If you like smoky and resinous oriental roses, you might like it. Slightly sweet and pleasantly dry, a sort of sweet pink with some dry nuances, which shows an inspiration close to Aramis Calligraphy Rose and some Middle Eastern economic fragrances built similarly on roses, resins, spices and vanilla, although, Saffron has a smell slightly more discreet, more floral, less heavy. A nice mixture of spices, not too dense, slightly smoky and powdery with something similar to honey and an incense base of vanilla. It smells somewhat more sophisticated and lighter than most, probably even more natural, even if I get a suspiciously clear Iso-E note, which makes it decidedly soapy, but there’s a nice dusty texture that makes it more refined compared to several heavier Middle Eastern perfumes. Nonetheless, they definitely come to mind as a close comparison. Rather linear and not so long lasting, with a rather boring drydown. Not the most creative mixture in circulation, not the most surprising quality on the market, but quite nice and unpretentious.

It ain’t a secret that rose and saffron do great together and Odori’s Zafferano is basically all about this combo. A clean and vivid rose paired to a very realistic saffron note with a woody / ambery oriental base. For anyone into eastern perfumery, definitely not novel but still somewhat nice.
Personally, I find it leaning a bit too much towards the soapy side of the spectrum (I prefer darker takes on the main theme), but if you’re fine with that, this is a pretty honest fragrance.
Ratign: 6.5/10

This is all about saffron! I am not too crazy about the opening of this fragrance, but thankfully it only lasts a minute. Dry-down is wonderful – non sweet saffron with a touch of rose with some soft woody undertones. The fragrance itself is pretty linear and although it’s a floral, I think it’s perfectly suitable for men. It has modern, minimalist vibe about it – very versatile! Big like for me.

I cant stand the opening cause it smells like bandage. But then it quickly turns into delicate rose aroma. Not fresh cut rose but dried one with sophisticated saffron. I like it 🙂

This perfume is absolute perfection. When I wear it I feel like a very very powerfull women yet sweet and romantic. It has lot of projection and saffran is very noticeable. Definetely unisex, my husband and I both have our own bottle and we share days of the week to wear it!

I have to admit that, I wasn’t impressed with it on me. It seemed too, erm, flat. Maybe it was just my body chemistry but there didn’t seem to be any depth to this scent.

Rebella is spot on. It’s all about the saffron, but it’s not rice pudding, rice pilaf or paella. There’s nothing foody about Zafferano. This is a beautiful floral. Delicate and sweet are the two adjectives that first come to mind. It smells like nothing else. It’s original without being weird. I’d call this a beautiful success of a perfume.
This is becoming a must-own very quickly. Do, I eek out a little from the tester and make it last until I can get a full bottle or revel in it?
Again, I’d love a little more longevity.

Do you like safron in perfumes? I do, and this is among the best I have tried.
It is aromatic, dry, flowery and smells very expensive and refined. It is not at all sweet or gourmand. The flowers in it are quite shy, but the rose comes trough now and then. A man could wear it without worrying about smelling to feminin.
Really good and very suitable for winter, I keep sniffing my wrist all the time.
Are you curious about a perfume with dominant note of safron and not to sweet, you really, really have to give this a try. Very italian.
