So far Zara scents have never failed to disappoint me. Each purchase from them has been a delightful surprise. I wanted this one so very much but couldn’t seem to find it. Then it was sold at Zara in the US and I couldn’t afford losing out. For a scent that contains no gourmand notes, this exudes warmth and sweetness. This initially came off almost like a play dough type of thickness that comes through out the opening but I dont mind. I know Zara gets alot of flack for imitating popular fragrances like Flowerbomb, La Vie Est Belle and Black Opium but overall they usually make great affordable scents that really smell good. This one is no exception. I would have to save up for Dior Hypnotic Poison but while I do that, I can cozy up to this runner up and be content with what it offers.

in 2018 is there a new production of Zara Deep vanilla?

The drydown of this is very similar to Hypnotic Poison – I tried them side and by side, and the similarities were uncanny! Except, of course, Hypnotic Poison is far more robust, complex, and potent.
The top notes of Deep Vanilla can lean very chemical-y (it reminds me of a cough syrup I used to take when I was a kid!), but wait for about 30-45 minutes for the scent to settle on your skin, and you will get to that Dior HP-like drydown.
This, however, is a much brighter version of Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. It’s lighter, airier, more transparent, and not as deep than the former. Actually, this is what I would have initially imagined Poison Girl to smell like.
If these 2 perfumes were colors… I’d say HP is a deep, sexy, dark red, while Zara’s Deep Vanilla would be a plummy violet-red. Beautiful alternative to Hypnotic Poison if that one’s not within your budget!

To me, this smells very much like Prada Prada Candy Kiss, which made my day. A little lighter but equally musky – a dream. I have been searching for a twin-scent to PPCK for so long now, because I spend way too much on perfume anyway, so a cheaper alternative to a great scent is always appreciated. I will report back on how and wether this really stands the test of everyday wear. Am very smitten by it at the moment. A light but not lightweight perfume wich could easily come from a much more exclusive brand, a must try for everybody who, like myself, is not yet completely cured of a hankering for Vanilla. Vanilla here is much more subdued, more like an afterthought, a distant reminder. Very very nice, sillage about five feet, as of now not sure how long it will last, though. A huge like, maybe a love.

I tried it and fell love with it!!! Just amazing!!!

Lighter “summer” version of hypnotic poison. Quite possibly more tolerable for people who like HP but in small doses.

This is another amazing fragrance from Zara! Great sillage and longevity. Smells exactly like deep vanilla. There must be a mistake in the notes listed? It is very sweet and slightly musky oriental vanilla fragrance. Very beautiful and great for layering with other fragrances too. I’ve been loving this combined with my rose scents!
And again great packaging from Zara. The box is a great design, a very sturdy box with a sleeve. Better packaging than with most designer perfumes, which I find very funny. The box also mentions that the perfumer was inspired by the comfort and sensuality of the heliotrope flower. Which leaves me thinking if that’s in the notes too?

Deep vanilla without “vanilla” listed in the notes??? Interesting!

Despite being offered by a major fashion chain I found this vanilla surprisingly well made.
There is a dark, smoky vibe to it that makes this scent grown-up, not girlish. Certainly, you get a delicious vanilla but medium sweet with moderate projection and pretty good longevity.
Besides, I very much like the packaging. The bottle (quite a big one with 100ml) is very heavy and the cap alone contributes to its weight. This bottle lies in a sturdy carton box that is surrounded by another carton shell. For that price you could not get a better vanilla scent but, and I bet on that one, you could sell this stuff under a fancier brand name with even fancier prices and the oh-so-knowing snobs would buy this scent without arguing about its “humble origin” (meaning not being niche and overpriced).
I happily bought me a bottle.
