Best night blooming jasmine scent yet! It captures the haunting nocturnal aroma with a delicate hand. It’s light and fresh, as opposed to heavy or sultry. Most perfumers miss this aspect of the flower, and consequently miss the mystery of an unforgettable scent. Real night-blooming jasmine is so compellingly beautiful that it imprints you for life with it’s aroma. I know. I first smelled the real thing on a warm night as a child in Cuba, and can still relive me pausing in my tracks as a 6 yr. old to enjoy its allure. This perfume brings it all back with its rendition of the natural night bloom. Exquisitely beautiful!

Interesting that some reviewers find What Comes From Within: Light to be more about honeysuckle–or even freesia!–than jasmine. To my nose, this appealing perfume is very jasmine-centric. It’s a lovely, natural, night-blooming jasmine with a creamy dreaminess to it. Very smooth and not at all sharp or green or strident.
I’d call this a pristine white jasmine, which makes the name, Light, very appropriate, it seems to me. But this is not clean and light as in the bright white light of Dial soap. No soap or aldehydes here, just an unsweetened dollop of creamy jasmine! (No marshmallows, either…)
This may be the perfect white flower perfume to try if you think that you don’t like white flower perfumes… Unless of course you absolutely abhor jasmine, in which case I can only say: I am so sorry for you!

MMM… Salty, oceanic, white flower bouquet in a hand-thrown ceramic vase! This would be the fragrance on the enclosed porch of a beach house on Cape Cod… or at least a perfect scented candle fragrance for one. …
What Comes from Within: Light is largely a freesia lilac fragrance. At the top there is honeysuckle which initially lured me in, since I am still on a mission to find true to life, unadulterated honeysuckle. WCFWL quickly becomes a bunch of fresh florals and aquatic musk. The jasmine is not true to life for me, and though it is present, it is shoved aside by the freesia.
WCFWL remains a linear bouquet with some beachy salty breeze and green/aquatic elements throughout its life, settling eventually into an aquatic musk in the dry down which occurs in about an hour.
I find this fragrance extremely nice, fresh, and un-threatening. Sillage is average but once the florals disappear in the dry down, that aquatic musk clings to my skin for hours. WCFWL doesn’t seem to give me allergies like many freesia fragrances do. Thank you SHP, for the lovely sample.
I could see this one being a go-to fragrance for some when they can’t decide on a SOTD, and a signature for others due to its freshness and wearability. I am not personally moved to own a FB, but my boyfriend loves it on me, so there you go.

If you love Jasmine, you will love this scent! It is one of the nicest true jasmine’s I”ve worn, and blends beautifully with the honeysuckle and freesia. It is definitely predominately floral, but in a delicate sophisticated way. It is NOT too sweet or overpowering. Just lovely!
