Edit: after spending a little more time, I am growing more impressed with Illuminum White Musk. I find no more sharp edges or plasticy parts- but it is not so much a white musk as a fantastic impressionistic portrait of a (sweet and dew drop covered) white rose… the perfume holds fabulously on fabric… and even on skin, the long dry down lasts over 24 hours. Then is where a little more of the spicy character comes forward, but it is so subtle, you need to have nose to skin.
Beautiful ingredients too: limonene, iso eugenol, citral (neral + geranial), farnesol, benzyl salicylate, linaloo, eugenol, coumarin, lyral (hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde), alpha iso methyl ionone, geraniol, citronellol…
But is IWM out of production? What a shame, if so. I admit to still favor Le Labo Musk 25 over IWM, but only because it is more of a true white musk imo. But this one is highly recommended for picky rose lovers who favor soft, light, yet high quality, lingering frags.

This musk is a bit of a chameleon to me – at first I wasn’t sure we could be friends… as it does not reveal itself fully at first. In the inital moments I was afraid it might turn out to be some weird/chemical/mess… Soon, it becomes soapy with slighlty sharp almondy notes, accompanied by a sweet, dewy honey/rose. The overall smell is very like freshly washed human skin. Nothing animalic there but just the unmistakable scent of just showered, still wet skin … the perfume sort of settles into a soft scent, that at distance semlls more of talcum powder, come in a bit closer and you catch dewy honey flavored rose scent and at skin level, soapy notes, along with the faintest traces of soft floral spice with a very, very hushed patchouli (you probably won’t notice it at all)… and finally I think perhaps a touch of beeswax sealing the scent to the skin. For me, it hasn’t turned into a complete love- yet…. Afterall, I have other Loukhom based scents and the soapy, watery aspects which I do not love, seem to come to the fore on my skin- but the scent has a ghost that tantilizes me at certain other times… a perfect, impossibly soft scent- with almost green, musky-dewy nuances, as if someone has set a freshly poured honey rose beeswax candle, near me… We shall see…
