Wish Upon a Star is a botanical floral that combines elements of earthy grass, blackberry, and naturalist flowers. The florals have a noticeable polleny aspect to them, and although the blackberry seems to add body to the fragrance, it’s unsweetened, and thus doesn’t do much to compliment the unsweetened florals any.
It comes together to almost have a black liqourish tint to it. I notice the base is strongest with vetiver, it adds more earthy green depth to the grassy note up top.
Any lover of naturalist perfume might find something neat in this one, but that is a vintage demographic, so this fragrance will need to be sweetened up with vanillas, Beeswax Absolute, Honey Absolute, Ambroxan, sweet resins or sweet balsams (such as Benzoin or Copal) before it might be able to appeal to a more modern crowd.

I get straight up anise from beginning to end. This might be much better on a man. But please not my man! I do not like any foods containing anise. I do like a select few perfumes with it, but not this one

I purchased a sample and on me this fragrance begins and ends with anise and at the end a little vetiver. I am not getting any white flowers but am receiving a full bottle as a prize winner soon so I am going to see how the fresher bottle compares with my sample. So far I am giving this a 3.5 out of 5 but can see that this would be a big love from anise lovers.

Altough this is the last one i tried from what i called the Sebastiane Parfums Blackberry Saga, Wish Upon a Star is more like the beginning instead of the end – i would put Black Magic as the end. It share with the others the fantasy inspiration, but it has a more modern feeling in it’s aroma and a kind of child/pixie behavior for me.
So, following the history i started to tell, Wish Upon a Star is the Black Witch of our Immortal Meadow, but still very young. You cannot tell if she is already adult or still a child, her traces will not tell you this. She is delicate, fragile, but her presence can be noticed through the entire evolution. She hasn’t become, may i say, a bad witch, but she has transformed from a childish and delicate fairy into a dark and voluptous sensual good witch.
Here again you can notice what unites the three fragrances, the bittersweet and sugary berries, here less bitter. It’s curious because while not stronger, it doesn’t seem like blackberries on ripening stage, but more like fully developed ones that doesn’t project a strong smell yet. This is followed by a lovely white flower aroma of green and waxy nuances, which is surrounded by what seems to be a soft, minty and sugary mixture of violets and anise. And, altough not listed, Wish Upon a Star has a delicate vanillic aroma mixture with the light woody base of sandalwood and vetiver.
I suppose that probably who likes Black Witch or Immortal Meadow may not be so passionate about Wish Upon a Star and vice-versa. They seem like different angles or parts of a history, one that you have to pass through the initial stages to discover which do you like the most – in my case, i ended enjoying the three but the first two seems much more my tastes. Again, i believe that this one might blend very well with the other twos, usually i don’t like the layering idea but here it seems very suitable.

Intensely grassy on my skin, with a sweet undertone of blackberries. Smells like a meadow after mowing, but without the sneezing.

This fragrance is becoming one of my favorites from his house, the more I wear it the more I enjoy it, it a semi sweet, grassy fragrance with a little bit of smokiness from the vetiver, my last review I have changed from a 6.5/10 to an 8/10, I just wish it lasted a little bit longer on me, but all in all it’s a great fragrance.
