I’m very pleased to have this frag in my collections. To me it’s one of the best fragrances from Zara, it smells amazing and very similar to V&R Flowerbomb.
I used up half of a full sized bottle of Flowerbomb before I gave it away a few years ago. I also had a 50ml bottle of Revlon Pink Happiness Delicate Moment. Although I no longer have them in my collections nowadays, they both smell very similar to Black Peony in my opinion. I find no reason to repurchase FB, especially since now I’ve got Black Peony.
The scent is pretty, it smells wonderful and lasts well for about 5 hours on my skin. It lasts for days on my scarf and clothes. What I really like about this frag is this sweet powdery/jasmine smell in it which makes it sophisticated and extremely gorgeous/girly. It’s really floral, sweet, clean and feminine. It doesn’t last as long as FB, but I always re-apply my frag mid of the day anyway, even my favorite lancome frags with super longevity. Plus I got this frag in 100ml for only AU$20 at the local Zara store during boxing day sale. The original price was just AU$26. I can’t believe I would pay for FB back then while this such a fantastic frag only costs about 10% of its price. So a few days later, I went back to the store and grabbed the last one remaining in a gift set. It came with 100ml Black Peony and 100ml Powdery Mongolia which is supposed to be the dupe for Chloe by Chloe EDP. I like both scents for different occasions and their new black packaging. Again the price was unbelievable, the original price was just AU$30 and I got them on sale in the gift set for just AU$25.
Personally Black Peony smells nicer than quite a lot of frags out there and it’s very similar to FB. Most importantly it’s unlike some Zara frags I came across before, the packaging of this frag is great. It comes in a well-designed black floral box and a heavy black glass bottle, which suits the name and the scent very well. I believe it’s the new packaging. The metal lid of the bottle is very simple, but cool. The glass bottle is black and it isn’t transparent, so you can’t see how much it is in the bottle, but it looks really gorgeous and cool with the pink print of the name of this frag on it. The quality of the bottle feels and looks fantastic. You will know what I mean once you get your hands on it.
I can’t stand frags in poor quality bottles, no matter how nice the scent is, so overall I’d love to give this lovely frag a 9/10 for what it delivers at such a brilliant price. It’s so worth it.
