This is one of the strangest perfumes I have sampled in a long time. During some stages it’s endearingly eccentric, and during others, I’m not sure if it works.
It starts with a blast of pepper and strawberry syrup, which do not play well with each other. Then the scent becomes very metallic, like strawberry jam on your fingers after you have rolled a bunch of pennies. After about an hour, the pepper disappears and the aggressive green metallic galbanum reminiscent of tarnished pennies calms down and embraces and enhances the freshness of its strawberry friend.
Finally in the drydown, Woodland Strawberries seems better balanced and cohesive. I have no idea if I like this one or not, but it’s surely not boring.
