Werewolf Lumberjack is a nice fragrance, but It’s admittedly one-note (well I guess it would be two-note, but my point stands that its a bit simplistic.) This is an improvement in pretty much every way.
If the original is a log of wood wearing pleasantly dirty underwear, this is a beaver dam made of logs of wood wearing even dirtier underwear… In the best way imaginable. This is very very castoreum-forward, with all of the note’s interesting musky facets dancing off of a very smoky sort of fireside aroma. Theres also a strong patchouli thrown in that gives the whole thing an old school masculine kick while still retaining a modern, idiosyncratic structure. “Robust Musk” indeed. This is very hearty and robust, thick as a brick and aggressively hirsute in that 70’s machismo-way. To be honest I wish this was year round and Werewolf Lumberjack was the seasonal limited edition one, but alas I must settle with a measly 4 ml travel spray. Projects like an animals gland but the longevity is deceptively lacking. Great, bearded, manly-ass stuff.

Mandatory for all musk’s lovers, to screaming of pleasure.

I consider myself as a musk newbie, but i loooove this one ! The opening is really strong and animalic – nothing to do with soapy clean white musk – but still very warm and cozy ! The castoreum gives it a slightly dirty background but it doesn’t go into fecal or urinal territory.
The patchouli is quite strong but creates a nice boozy accord that reminds me of L’Atelier Cologne Gold Leather but drier and woodier.
It’s lovely in every way possible and its warmth makes it extremely wearable. I’m just a little sad that Werewolf Lumberjack Reclining on a Bearskin Rug is just a limited edition… Get a sample while you can !
edit: I don’t know why, but the smell of that werewolf made me hungry. Definitely weird.

It’s a frigidly cold night in late January, and seeking shelter from the cold you come upon a log cabin stacked high with pelts. You settle on a chair, close your eyes, and take in the smells around you. Piney, woody, and furry. Almost unbearably furry, honestly. Pachouli lurks in the background, mingling with something almost armpitty. The intense initial blast soon mellows to a softer, but still somewhat raunchy musk, and patchouli. You’ve met the owner of this cabin, and he’s friendly. Maybe a little TOO friendly.
This might not sound too appealing, but surprisingly it works. It might help that I’m a musk lover and have yet to smell a musk that I found outright distasteful, but as unconventional as this scent is, I kind of like it. It’s not something I’d wear out on the town certainly, it’s too masculine for me. But I would wear it on a cold evening home on the couch snuggling up to a cup of cocoa in front of a roaring fire with a (in my dreams) lumberjack of my very own. Hey, a girl can dream.
Werewolf Lumberjack Reclining on a Bearskin Rug is part of the “Winterific!” line, and it’s definitely what I would consider a winter fragrance. Very robust and warm.
