fall in love with it. It’s warm, spicy, cozy, now I smell a lot of dark chocolate, every time I spray it I feel like flying in cloud full of dark chocolate. And it’s perfect for the winter time!
Sillage and longevity is moderate though. Overall I’m giving 7 out of 10 🙂

I was so excited to try this scent for the chocolate note everyone is raving about. I just can’t find it! Maybe if I imagine really hard, there’s a little cocoa dust, but really, I can’t detect it. On me, this is a very syrupy fruity floral. Like the warm fruit syrups you find at pancake restaurants, or even marmalade. I can smell the pepper and lotus flower, too. I would reverse the “Notes according to your votes”. I would agree that the patchouli is very light.
My perfume box says, “chocolate orchid”, and “ginger flower” which makes me wonder if that’s all the chocolate and ginger that are in here. I really wanted the chocolate and champagne experience, but it’s not to be for me.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

I agree with the reviewer just below that this is a fragrance that doesn’t seem like every other gourmand on the market. At first spray the chocolate note is noticeable, then for me it mellows down. This seems like it would be a lovely perfume for anytime, daytime or nighttime, but I’ll probably wear it more in fall and winter. It does have a hint of patchouli but for me it is not too much. I tend to hate patchouli and there are so many fragrances I would love but for the patchouli note. This one is doable for me. I’m not getting a lot of fruits in this although it is listed, so maybe it’s just my skin chemistry. I’ll edit after I’ve had it on a while. I’m hoping for good longevity and that no funky notes become prominent on me.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Extraordinary is certainly one of these fragrances that an oriental floral lover simply must have.
While chocolate note is very prominent, the whole composition does not resemble a gourmand mediocre perfume mass market.
Chocolate note is entwined by the spice and earthiness of pepper, patchouli and just a hint of fruity note.
I purchased Extraordinary in blind and must admit that for a fragrance under a tenner, it does the job. It generates compliments, it lasts quite a while (good 4-5 hours), it has noticeable silage (I get oriental delicious whiffs during cool weather mornings).
It is most definitely a keeper for winter time, I cannot comprehend why has the fragrance been discontinued, from the reviews I can tell that it seems to appeal to oriental lovers, it possesses the quality of some of the expensive designer creations, so how about you bring it back, Avon?
    Notes: 9/10
    Lasting power: 8/10
    Silage: 8/10

On my usual round of thrift and vintage stores, I found Extraordinary, an Avon fragrance I wasn’t familiar with from the past. Checked the notes, thought they were interesting, and knew I would buy it.
The sales associate that had taken it from the display case, pulled the bottle out of the box, sniffed it before handing it to me and announced, “Oh, smells like another Avon perfume!” (Thank you for your poignant assessment, ma’am. I’ll keep it in mind if I decide to make a purchase today.)
Now I love my patchouli. Funny thing is, I hardly get any from this scent. But I do get chocolate. Chocolate as if I grated a bar of baker’s chocolate over a warm, thick, creamy custard. It’s not a sweet chocolate that’s cloying, just comforting and relaxing. There’s a hint of spice in Extraordinary, it’s the ginger that lays very low sprinkled on the sweet patchouli leaves that are sitting on the side of the custard plate for decoration, but their soft aroma wafts upward to your nostrils from the heat of the dessert.
Uplifting and fresh to start, Extraordinary’s notes are blended to give this perfume a gourmand-like flair with an excellent run. A good eight hours later, I still sensed a musky scent with chocolate and spices that was soft and sensual. A very rare occurrence for me.
The name, Extraordinary, along with swirling patterns, similar to a fleur-de-lis design, is embossed in gold on the back of the bottle so you can see it through the front of the tall rectangular glass.
Wonderful by itself, delightful for layering and absolutely beats many other far more expensive chocolate fragrances on the market.
Quite a happy purchase for me and yes, this fragrance is extraordinarily delightful.

WOW!!! I don’t know what it is, but based on the various reviews, here, I went and got some. WOW ..when I spray, it smells like bug spray. No coffee, no chocolate… not even sweet.
I didn’t put it directly on me, yet, so maybe that will change. If I do put it on and hate it, I’ll work out a swap with someone. I do want something that smells like coffee AND chocolate… I already have chocolovers.
We’ll see. I’ll put on a no risk amount. If I don’t like it, I’ll send out an APB for a trade. Until then, …

    This is Amazing!
When I bought it 4 years ago, it smelled on my skin like bitter dark chocolate. So, I haven’t been wearing this for years..
I was craving for something chocolate-y, but not as sweet as Chocolovers, so I said why not 🙂
I am so happy I did! Seems my chimistry with perfumes changes, or might it be my nose? 🙂
It starts off with dark chocolate off course, but not as bitter as it smells from the flanker neither as it used to be on me years ago. The great thing about this perfume is that it’s so well-maid. It develops on skin that after a while it turns sexy musky, something like a hint of Narciso Rodriguez or Guerlain’s Idyle, with chocolate lingers faintly 🙂
I’m really enjoying it, a great fall perfume and… It’s sad that Avon has discontinued this one and Surrender ( my 2 faves from Avon) will miss them of course when I finish the bottles I had been stocking 😀

this is a chocolate, orchid, musk concoction that smells so luscious on me. a very unique perfume and as a bonus, it’s also long lasting. I really can’t stop smelling my wrists. I received this as a gift from a very generous member and I can tell this is going to be a much loved favorite and will get a lot of use.

Cocoa, orchid, pepper and patchouli (all in heavy amount) are damn strange combination, that probably makes many people feel sick. But it sure is extraordinary creation for something like Avon. When i was wearing it (for 2 times only) it felt kind of warm and sticky, in the meaning “i will not let you go”. It is heavy, lubricous, intoxicating, odd and nice at the same time, kind of flowery dirty, ambivalent. For me in the section – i like it, but couldn´t wear it

Surprisingly a ground breaking perfume for Avon. After years of coming up with semi neutrals.. this one exploded on to the market and took everyone by surprise. It was fantastic when it was 1st launched but it’s staggering popularity made it hard to wear without blending into the masses.
I really liked it at the time and if the ginger wouldn’t have been present i would have loved it even =)

I used to love this one…now I feel like it is a lovely scent but not necessarily living up to its namesake.
I like the smell of chocolate and you can REALLY smell the chocolate in this one.
If you are not a fan of gourmand this one is not for you.
The funny thing is I actually got some compliments wearing this and people asking me what it was. I felt like I was wearing something truly unique.
With that said, how could I not love it? Well, I do still love it to be honest. I still wear it from time to time but I feel like it might be a little overpowering sometimes.
I think that maybe I just grew out of gourmand fragrances. A lot of the fragrances marketed to girls and young women smell as sweet as they can humanly make it; like a candy shop!
This one is not nearly that bad. The smell of chocolate is actually quite balanced with the other notes. So this is definitively a more mature scent.
I actually remember my grandma gushing about it when she smelled it on me.
I think that I might just wear it out a few more times (because honestly I still do like this) and then maybe just gift it to her just because she loved it so much.

LOVE! Nice oriental, warm, not over powering and lasts a long time on me. You can find this on ebay for a reasonable price. I have 2 and may purchase another before you can’t find or if you do its is really exspensive. I hate when avon has a nice perfume and then discontinue it.

Oh how I loved this scent. Now why does Avon discontiue the majority of my favorites? This is a really warn, rich and sweet smelling perfume. Vanilla with cocoa and slight oriental like. The smells lasted for hours and hours and the notes stayed true without much fading. Perfect so I thought till I can no longer buy it anymore.

Not very long lasting but is still a great scent that i like, but not use very often.

I can’t quite make up my mind if I like this. I guess I do. Sweet it is not. Think of powdery dark chocolate, vanilla, pepper, woods, orange and cinnamon- really unisex. Despite all that, it wears close to the skin and it not terribly potent but does last several hours. This one is different and I am glad I tried it, but it is not a gourmand from my perspective. Winter wear for the Northern hemisphere. Does vaguely evoke the scent of Christmas. Alas, I have a 50 ml bottle and shall not need to repurchase.
