Woman is what I would expect to smell on a professional woman who went to all the right schools and has a country club membership. She’s confident yet demure, and always looks well pressed and put together even when she’s wearing jeans. It’s quite lovely, but a bit too “proper” for my tastes.

I was never a fan of Ralph Lauren fragrances but after announcing the release of this fragrance I was intrigued and had to give it a try. I absolutely love this fragrance. Woman by Ralph Lauren is for the classy, poised & young modern woman who embodies femininity but also has an androgynous side. I can get away with wearing this for pretty much any occasion and for many parts of the year. Plus, I am always receiving compliments when I wear this. Definitely will be keeping this in my collection for a while.

Fall 2018. Very nice for a lower price point fragrance. Sweeter and softer than Diptyque’s Do Son, or other more expensive tubereoe focused scents. But Diptyque’s is richer and fuller. Lauren’s is more sheer and lighter. Has a nice trail and longevity. Great transition fragrance for daytime office to evening, dinner soirée.
I’m gonna play around with some Combos and see what I get. I’ll try Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille, which I’m loving for fall right now and another time I’ll see what wood scents from Jo Malone might do with this. Although it’s great on its own, I’d like a little more personalization of it for fall.

Ralph Lauren fragrances never fail to impress me but this is something else! Absolutely divine perfume.
Beautifully blended tuberose, pear, black currant & rhubarb. Dry down is warm, slightly sweet & woodsy. Lasting power is 6+ hours on my skin.
Ultimate minimalist chic perfume. Crisp, clean white shirt, navy jeans & loafers. Casual yet put-together. Definitely can be worn dressed up or down.
The bottle reminds me of an old style lighter or hip flask, I love it!
I know what Santa’s getting me this year 😉

Delicious, yummy, zesssssty, fruity but not over citrusy… pear pear pear… super feminine and girly…blind buy by only read the notes on fragrantica. And its worth… never regret. And since i bought it at cheapest… i will buy again for backup!!!! Perfect for day time, spring, summer though the performance not so great during hot weather. Greater performance if you use it at cooler weather. Its joyful, cheerful, perfect for casual wear. Projection and sillage are good, very wearable since it wont hurt anybody near your with its “strong” opening. Longevity is average, about 4-6 hrs ( 1 spray). And the dry down is very nice on me…so soft, flowery, a bit creamy (maybe its the hazelnut) but not over creamy… just nice and smooth… perfect for romantic moment. Love it love it love it…

AMAZING delivery of tubérose & rhubarb. The pear and black currant aren’t that sweet and not that noticeable. The scent projected from my skin is absolutely gorgeous. This perfume gives me this vibe of a beautiful, educated, strong LADY with a vintage flare . Perfect fall, daytime scent!

My immediate reaction was a recognition of similarity to only one existing fragrance. Cavalli. Nothing else. That said, this was an immediate reaction and this does become recognisable as a retro-style powerhouse. This very much says to me ‘American woman’, to be worn by women over 25 and under 40 who are powerful characters. the overriding note in this to myself is the tuberose. It dominates, or rather gathers together all the other listed notes, for I cannot pick up individually listed rhubarb, pear, blackcurrant etc. Actually quite like it, but one thing is bugging me, where is the explanation of the hip-flask cap? Tree is almost a warm boozy note in the fragrance but surely there must be some reason this is presented in a hip-flask? Do tell!

A very nice scent. On my skin I get soft, mild Tuberose and warm woodsy notes, an airy sweet not as well – maybe the pear/rhubarb-mix. I might buy a bottle – I think this scent will be at its best in springtime.

What sorcery is this? Everyone with different opinion on what this reminds them of, from Poison Girl to Fracas, and not one mention of LVEB?! This I must try!
Update after sampling: This is a lovely grown up tuberose with a retro vibe that doesn’t feel outdated. Opens with the floral punch of ES In White or ToD as someone else mentioned, & feels quite glamorous for the first hour, then softens to a warm & uncomplicated woody feminine scent reminiscent of Miracle, Chloe or Lacoste pour femme.

It is rare for me to not fall in love with anything from Ralph Lauren , but this fragrance does not inspire me . I love gardenias and white flowers in nature and life, but in perfume they are sometimes too intense . This will probably appeal to lovers of strong white florals that are not balanced by spices or oak moss . I smell mostly gardenia.

It was doing fine, not exceptional and hardly noticeable until the blackcurrant reared its ugly head… not for me, it has a cat urine edge.

I get nauseous of it, so I can’t wear it 🙁

Enjoying the evening with this scent. It’s precious. It’s just like a favorite gem. You just sit and admire it’s beauty. It makes you feel like a queen. It’s just amazing to me. Meghan Markle would be a perfect face for this perfume. It’s bright, sparkly as her eyes when she looks at her prince, it’s vibrant, full of life, and as charming as her personality.
The bottle has a very much needed flip top. With so many perfumes, it’s hard to find a top at times! This is a necessity! Even cheap bottles should have grandma crocheted strings as far as I’m concerned.
The bottle itself is a bit plain. I think I might like a little lettering like, the golden initials of RL. Even plain, it doesn’t have a cheap look to it. OK…a teensy bit maybe. But I still love the whole look! This isn’t a complaint, just a small preference.
This scent is so pretty, after holding an infant that has picked up your scent, it would still be appropriate. It’s just that lovely.
I haven’t ever smelled any other Ralph Lauren fragrances for women. But I’d be willing to bet someone else’s life, they wouldn’t be any better than this!

A nice offering by Ralph Lauren. I’m not particularly fond of their fragrances for women, I tend to avoid fruity florals and aquatics but this is a much welcomed change. The base is smooth and creamy provides a good backdrop for the pear and the black currant. The orange blossom emerges somewhere in between, but blends in well. The rhubarb is barely detectable. This has admirable lasting power and gets more cozy as it wears on.

like a young girl’s perfume or an updated modern vintage fruity floral; tuberose, orange blossom, pear, black currant, sandalwood and musk

First, let me say that I’m a big fan of Ralph Lauren fragrances. He has the softest, most feminine perfumes on the market in my honest opinion. When I bought this sample, I was so surprised to find that it is overwhelmingly gardenia. I cannot take gardenia as it gives me a bad headache. I came here to read the notes and why is it, that I’m not seeing gardenia anywhere in the make up of this perfume?? That’s odd to me…
I like it even though I don’t like the note – because it’s soft and I wore it today and don’t have a headache…however I wouldn’t buy a bottle of it because of the gardenia in it. It smells like it’s the main note and I cannot detect anything else in it! There are many other more beautiful scents out there that I’d rather be wearing 🙂

This isn’t really so bad. What I can’t understand is, I do not normally like floral fragrances yet I am drawn to this. It reminds me of that old school perfume “Fracas” mixed with some other sweet scent. I love sweet so maybe that’s why. It has lasting power on me and not offensively strong. It has a warm s tuberose scent to it (reminding me of Fracas) and then either Vanilla or some other sweet scent thrown in. I probably won’t buy a full bottle but a travel or roller ball of this.

GOOD HEAVENS…….THIS IS A GARDINIA OVERLOAD. Not my kind of Perfume. $80. Down the toilet. Unfortunately it’s so expensive right now. This smells exactly like Diamond and Emeralds by Elizabeth Taylor. Will trade for an equal priced perfume.

Ralph Lauren Woman is beautiful to me.
When I first blind bought it I was unimpressed and ready to swap it. I’m glad I didn’t though.
It smells fruity, a yummy lactonic pear-peach mixed with modern tuberose (not at all old school, very light and feminine tuberose).
It’s pretty easy to find and sample before purchasing, but for those contemplating a blind buy it reminds me of Burberry for women (the 90s one) mixed with J’adore absolu.
In fact, if J’adore Absolu is a French young woman with everything that entails, RL Woman is her American counterpart, bubbly, smiley, good hearted and charmingly approachable.
I love both, and I think RL Woman will become a classic. I’m hoping for a wintery/intense/absolu version, maybe with the hazelnut note really amped up as I cannot smell it here.
Of note, I don’t like other RL frags in general.
Edit: Layered with Serge Lutens’ Jeux de Peaux and there’s an irresistible hazelnut note throughout:)

Operation samples b gone… I have 3 sample vials of this and I keep shifting them from my “really like” to “like” pile, back and forth…
It is a beautiful scent, no doubt about that. It’s a bit too ladylike for myself. For me, it invokes an image of a well groomed, impeccably styled woman dressed in designer clothes. Someone who will lunch at the country club and go yachting in the Hamptons.
I’m more of a cute knit top, sparkly jeans and combat boots type of woman, who lunches at the sushi bar and takes a road trip to go hiking in the Redwoods, lol!
The white floral is well done here, really smooth and not super heavy. I don’t get a lot of rose, the tuberose drowns it out on my skin. There is a brief tangy note in the very beginning but this settles in to “pretty floral” almost right away on me. I also don’t get a distinct hazelnut, more wood on my skin.
Overall, gorgeous scent, just not something I have much desire to own in my current phase. Maybe in 10years, even though I am already in my mid-fourties… I don’t see this as necessarily an older fragrance, just a different life style than mine.

Well….it is..INTERESTING. Sister of Gucci Bloom..?
Also…I am getting a less cloying vibe of Madonna Truth or Dare and even this….yes…sorry…but…White Shoulders !!! I have to say that it is a LIKE so far,but typical, typical. There is something floating around underneath and between the other notes that I am finding I like. I am getting more of a “gardenia” vibe than tuberose…or is it a combo of both…???
More investigating necessary for this one,but all in all it is a pleasant mainstream scent. Seems to last on the skin well too.
Edit: Upon further wearing this scent….I must be fair…it has changed one me…for the better…I now get the wood/hazelnut effect blending with the floral aspects….which is GOOD. I like the “underneath” notes of this scent..that rise up and go in and out….This is good stuff afterall !!!

This perfume is beautiful. It goes on quite strong at first so you only need a spray or two. Once it mellows down, it’s a gorgeous floral, fruity, and slightly woodsy fragrance. It reminds me of Gabrielle by Chanel, probably because of the tuberose note. It’s feminine and appropriate for any occasion or time of year. This lasts all day on me and can still be smelled on clothes for days after.

    This one surprised me!
Though I do like some of the older RL perfumes, I haven’t really been into any of the fruit cocktail perfumes they’ve released post-2000. This is a beautiful tuberose that, to me, smells like a throwback to their earlier style yet still totally modern. It’s not a fruity perfume with a hint of tuberose, it’s a full-bodied tuberose with fresh, natural smelling fruit, and I love the hazelnut note which keeps things grounded and adds just a tiny bit of a gourmand twist, though it’s by no means a sweet gourmand perfume. The fresh rhubarb note is very nice too and a huge bonus is that unlike the majority of new releases, the sillage and longevity with this one is great! The only problem I have with it is that the pear note has a tiny bit of a chemical overtone but I don’t fault the perfume for that-pear ALWAYS does this to me and is therefore a very difficult note for me to wear, and this is still one of the better interpretations of pear that I’ve ever smelled. I won’t be buying it, only because there are literally hundreds of other perfumes that I want and this isn’t quite unique enough to make the list, but I think it’s a release worth being excited about, especially if you are a fan of tuberose and/or older RL releases.

    I am addicted!
Never thought I’d see the day where a perfume would override my beloved Black Opium, but hey here we are :O
I can’t believe no ones noticed that this is similar to Roberto Cavalli EDP for women, they are crazy similar. That juicy amber smell with a floral hint. I keep stopping mid review to sniff my wrists, god damn. Ralph Lauren perfumes are normally so boring or generic but this is like crack in a bottle.
“Woman” was definitely the right choice of name, I couldn’t picture this on a teenager, however, I think it’s a bit young for the senior ladies crowd, so I do think it’s suited to us females who have entered womanhood and really starting to own that – think, woman who owns the workplace wearing a sharp stiletto heel. That’s what I picture.
It’s not a soft perfume so if that’s what you’re after, walk the other way 🙂

i have this from a gift set — both the scent and the lotion. very pretty. i could say i like the lotion better. the lotion has staying power for the scent.
the key to whether i like this fragrance is, will i buy it again? yes, it’s on my “re-buy” list when this tiny bottle is used up.

Too bad there are no distributors for RL in Serbia… i bought RL Glamourous, Ralph, Ralph Rocks,Notorious, Romance, Pure Turquoise and Romance Always Yours and I love every one of them, i bet I would love this one equally. RL is really great.

Woman by Ralph Lauren is a clean, shampoo-type floral to my nose. It’s very feminine like the name suggests, however it’s not what I would consider a head-turning fragrance.
It opens with a juicy, shower-fresh blend of pear, black currant, tuberose and orange blossom. If clean scents are your favourite genre, it’s worth a sniff, however, if you’re looking for a creamy white floral, then keep looking.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to smell fresh and clean. Woman by Ralph Lauren fits this bill perfectly. Towards the heart, it becomes ever so slightly sweet, which will be sure to appeal to the current market. The dry-down is a very safe blend of softened pear, orange blossom and sandalwood.
I do like the packaging for Woman by Ralph Lauren with its cute, gold flip cap, similar in design to Cartier’s Baiser Vole. The minimalist, black and white themed commercial featuring actress Jessica Chastain also makes it clear that this fragrance is being pushed towards the over 25 age group.
Woman by Ralph Lauren is a pretty, very wearable fragrance that unfortunately doesn’t excite me in the slightest. It would make a good every-day scent, something to spritz on without having to think it over. It’s also very soft in regards to its projection so it is very unlikely that it will ever offend.

Very pretty tuberose forward fragrance on my skin. It seems well balanced with the fruits and woody notes. Very easy to wear, classy, sophisticated, and should work well for people who like white florals. The tuberose is bright and creamy, not indolic. The longevity on my skin is not fantastic, but it lasts a few hours and the fruity notes become more prominent as time passes. I like the brightness that the rhubarb brings to the fragrance, it keeps it fresh and not too sweet. A good quality fragrance and very pleasant. If I did not have so many tuberose fragrances already, I would definitely purchase this one.

  31. :

This has a sour candy smell at first which has to be the rhubarb. This note makes the fragrance different and interesting, but I don’t think I want to smell like a jolly rancher. After the rhubarb fades, it’s mostly a tuberose scent which is easier to wear. The dry down is nice with hazelnut and sandalwood. I just can’t get past the rhubarb opening, so I’ll have to pass on this one.

This smells kind of like potpourri. I don’t care for this smell personally but it is very strong compared to what’s out there so that’s a huge plus. frankly I haven’t cared for ralph lauren perfumes since hot and cool went off the market

Finding a new scent tends to be a challenge for me but not this time. I hadn’t seen it before so I picked it up to give it the initial sniff and surprisingly I really liked it so I went to the spritz on the paper test and Walked around for awhile comparing it to a few others and every time I sniffed Woman on the paper it made me smile. So I went to the wrist test and walked around and shopped for a little while longer. I continued to love this scent on me and even as it evolved and settled in I still loved it ( more smiles). I’m wearing it as I sit here in the winter doldrums and it cheers me up and amazingly it doesn’t turn or disappear on me like many scents do. To me this scent is soft, sexy and like a taking a nice deep breath on a sunny spring day.

Sorry, that guest post is mine….
I went out looking for something a little more grown-up than my current perfume….and this is it! I don’t know how to describe it, but it just smells classy and sophisticated without reminding me a bit of my grandmother’s perfumes. It seems well blended–I’m getting mostly white floral and some woodiness, but nothing is really standing out too much on its own. Surprised citrus isn’t listed, but maybe that’s the pear or rhubarb I’m picking up when I smell the roller ball (I’m a newbie at this). Kind of wish I would have splurged for the bottle.

When i was at the mall 2-3 months ago(which is a rare for me) i was sniffing my way around the perfume counters with a sales associate tailing me trying to sell me on certain frags. she held up RL woman and told me to try it and i politely declined. i hadn’t smelled anything that i loved by RL since Ralph when i was 18. This was a huge mistake! i had gotten a magazine with the insert inside and decided to smell it without being pressured to buy it. instant love!!! i love tuberose and it is quite prevalent in woman. the hazlenut gives this a sweetness along with pear. woman is more of a “mature” scent. i personally do not believe in putting any scent into an age bracket, so what i mean when i say mature is that this wouldn’t be a recommendation to someone who is looking for something new that loves only scents comparable to BS fantasy or Pink Sugar. You would most likely smell this only on women 20+. i am 34 and i love a variety of frags from super sweet to musky to woody. RL woman is classy and beautiful and also one of my absolute favorites.

Woman is a very classy, well made fragrance. Seeing the notes listed I still could not see them working together to become this fragrance. I have always been obsessed with perfumes and have spent lots of time and money chasing my next obsession scent, anxiously tracking my mailbox just to rip open the small packages to take a whiff, LOL! Yea I know. I’m in my fifties and remember Lauren and Calvins even Cloe and thoroughly enjoyed each one I encountered. This fragrance is of that quality. It’s not cup cakes and candy or citrus patchouli, thank you God. Thanks Ralph Lauren for bringing great perfume
Back to this time. It has the sweetness with the fruit and orange blossom touches on just right with Woods and other elements, none punching you in the face but done thoughtfully.
Classy, not for babies, for women, and no it isn’t old fashioned at all, it’s just really good.

I absolutely love this fragrance. After years of searching ( high and low end) this is the perfume of perfumes. I get tons of compliments with people wondering what I am wearing. I have purchased the rollerball and the spray and prefer the rollerball. It stays on longer and sticks to my clothes so I can enjoy it for hours. The spray seemed to fade on me. Very nice floral scent with a hint to musk.

Even though this perfume isn’t “me” since it’s a bit on the sweet side, I must say that it is nice. I’d love it on someone else. I picture a mature older woman in a fragrance like this.

This perfume is so interesting, it is unlike any other perfume I have smelt. I was in the store trying to find something sweet and musky and this one just jumped at me more than any of the other ones I picked up. I think it’s the sandalwood that gives it something special.it’s floral but it is not sharp and it’s just so dreamy. I love the sweetness it has to it. Lately I have been staying away from floral perfumes and moving towards really saccharine and musky perfumes. This one is for sure more sweet than you would think. Ralph Lauren describes this as a magnetic “blend of florals and sandalwood.” Magnetic is a great description! This is the most unique perfume in my collection and I am really enjoying it.

Feels like a grown up mature version of Aqualina’s teeny bop Gold Sugar EDT (not to say they have the same note profile, but a similar overall vibe). Respectable, yet a youthful imp somewhere underneath wanting to get out.

This smells like a more mature version of Britney Spear’s Curious. The pear and tuberose notes really stand out to me in both fragrances. I usually blind buy full bottles of fragrances but i decided to sample this one first and I’m glad i did. I was reading other people’s reviews and my standards were set too high for this one. This is far from a bad fragrance, but if i own a fragrance with a particular scent, i don’t want anything that smells similar to it unless it’s a flanker from the same line and unfortunately that was the case with RL Woman, therefore i won’t be buying a full bottle once i finish the sample.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I’m not a fan of white floral in general in fragrances, especially tuberose, but hands down, this one by far has succeeded its purpose of convincing me otherwise. I started to like tuberose and jasmine NOW, from the moment I was introduced to “Woman” by coincidence. I play-tested this scent in the store while waiting for my husband to pick me up. I was already done with shopping. Less than 5 minutes after we took off, we had to turn around, so that I could rush back inside the store and grab one of these gift set package at Macy’s (the perfume, the lotion, the rollerball and the shower gel), as if I had to hurry before it was sold out.
That had summed it all up for me about this fragrance: anything can happen and becomes possible when it is done RIGHT! They did a good job creating this Woman (the ratio/percentage and the ingredients of everything going on inside this bottle).
Jo Malone with her girl Tuberose & Angelica Cologne Intense and Diptyque with Do Son (with jasmine in it as the most dominant note), can NOT even come close to the beauty of THIS Woman.
