Firstly, I’ll say that I’m a big fan of X by Clive Christian. I own a bottle and at CC prices, you really need to love it to own one. This fragrance at heart is definitely reminiscent of the original X but has the added pink pepper and I can detect some other warm spicy notes, which honestly is a warming and welcoming addition. In regards to the notes listed above, I’d venture to say, that’s not a complete list at all. The complexity of this fragrance is second to none from Clive Christian’s line and many of the components are definitely not included in the pyramid. It is very well blended and extremely complex, which makes it hard for my nose to pick up individual notes.
I initially smelled this one at Saks from a tester and knew right away I needed to have this. Into the collection it went. I have bottle 211 or 117 (I can’t quite make out the exact numbers) I haven’t worn it often, but I really love the smell. For a pure perfume, the performance is good, but not great. I was honestly expecting a bit more. Either way, this scent is in my top 5 and I do prefer it to the original X.

I purchased a bottle of this limited addition perfume signed by Clive Christian, and it is my most treasured fragrance. I’m not a rose person, and found it odd that I loved this so much, until I found out that baies rose is the pink peppercorn plant. The insert in the packaging says that there can be up to 300 notes in each perfume, so the composition is much more complex than the published notes suggest. The scent does not change much as it dries down, other than the cedar coming out a bit more. The combination of ginger and pink peppercorn reminds me a bit of cardamom. This has a sensual spiciness that is a pleasant change from clove and cinnamon type spices. It is a great choice for women who don’t like flowery perfumes. It also will smell great on men, as it is the masculine of the pair, with X Twist Tuberose as the feminine. Absolutely beautiful fragrance and very sensual. I love it. There are only 400 made of this scent, of which I am proud to own number 1. The gorgeous black bottle with the gold leaf crown comes in a box with the bottle number on the seal. They had 3 signed bottles at Saks in Houston when I was there in May, although I’m not sure if they’ve all sold by now. They will ship bottles from the store if you call.
