Beautiful, very strong and womanly perfume. I love it. I feel completely fulfilled whenever I wear it. It gives me a feeling of wholeness and strength, courage and contentment. Terrific rose, so beautiful, the ginger adding a rich spicy warmth – a delicious combination. Beautiful woods give a lovely grounding. The dry down is really gorgeous: long and lingering sweet and satiny. It’s very feminine, utterly charming, and lush – the rose being the main beauty of this lovely scent.
Baroque is a queenly scent, for queenly women. It makes me feel like one.

This is a dark, edgy rose, and it’s the spicy ginger that gives it the edge. This is nothing for the weak hearted – it’s a woman’s scent. Nothing romantic about it at all. On my skin it’s all about the rough ginger and thorny roses. Beautiful, and I’m so sad it’s discontinued.

I have a vintage set of baroque, moment vole and two other fragonard perfumes which aren’t listed oui madame and tiarella.I was wondering how old they are?they all smell good still not off.I wonder if anyone can help with information on the tiarella as it smells nice but I can’t find notes or age anywhere.Anyway I will review the two listed in a few weeks after testing.
Ok my first try of this vintage baroque which I think dates from late 70’s early 80’s it’s parfum 80%.I can smell “vintage”musky floral. This smell is familiar and not appealing to my nose!I’m thinking what is this familiar smell in the opening??Elizabeth Taylor’s Passion(which I’m also trying to like but is too vintage). This is very similar in powdery muskiness to passion but with roses added,Will update or swap if I don’t learn to love this.

Baroque EdT is a great scent for grown-up women. Great mix of Rose, softspicy Ginger, Musk, Saffron and soft warm Vanilla. Not a girly scent, the flowernotes are dark, and mature. I like it a lot.

Was given Baroque by former employer and his wife from a trip to Europe. I have had it for 6 years and use it so sparingly because it is so precious to me! It smells heavenly. There is the Eau de toilette on ebay but not sure how that would be as I have the aluminum flacon which is the parfum. Will keep searching !!!

I am so so happy I won this one from ebay 75ml from 100 ml. One of the best rose scents I have sniffed so far. Baroque is very romantic honoured old fashioned way, and at the same time very much modern to use. This is a time machine trip to other time and place for me. Name of scent is correct, there could not be better name for this beauty. I do not know a scent what can be compared to Baroque so unique Baroque is. I do not know if its combo of rose and Guaiac while Bergamot gives freshness to combination. I had 30 ml perfume collected and dare not use much because its so hard to find, now I think I have this magical liquid to dare spraying more. I just wish Fragonard would relaunch Baroque. Its so sad when created something this special and then discontinue it. I wish I will never run out my bottle. Emilie is another one I wish never to be discontinued (this one I have plenty on my wardrobe *Smiles*)
    Hugs from Finland!

This is pretty unique, and in fact at first I didn’t think I liked it. It gets better the longer you wear it. Wish I could still get it. It was a gift from someone that visited Europe.

I love this perfume and like all other reviewers brought it in Paris at the Fraggonard Store. Alas they no longer make it!
No one else had a scent like this one!! If anyone one knows where to purchase it…
Don’t keep it all to yourself! 🙂

Baroque is a modern, gentle rose scent.Absolutely beautyful, unique, refreshingly feminin and chic.:)
For me that is the smell of pure feminity. Clear but smooth rose aroma with saffron, pale vanilla and musk. Just amazing.Rich and elegant, creamy rose. Impulsive scent with depht and caracter.
    Delicious and adorable!!!!!!!!:)

I bought this at the Fragonard Museum in Grasse, France. It’s strong but not in an overpowering way. I would rather say strong in a feminine, rich and very European way, if that makes sense.

my husband visited Fragonard on a business trip to Nice France & brought me back a couple of small bottles of Fragonard perfumes. My favorite quickly became Baroque. The next year I tagged along on the trip to Nice & we drove our to Fragonard (near Eze) & I bought a couple of bottles. And then a few years after that we searched the back streets of Paris for the Fragonard store and bought some more. I love it. I wear it on special days or days that I just need to feel a bit more special. AND no one else ever has the same fragrance on. On me its a soft fragrance – not strong.

Baroque is gigantic red roses-my first sensation of having such queer velvet petals tickling my skin-with a refined but very clear taste of saffron, a not so spicy but warm and light ginger note-and a base that is very well balanced and gorgeous if you like Guaiac wood. Roses foncés de Fragonard-vraiment Fragonard-sylistically classical as the name yet it’s a robust and even playful kind of baroque! I love the smell, and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to sample it through a swap, but I am even more fortunate to not have fallen in love with it.It’s stunning, but doesn’t make me swoon like Aoud Rose Petals, Roses Musk or Aoud Damascus.I am sure I don’t have stronger feelings about this because I have conditioned myself to know that falling in love with Baroque would be guaranteed heartbreak!
It is terrible that it has been discontinued, but I once read a review that said Baroque is rumoured to turn too quickly-so anyone who has a bottle should decant into a vial, and apply this way-and if you have some in glass, keep it in the dark! Do whatever you can to retard the decay of this fragrance!

I love this scent! It’s strong and daring, especially in Parfum version, but also very romantic and feminine. It smells like a beautiful rose garden full of blooming dark and red roses plus some gourmand spice (not too much!) and precious wood. I feel very pretty and passionate in it.

From the few Fragonards I’ve sniffed, I find that some of them are not fully what you expect from the notes. For example, I have be in the mood for rose, but the rose in Baroque I barely notice. I think that’s what perfume is sometimes, sometimes a note is meant to star and sometimes it is meant to be blended in seamlessly. The rose here adds the floral feel, the earthy ginger provides the warmth and spicy freshness. It’s a very rich feel. When it dries down, the vanilla and musk come out a little more it becomes a beautiful silky sweetness upon my skin. This could be more of a nighttime scent, but I’d wear it anytime, and love wearing it with Diamant.
Notes: Baroque is an elegantly composed floral harmony of tea rose, bergamot and Bulgarian rose spiked with ginger and enveloped in lignum vitae, vanilla and musk. A fragrance with a striking personality and passionate impulses.
*Note: lignum vitae is Guaiac wood. It has a Tea-Rose-like odour, and is used as a fixative in perfumes.
