This smells very very sweet to me, I love it! I’m sure I have smelled this somewhere before, but can’t think of what it could have been unfortunately. I wish sillage and longevity were a bit better on my skin.

A creamy ylang ylang that lasts all day… For me it lasts more than 12 hours, I wear 6 spritzes. Silage wise, it’s a tame beast, just like Tubereuse Absolue, I got noticed and complemented… I love this, because the scent is not very common. And even though it is marketed towards women, I think men can easily pull this off too.

I’ve already reviewed this fragrance, but wanted to say something about marketing. Don’t misunderstand what I say, I understand “Nosy Be” is the ACTUAL NAME of an island off the northwest coast of Madagascar, and is Madagascar’s largest and busiest tourist resort… but I am willing to bet MOST people (especially here in America) don’t realize this, and the name, “Nosy Be” comes across as more of a novelty, than a serious fragrance. And because of this, serious fragrance freaks such as myself won’t even bother to try it. Maybe a better name would have been, “Ylang Island”, or something similar because “Nosy Be” brings to mind a cartoon elephant. Overall, the fragrance itself is elegant, classy, haunting, although the name can be misleading. In other words, if you love ylang ylang, don’t let the name keep you away. Although I don’t care for vanilla, it blends well here. In fact, I think it’s the best ylang fragrance I’ve found so far.

This is all about ylang-ylang and vanilla, trying it out along with a sample of Patchouli Nosy Be. I didn’t think I was going to fall for it but it’s lovely, the perfect summer evening scent. My second time out of the gate and its obvious there’s quality in this bottle. The woods come out in the drydown.
9 out of 10 for me.

I’m kind of torn about this one. On the one hand, it’s so unique and out there, very niche, unusual and true to the material. On the other, it’s very medicinal, so strong I can taste it in my mouth after one spray, kind of soapy and just plain weird. I adore ylang (chanel no 22, anyone?) but this is not something I want to smell like. Part of it is just too true to the material and the other part is this cheap synthetic vanilla note that pops up at random intervals.
I’ve been looking for a real ylang fragrance. This might be a case of “be careful what you wish for.”

This is ONLY for fans of ylang ylang, which includes yours truly. I wish there was less vanilla, it is unnecessary, but the ylang is haunting and comforting. I personally can’t discern any other notes (so far) except ylang and vanilla, except possibly the vetiver and cedar as it starts to dry down. Overall, this seems like an evening fragrance, a bit too classy for daytime. A definite “like”.

I received a small sample of this and was blown away by the quality, I can’t stop smelling my hand. I would never wear this because it is definitely for women only but VERY beautiful. BTW…it really does remind me of Tom Ford Noir de Noir minus the chocolate rose/ patchouli vibe.

Sexy, sassy, classy, fun clubbing scent. Different enough to be unique. Versatile enough for most situations tho beyond nightlife. Not sure I’d wear it to the office.
The leather (labdanum) becomes stronger towards the end. That, vanilla and the ylang end up the strongest. Labdanum and ylang – leather and sexxxy yellow flowers 😉
I’m sold. This one is too much fun not to love.

I bought a bottle of Perris YYNB to use as my spring/summer daily perfume, after testing a sample. I agree with many of the comments posted so far: it’s a beautiful and creamy ylang ylang perfume, excellent for those who like tropical flower perfumes. As Marie76 said, it does have a medicinal feeling, specially at the start, but then it (or my nose?) settles into the nice flowery smell. After that stage, I do not find this perfume developing any more, and perhaps this is the only criticism that I would have for it. So, it’s not the kind of perfume you would think of as a “masterpiece”, but nevertheless is very nice if you want to have a good-quality, tropical fragrance which is quite long-lasting.

This is a great modern Ylang scent. Its vanillic/woody drydown is lovely. Longevity is very good. If you love ylang ylang …its a must try. Very sexy.

This is very unique and I’ve never come across something like it. It’s a bit medicinal, like a minty but also pink bubble gum facet reminding me of more masculine leaning perfumes, . It’s oriental/earthy and balsamic as well, and has a similar quality to Chanel Allure Sensuelle that way.

I’ve been looking for the perfect ylang ylang and I’ve finally found it. This is for me better than Micallef. There are similarities but this is much more robust. It is sweet but not too much. There is also something about this that makes me think of shampoo. Moderate sillage and poor longevity.

I have Ylang pure biological oil, and it smells the same and lasts forever on my skin;it means this perfume has a great ylang amount in it, but also,on the other side, about the price…I agree with Mellyhelly.

Most delicious ylang-ylang dessert! Creamy, but ligth and absolutely non-cloying. Comforting and very, very femenine. Not my ususal cup of tea, but I enjoy it immensly. Feel like curling on my sofa, with a good book and a box of dainty, little chocolates 🙂
HeljkoTomi – :
This is the ylang I remember as a teen. The pure essential oil type, the spicy mystical type smelled in the shops I frequented with the hand made soaps, the massage oils, the incense sticks. That type of ylang. This is the first perfume to capture that memory and the exact type I have been searching for. Now to find a bottle of this beauty…sigh…
Bottle found and complete and utter love in 2018…it helps me to sleep!
cs51.ru – :
One of the nicest ylang ylang scents. Not bitter, almost gourmand, vintage. Sweet floral in drydown. Very comforting and uplifting.
valik19771512 – :
This is a 100% ylang-ylang perfume and if that was the aim it is fully satisfied.
Still… IMO a little more room for all other beautiful listed notes could have been more interesting.
I like a good ylang scent, but this one is a little too much ylang-centered, too monodimensional and in the end a little unsastifying, especially for the price.
gamorra – :
This is the darkest ylang ylang you could possibly dream of. It has a smokey, almost medicinal quality to it. It’s intoxicating, addictive, but not heavy or difficult to wear. Great perfume.
