The nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud.

To me it smells of pickels with Dill – a lot of Dill.
It reminds me of Lalique Pour Homme Equus – a fragrance which I love.

This is very nice. I get the similarities between this and ultime but I think this smells far more woody and piercing.
How do you people find the performance to be? I can only smell this for a little while after applying but when I tested it on paper it was detectable over a week later so I’m wondering if it is weak or if I’m just going anosmic really quickly to this. I have a feeling it’s the latter
Update: Unfortunately, I’m not going anosmic to this, it just has very poor performance on me. People can’t detect this on me 20 mins after I’ve applied it even with liberal application. It’s such a shame because it’s a really nice scent. Try before you buy to see if it lasts on you. Buyer beware

I tested today only on paper strip and I can smell strong pepper with wood and vetiver in a good way, I really enjoy, I find this unisex, fresh, clean and just a little sweetness, so should be perfect in Spring and Summer. Reminds me something in the past, but dont know which cologne smells similar to Joop! wow 🙂

It smells nice, but, guys, this one is a 100% copy of Carolina Herrera CH Men…

Wow! by Joop Fragrances is yet another solid masculine to add to their range. My partner could choose to wear any fragrance he wanted, but all he tends to prefer is the house of Joop. I don’t blame him as they create many wonderful, inexpensive masculines that often smell far better than a multitude of other fragrances on the current market.
Wow! is Joop’s latest release, packaged in a bright orange bottle with a black cap. This fragrance is slightly sweet like the majority of scents from the house of Joop. The most dominant notes to my nose include cardamom, tonka bean, cashmere wood, violet leaf and zesty, sour bergamot.
I find this fragrance to be quite soothing, especially with its spicy-woodsy aroma. It’s also softer on the skin, so with a few light sprays, it could pass as a skin scent. Wow! by Joop is, in my opinion, more universally pleasing than the much bolder Joop Homme. This fragrance is suitable for all seasons and could be worn either casually or as a formal scent.
As this fragrance is still considered a new release it, unfortunately, comes with a hefty price tag. I am waiting patiently for Wow! to decrease in price and hit the discounters so I can acquire a bottle for my partner. He may beat me to it, however, as everytime we pass the fragrance counter he will stop to spray Wow! on his pulse points.

A less sweeter (and cheaper) version of Maison Martin Margiela’s By the Fireplace. One of Joop’s better fragrances.

Smells like an orange candy drenched in liquor.
Slightly resembles l’nuit de homme.projection n longevity is average.. Casual perfume

Joop WoW = YSL L’Homme Ultime but Joop has better longevity

  9. :

i like this one…it gives off the ‘cool but also kinda serious’ vibe
    girls like it too
    only issue is the longevity

Never in my life i could imagine my favourite fragrance could be created in 2017 by Joop!!??…
WOW! I’m speechless to be honest. This is like the scent i was waiting for. My number one in the middle of all those Niches. Thanks Mr.Raynaud.

Tried this in Boots the other day, smells like the sticky part of the inside of a brown envelope full of sugar cubes.

A better one from Joop! I think. Actually a pretty nice, warm fragrance. Dry down reminds me of YSL la nuit de l’homme, only YSL is more complex and sophisticated.
Projects well for about 6-8 hours and remains a skin scent for a veeery long time. Last time I sprayed it on in the afternoon and it stayed on over night.

    Very good one from joop,
    it actually projects and
lasts a lot longer than i
    first thought, i am enjoying
    wearing this catching whiffs
from it all the time, it does in
fact remind me of ysl ultime,
only this one is sweeter and
a bit more syrupy, nice scent.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

When I first sprayed this I thought it was so light it was useless, but after a few minutes the scent appeared and it projected moderately for 6 hours. It’s a bit generic but there’s nothing to really dislike about it. A safe office scent for sure.

  18. :

Joop Wow ! is AWESOME ! Combines best notes from YSL L’Homme Ultime and Carolina Herrera CH Men and add performance ! FINALLY !!!
If you like YSL L’Homme line and CH Men get yourself Joop Wow! – you will not be disappointed !

I think I found my third signature scent.
It is warm, mysterious amd classy. It carries emotions.

  20. :

    5 out of 5

It is very similar to Molecule 01 Escentric Molecules and givenchy play intense but more sweeter. I like it and it is a long lasting.

  21. :

I actually really like this fragrance. The first reaction was that it kinda smells like a spicy, musky orange candy. I definitely get warm orange for some reason, probably because of the bottle. Its nice and smells like a wintery night out kind of scent. Its not overly masculine and actually smells quite sweet, and it lasted the night and probably about 5 hours into the day. To sum it up, imagine a slightly musky, spicy sweet orange candy. Can be worn by anyone.

  22. :

A flanker for Fahrenheit when it opens, but blander.
Then drys down to a fairly generic (weak) incense.
Not particularly long lasting, but hangs around for a few hours. Projection is moderate – for about an hour, then it settles close to the skin.
Overall, I’d say its okay, but IMO there’s nothing unique or particularly memorable to it.
    5/10 from me

  23. :

Dsyben- Yes this is a little bit similar to Spicebomb by V&R!
I sprayed Joop Wow on my hand in the shop today, and i new i had smelt something similar before. Im not really that into Spixebomb if truth be told, i find it a bit OTT and headache inducing. Joop Wow however is a more toned down, more ‘refined’ dare i say, composition. I think i may have to treat myself to a bottle of this in the near future. It’s a very solid release from Joop imo 🙂

  24. :

Wow, they got the accord of a chewing gum you have been chewing for a couple of hours just right. It was probably briefed to perfumer as “fresh unisex”.
Theirs EdT starts unsure of the destination, a chip of fresh wood (karanal?), a hint of herb? A pinch of spice (cinnamal?) but quicky (within 5 minutes) settles into a monotonous old chewing gum kind of fresh with no stucture, depth or evolution. Drab not wow.

  25. :

A fragrance which becomes tangy and young after an initial more mature opening….
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 – 2 mins. Smells like a Dior Fahreneit flanker, with quality and depth, with masculinity and some maturity. This is the best part and yes I had a whisper of “wow, then actually not that bad”..
2 mins – 3 hours. 1 foot projection. It morphs into a juvenille, sweet, sharp “berry” like smell which lacks depth and smells thin. It is pleasant enough though.
3 hours – 5 hours. 2 inch projection Starts to change again with some creaminess coming in the drydown and the sweetness starts to fade. It has a burning like sensation on your skin
5 – 11 hours Close to the skin but quite a strong skin scent. It changes yet again! with a soapy wood like musk coming through, this is my least favourite part
This is the best Joop fragrance for ages, but still not wow. I like the opening best and the similarity to Fahreneheit.
This fragrance has a lot of scent development – 4 distinct parts – which is another plus for it.
    Not bad

  26. :

When I first sprayed this I have to say I was surprised at how pleasant I thought it was. But once the top notes subside it becomes a harsh spicy scent. Reminiscent of Spicebomb but nowhere near as pleasing to the nose. It did remind me of something but I couldn’t put my finger on it… Then, I finally realised what it was! I purchased a counterfeit bottle of BdC off some a-hole on eBay last year and it smells like a “real” version of this fake juice. Very funny, but embarrassing for Joop!

  27. :

I don’t get all the hate for this one. I think it’s the best thing to come out of this house for ages, the fragrance has a pretty original, unusual, almost medicinal vibe, which on first try I disliked but warmed to. Longevity is excellent, and as it develops it improves, I liked it enough to get the fragrance, balm and deodorant. Thumbs up from me.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

It does not smell quite like
anything i have i my collection,
and that alone may be enought to say
wow for me. I get this sweet berries
sort of vibe that i find plesant.
As mentioned its not very loud its soft but
still very nice in its own way.
I like it because its different, not because
its groundbreaking or anything. Worth a sniff.

If you unlabel the bottle and you spray it, i can swear it’s something Cartier would do, i donno why but i consider it like the same family with that kind of smells, classy, mystique, gentleman way kind. I will say i really like it but i cannot explain why. I just do enjoy this and i really think that Joop prove they can do more than just vulgar and strong smells (Joop Homme).

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Sampled it from the “Ed Sheran” issue of GQ and rubbed my wrist in the tiny peel off sample.
It reminded me of CARTIER “L’Envol” very much, so for me it I a rip-off, the poor man’s version of Cartier.
Very pleasant, yes indeed, but not very long-lived, sadly.
Not a “Wow” factor overall, but I am sure they’re working on the intense version as we speak.
5/10. Just too flighty and weak, compared to quality frags.

  33. :

    ★★★ (3 / 5 stars)
Don’t expect the screeching bleachy syrupy sweetness of original joop.
This is indeed powdery and unisex. Work safe. The marketing doesn’t fit the scent so pay close attention to this review. (whiskey bottle but no boosy notes? Panther but no aggressive animalic notes?)
Imagine a mix of the top notes and feminine vibe of Ysl Ultime, the dry down of Ysl L’Homme, the smooth classy blending of Gucci II, and the cypress and aromatic vibe of last year’s hit Loewe 001 (amazing overlooked frag) – all wrapped with light vanilla and anchored with a Vetiver base.
Great combination right? (I’m making it sound more epic than it is with those comparisons but joop wow is well above average)
Performance upon first few wearings seemed great. Will update soon.

  34. :

    Similar to lhomme ultime

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Sweet, soft, powdery vanilla. This is pretty tame and so unlike the other Joop! for men fragrances. I was not expecting the amount of powder. Alcoholic beverage shaped bottle? More like powder puff! This is totally unisex. If anything it reminds me of L’Occitane’s Eau des Baux. I really enjoy this one.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

I liked the look of this fragrances simple design. I tried it out at the first opportunity. When first applying it to my skin it reminded me of Givenchy Gentlemen casual chic with a woodier base. It was nothing amazing, but pleasant. Unfortunately the Sillage was weak and its longevity was short, so its a no from me.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Typical fragrance community all sheep only dislike this fragrance because it’s Joop and other members of the fragrance community dislike it.
Safe to say you can ignore all the bias reviews, this fragrance is acceptably long lasting and the girls love it, if you are after a cheap fragrance that is appreciated by the masses then this is your thing.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

Not sure about all the dislikes for this. Yes, it’s a crowd pleaser, and to my nose it is almost identical to Gucci Pour Homme 2, but its still a nice scent. It may be on the generic side and will be a relatively safe blind buy but i found the performance very adeqate. Projection is moderate and longevity is a decent 5 – 6 hours.
    7/10.

  39. :

    Joop wow!
Despite the ridiculous name which I can live with, and the orange box and uninspiring design, which again I actually think is striking in its own way. I can even live with the ‘have to have’ gimmick of the cap being like a polo mint, something I admit is a first on me…what I couldn’t live with is if this scent is awful.
To tell you the truth Wow! Is not awful. It’s kinda got shades of a rubbery spicebomb or a less classy Gucci PHII you know that kind of sweet spicing and direction. It opens much more sweet and pungent with a bubblegum and synthetic berry accord though before it settles to that more familiar Spicebomb territory.
The point is here that Wow! is not Spicebomb and I can get how it might be heavier in cardamom but the individual notes are a bit lost in this messy composition.
Basically wow has all the crass DNA you’d expect from a Joop fragrance and (although I don’t currently own any) I really do say that from a place of love….just.
I desperately want to like some of the pour homme flankers that have graced our shelves in recent years but they all have the same balls out disregard for subtlety and nuance. Hey some people want that and Joop certainly provide it, in spades.
As you enter into this really settling down, I thought it was a bit of a weakling but it’s gently projecting and do you know what? I don’t hate it.
It’s clumsy and troublesome but by no means awful if you don’t mind a sweet, slightly icky, spiced fragrance then it’s worth a sniff.
The silage was quite good at first as I kept getting unexpected wafts but the general strength and longevity is nothing notable.
    I’m not wowed by wow!

A lot darker than I thought it would be, with a nice masculine woody vibe and something a bit different, a note that I’m not terribly familiar with, but a good one. It could be the violet leaf, yeah probably is, because I get a lingering metallic element in the scent that intrigues me. Check this one out, it’s different. It has the soft vanilla and fruity thing going on, but it’s toned down, and the darker big boy elements dominate. Nice one Joop, you’ve done something very interesting here.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I tested Joop Wow! in Douglas shop and shortly after that I tested Jil Sander Simply for woman. I sensed something common. It’s viololet leaf! And both are created by Christophe Raynaud! I also have Fahrenheit came into my mind on the top note but then it quickly turned into something else I cannot remember well. But overall it’s good. I also got a sample vial from the shop but didn’ have chance to test it again. I’ll update later.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

The ladies at Boots were pushing this in my face so I obliged a test. Reminded me of cartier l’envol for about an hour, just as light and airy. I have the original joop which I hardly touch. Fair play for trying a different direction. Some might like it.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Pleasant, nice and comforting scent. Soft and soothing to nose. Nothing ground breaking nor overtly masculine. Soft sweet floral fragrance like scented candle. Reminds me if ambre noir by yves rocher. Projection and sillage remains soft too.
I like the colour and design of bottle.
6 out of 10 for me

  44. :

I tested on a paper strip ,the time i got homme it almost disapear, the next day i smell the paper who was left on table, there is something very faint or not.The most lighter edt at 50 pounds u can find ,is in that category of lights edt like nautica, eau de Grey flannel which u can find for a 5-10 pounds.Forget it was already.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Surprisingly pleasant offering from Joop. It’s quite soft and subtle. Not an interesting scent, but perfectly pleasant in a Lynx/Axe vein. The other Joop scents I’ve tried in the past were extremely loud and screechy. This is much more toned down. Fresh and a little sweet, with some flowers in there too. The drydown turns ever-so-slighty “sweaty” however. Not much in the way of projection, but in terms of a skin-scent, it’s there for hours.
    Not bad at all.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I tried a small spray today, and as below, it’s very familiar but I can’t place my nose upon what. Definitely NOT Aventus! This is a pretty nice scent, I must say – seemed quite refrained compared to the other Joops that I’ve tried. I’ll try and wear it tomorrow as opposed to a small spray on my wrist.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

Tried this in The Fragrance Shop. On my skin it starts off sweet from the first spray. It then becomes quite floral and powdery. It instantly reminded me of a fragrance I have tried before but could not place it. It has no resemblance to Aventus whatsoever. The bottle looks great. It’s non offensive and I think it will be very popular with younger guys. I would say this is a day to evening Fragrance with good longevity. I don’t know if I would buy this myself as I have tested other fragrances which I prefer. I agree that this could be classed as unisex too.

  48. :

how does it smell like both Creed & Nicki Minaj? those scents smell nothing alike… am i missing something?

Not normally a fan of Joop! but was given a spray card as I walked past the perfume shop in my lunch break and could not stop sniffing it! I walked back around and went to this perfume shop to ask what it was and this as it! I was surprised that it was for men and it could easily be for women too and in my opinion should have been made Unisex! It is gorgeous and sexy and I can’t stop sniffing my own hand! lol I got the men in the office to sniff it too and some female colleagues and they loved it and nobody thought it was for men so now this is my new scent! well done Joop! a sexy adult scent i love it!!

  52. :

    3 out of 5

First of all I wasn’t expecting this take from joop at all. the opening it’s quite interesting with an old school touch in it. it opens quite similar to burberry London, after 10 minutes the cardamom takes over and it turns into a cardamom bomb and then it reminds me a lot l’homme ultime and F by Ferragamo Black. this fragrance is lhomme ultime with an Old School hint of Burberry London.

  53. :
